  1. I'm not sure "left" is the most accurate wording.

Oh, I thought he was talking about Red Grenadier's Justice Dinners during HeroCon's and M&G's.

But I think he just may have said that.
  3. I'll be there.

This is a lousy way for my weekend to begin, but I guess it's worse for Chris.

EDIT: I won't be rolling a lowbie since Justice is home. I'll be there on TJ.

He's denying being involved with the leak of the news.

The fun part is, it'd be Galaxy City. That's how you know that everyone there is there for the ceremony.

    My recommended details:

Justice server, 7:15 PM (Pacific Time)
    I'll see you there Marcian.

For those that have difficulty with the time differences, it breaks down as follows:

10:15 PM Eastern, 9:15 PM Central, 8:15 PM Mountain, 7:15 PM Pacific, 4:15 PM Alaska-Hawaii Thursday

Unfortunately, I'm not adept at converting to European time zones or Australian or New Zealand time zones.

    I'll attempt it though.

Brazil (Brazil Time) 11:15 PM Thursday
London (UTC or British Standard Time) 3:15 AM Friday
Paris (Middle European Time?) 4:15 AM Friday
Western Australia and the Phillipines (Java Time) 10:15 AM Friday
Central Australia (Australian Central Time) 11:15 AM Friday
Eastern Australia (Australian Eastern Time) 12:15 PM Friday
New Zealand (New Zealand Time) 2:15 PM Friday

I hope I didn't mangle any of those time zones too badly.

I hope to see you all there.

So long Chris, best of luck in the future.

Not to burst your bubble, TJ, but Protector is my home.

Ocho, were you thinking of something like this...

I knew Protector was your home, but that doesn't mean you have to rat out your adopted home either.

I thought for sure Frog had a character or two on Protector, but he has alts on so many servers I can't keep up with them.

Not only did we have BAB and pohsyb as witnesses, Red Valkyrja and Mr. Frog were in attendance as well. There may have been other Protectorites in attendance but my memory is getting more holes than swiss cheese so there's no telling what fell through the cracks that night.

It's too bad that DarkRespite wasn't running a video camera that night to record the event, but she and Bloodspeaker were in attendance as well.

Ah Zekiran_Immortal, you are so deluded on other servers. Justice does indeed back up what we say, and here is the pic as proof that it did happen.

If you don't trust the picture, just ask Red. I believe she was at the Justice Japanese Junket when this was served.

And to think that one we've taken in as one of our own betrayed us this way.

    TJ is sad.

    EDIT:

I wasn't mistaken. I see Red in 3 pictures from that dinner, this one shows the back of pohsyb's head as well with Fuzun sitting beside Red.

I may have put away quite a bit of sake and alcohols of various flavors that night, but this was early enough that I was just getting started so my memory was still fairly decent.
  9. Then you need to contact HP and have them assist you in getting the drivers correctly installed and functioning. That error message is generated when the game engine cannot detect the correct OpenGL support in the drivers.

It is possible that you have a corrupted driver installation caused by remnants of the old driver being left on the drive after you uninstalled the old driver. You did uninstall the old driver first before installing the new driver?

If HP support can't help you get the driver installation problems resolved your only other option would be to back up all of your documents, pictures, etc. and have HP assist you in a full restore of your system back to how it was when you got it from HP.

Not being familiar with their netbooks, I don't know if HP has a recovery solution using a recovery partition on the hard drive or what their procedure is. If it's like most netbooks, it doesn't have a CD or DVD drive and probably doesn't ship with restoration software on that type of media.

I had this setting on "Larger 150%". Reducing it back to "Smaller 100%" returns my scaling for CoH to normal.

RETESTED -- It appears that ONLY the "Larger 150%" setting creates the problem. "MEDIUM 125%" does not result in the same issue. (and on both 125% and 100%, the in game resolution reported is 2560x1600 with 3D scaling also showing 2560x1600)
So, for whatever reason, the largest setting throws something off with CoH resulting in the screen res getting whacked. Now, this is a WINDOWS 7 setting, not an Nvidia setting. This setting was DESIGNED for these ultra high res displays to keep users from having to use tiny text (again, this doesn't typically affect GAMES at all, and the 125% setting still does not affect CoH, so I'm not sure why 150% does).

This setting allows you to set scaling on the display which usually only affects text and dialog boxes and the like... it has not affected any other game and it is ANNOYING that I have to lose the ability to use this setting. (On this monitor, I like to use this feature so that text isn't teensy tiny; most newer programs work just fine with it, including every STEAM based game I own).

I hope a future update fixes this.
    jg, welcome back.

This isn't a Windows 7 only feature or problem unfortunately. The same option is available in XP and possibly in 95/98/ME/2000 as well. It also caused scaling issues in those OS's.

Most of the people I know of that used that setting were those that were running a program that required a specific screen resolution such as 1024x 768 but that made the text too small for them to read easily (often older people or those with acute visual impairments) or people that wanted to run higher resolutions due to games or graphics programs they used but since they were on 14"-17" monitors they couldn't read all of the text, even sometimes on the icons themselves.

I came across this issue when I was doing phone based Tech Support for a hardware manufacturer and we had customers unable to click the buttons in our setup wizards. It took a bit over a week to get someone willing to work with us (and that could follow instructions) to check all of the possible settings. Once we found the culprit, it was an easy solution for our techs to change that setting, run through the wizard with them (since they were on the phone anyway) and if they wanted, we walked them through changing it back.

The bad thing is I've run into it off and on over the years in other software as well. It's just been so long since I had to deal with it that your description didn't trigger my memory on this one. I think the last time I dealt with it was in early 2006 and it was another case of a dialog box coming up in a program where we couldn't click the buttons to advance through the settings the program needed.

Anyway, still not a totally new issue, and since it's been around so long I doubt Microsoft considers it something needing to be corrected. As I'm getting older, I wish they would correct it though since my vision isn't what it used to be and my screen resolutions are higher than what they used to be.

    Again, welcome back.

    Ditto.
  17. The first thing I'd try is to shut off the StarDock programs you have running and see if that resolves the issues. ObjectDock and ImpulseDock are the two I see running.

Also, make sure that WindowBlinds is not trying to skin CoH. Set it as an exception.
  18. I'm not getting this behavior either.

As a side note, AoC is a DirectX game. CoH is an OpenGL game. Comparing how the two games operate on your system is much like comparing Oranges and cuts of beef. Not even close to the same thing so comparisons are irrelevant.

Your video card driver installation appears to be corrupt. Since the sound card drivers are showing a standard date format, that leaves out the only other explanation for the odd date showing on the video drivers. Since it also isn't showing a driver version, that has me concerned.

I'd recommend downloading the most current drivers for your laptop, downloading and installing Driver Sweeper, uninstalling your video card drivers, rebooting to Safe Mode and cancelling any hardware installation wizards, running Driver Sweeper to remove the remnants of the nVidia video card drivers, reboot into normal Windows and cancel any hardware installation wizards then running the installer for the drivers you downloaded.

You may want to try the nVidia Mobility Modder tool and download the newest drivers from the nVidia site and modifying them with this tool so that you can install more current (non-Toshiba) drivers.
  20. Close the game completely as well as any other running programs. Shut down the computer, wait 2 minutes and power up the computer.

Don't launch any other programs, just launch CoH.

Are the deleted characters still there? If Yes, file a support ticket at http://us.ncsoft.com/en/support/

    If No, enjoy the game.

Either way, welcome to the forums.
  21. This is another bug in Clockwork attacks that was fixed during Beta but seems to have worked it's way back into Live.

You may want to PM Castle about it.

Yes, but you won't have a Fear component so you won't run around screaming and waving your arms like members of the Paragon Police Department as you Burn.

  23. Actually, the /bug command has been working since the original beta. Sometimes. Off and On. And when you type /petition and select the Bug option, it actually converts the /petition to a /bug as it is sent. But, I'll admit that it's mostly a matter of semantics in that instance. Some aren't aware that the two are different things going to different departments.

The only reason I suggested zoning first is that some aren't aware that some badges at times seem to need that. Even after all this time, I can't tell by Join Date on the forums how long someone has been active in the game. And sometimes long-time players don't know about simple solutions like that.

Danged edumacators must be rubbing off on me at work. I'm starting to sound like them.

    ICK!
  24. That word. I do not think it means what you think it means.

Perhaps you were thinking of viscous instead.

Although it's clear, even without context, that the word the writer's apparently didn't know how to spell is vicious. I'd drop in an image of the wrestler sometimes known as Sid Vicious (and no, not the one where you see his leg snap during a match) to emphasize the spelling, or an image of the punk rock bassist of the same name but I'm afraid it might not make it past the moderation team.
  25. Try zoning. There are issues at times with badges not awarding until the character zones.

If nothing else, it's worth a shot.

By the way, petition goes to the GM's not to QA or Tech Support. So no, you didn't bug it by filing a /petition. Only a /bug report goes to Tech Support and the QA team. Most of the GM's won't file it as a bug so that it goes to the correct department.
