Well. First thing: Windows 7 Starter 32-bit (6.1, Build 7600) (7600.win7_gdr.100226-1909)

The Starter edition is severely limited.

Second thing: the system is telling you that you don't have an appropriate graphics driver installed. You need to get an appropriate graphics driver installed.

The driver HP lists is from 4/25/2010 and is version 8.14.10.2117 A: http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/s...32383&sw_lang=

The driver Intel lists is from 4/18/2010 and is version 5.12.75.50.5.2117: http://downloadcenter.intel.com/Deta...=3235&lang=eng

Obviously, HP and Intel aren't sharing driver versions.

More than likely the Intel driver will contain the OpenGL support you are looking for.

none of those suggestions helped... i have litterly installed drivers from hp and intel....

it helped before but isint working now.

Then you need to contact HP and have them assist you in getting the drivers correctly installed and functioning. That error message is generated when the game engine cannot detect the correct OpenGL support in the drivers.

It is possible that you have a corrupted driver installation caused by remnants of the old driver being left on the drive after you uninstalled the old driver. You did uninstall the old driver first before installing the new driver?

If HP support can't help you get the driver installation problems resolved your only other option would be to back up all of your documents, pictures, etc. and have HP assist you in a full restore of your system back to how it was when you got it from HP.

Not being familiar with their netbooks, I don't know if HP has a recovery solution using a recovery partition on the hard drive or what their procedure is. If it's like most netbooks, it doesn't have a CD or DVD drive and probably doesn't ship with restoration software on that type of media.

You can try to see if the netbook manufacturer, or the manufacturer of the motherboard (check both!) has an updated driver for the CPU chipset (not the GPU, but the CPU).

The Atom processor for Netbooks is a very low-end solution meant to only support very basic web surfing and basic programs such as a word processor. It was *never* intended to run modern 3D gaming. Even with two of them, this might be considered "below minimum specs".

Did you uninstall one driver before trying the other?

I just upgraded the same computer from Windows 7 32-bit to Windows-7 64 bit and ran into this problem (first time I have ever seen it). I upgraded the drivers for the Graphic Card (Nvidia 8600) but it did not help. Suggestions?

... Drugfree. You really need to create a new thread for this, especially if you have a graphics card other than Intel. Otherwise the thread gets confusing to anybody searching for an issue with their graphics card.

Anyways, if you cross-graded 32bit for 64bit, the drivers are not compatible.

Chances are the 64bit version is still holding registry entries or file placements from the 32bit compiles.

Go run driver-sweeper, then install the Nvidia driver

I installed a separate windows 7 installation on 64 bit. The 32 bit installation is still there ... so no old drivers should affect anything, should they?

And for the thread, doesn't just people search for keywords to find threads? I just searched for the error message and found this thread, that's why I figured it made most sense to just continue on it

yes / no / not really

This thread was about an Intel graphics problems. Solutions for Intel graphics probably are not going to work for solutions on Nvidia graphics.

... okay. When you say separate, do you mean as
on a completely different physical hard-drive?
on the same physical hard-drive and different Windows System folders?
on the same physical hard-drive but different partitions?
