    Really

I go into walmart and buy a hair dryer and then return it saying it doesnt have enough power, clerk says the watts is right on the box.

I say I dont like it, doesnt get my hair dry, I want my money back

They will give me my money back even if I was wrong and didnt read the wattage.

The customer is not always right, but a business does need to go a little above and beyond to accede to a customer when it costs them more to fight it.

Its not worth having me be bitter and leave for a few months for the 10 dollars, even if I dont stay gone forever.

Loosing 10 dollars compared to loosing 45 as I go somewhere else for 3 months because Im feeling ripped off.

Im not saying I will leave forever, but I have left for months when I felt ripped off or even longer, I left for the entire period between i6 and i9 because the game was 10 steps past horrid dreg as ED was in but inventions was not.
No the customer is frequently wrong and often a raving idiot. Smart businesses find that there are less than 10% of the customers who complain that result in 90% of the customer support time. And is very smart for a business to cut those customers loose because they cost the company far more in time and resources than they make from the customer.

So it is in a businesses best interest to cut loose and see out the door repeat complainers.

Actually tip missions can be gotten by any body. It is that 11th alignment mission that requires the alignment system. If you don't have that you don't get the alignment tip when you fill your alignment bar.

I'm not certain. I expect its oh 75% likely you could play the character but not move their alignment either direction. IE do the actual alignment tip missions to move alignment. And 25% likely the character would be locked out.
  5. Well the question of who is The Doctor really goes back at least to the Fourth Doctor and maybe longer. Not having seen all of the 1 - 3 Doctors episodes I'm not certain if any hints where dropped there. But with the Fourth one some hints during his tenure as President and around those episodes on Gallifray imply he knows more than the person he claims to be should. This comes up a couple of times later and then the Seventh Doctor takes it and runs with it. There was heavy implication during that Doctors term that he knew alot more about the founding of the Time Lords and possibly the original ruling Triumvirate then he should. He plays with toys belonging to Omega and Rassilon as if they where his own. They respond to him and obey his orders when he uses them. Much is implied that he may be older and not exactly what he appears to be during that time.

The books do the same thing but who knows which of those are truly cannon and which are not any more the BBC kept changing things. Some of the books make some explicit claims that are likely not true. After all Rule One is that The Doctor LIES. And it is very possible that this entire existence as The Doctor is one of those lies possibly a huge one.

Consider that even the might of the Time Lords was brought against him by the founder of The Time Lords and he defeated them.

    So really Dr. Who?
  6. I wonder about that question. It is implied that the question he answers is.

    Dr. Who?

But why would that answer be so dangerous? Unless some of the wilder speculations about the true nature of The Doctor are true. But it will be interesting to see where they do go with that.
  7. Yes I'm wondering how far back Artie can reset time with that watch. I don't think he can rewind time past the point he collected it. But I'm not certain how far back he can turn it. I'm wondering why they didn't put the bomb in that little shielded bubble.

I'll say this that was a far better end for HG if they go with it than just being Janused.

Good point about the detective hijacking the waypoint. I put a suggestion that this stop over in the suggestion forum after reading about this. It really is excessive and tends to lose players from their primary mission trail.
  10. It made sense when radios were first introduced but really it is a bit over the top to continually do it. Worse it appears that new players don't realize this is what happens and lose the trail of missions they are following the moment they go to Kings Row. Yes they need to get a radio from a detective, but not at the expense of trapping them in only radio missions.

Twinshot pops up but he often doesn't stay in the contact list until you do his first mission.

    See post something like this.

    Chocolate Cream Pie Martini Specifications:
•1-1/2 ounce Pinnacle Chocolate Whipped Vodka
•1/2 ounce Coconut Rum, coconut Jack, Cruzan, Parrot Bay and Malibu all will work
    •2 ounce ½ & ½, or heavy cream

No the game is not going hybrid F2P because the game needs more players. It is going hybrid F2P because that path has shown that it brings in great buckets of money.

So if you just play for free and don't spend anything on them they aren't all that interested. But if you play for free and throw bucket loads of money at them then they will perk up. Because they have made no secret about it being the bucket loads of money driving the decision and not needing more players.

Remember the whole process has taken over 2 years to implement so this was no rush job for more players.
  14. I suspect it was the fact that there were bugs with the costumes. If my dragonoid guy with the moving reptile tail uses the Paragon Police costume his tail is still visible flicking back and forth behind this cop.

Kind of looks strange seeing that tail sticking out that way. So if I had to guess and I am, there are other costume parts that also were breaking the costumes.

Yes they are being kind. I think the logic of 1 month = 1 token and 1200 points = 1 token is the same. Ie bought one at a time the price of either is $15.00 but but bought in bulk both give you discounts. So buying multiple months of subscription is less than $15 a month and buying points in bulk means that technically 1200 points isn't equal to $15.00.

But rather than count any of that they simply said 1 month = 1 token and 1200 points (purchased) = 1 token. Regardless of the actual amount of money spent to acquire those points or months. Which is them being smart in this case.
  16. Correct as a free player you only have 2 character slots total. You have to pick a server than unlock a character slot on that server.

Note: And having just looked on the character select screen at the very top left corner is a circle icon with a head and shoulders. Next to this button it will tell you how many slot unlocks you have available.

Yes Mozilla is doing something really stupid with Firefox right now. For some bizarre reason they decided that things would be better if instead of calling new updates of Firefox ... 4.3, 4.4, 4.5, 4.6 etc that they call them 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, etc. The problem is that lots of websites are designed to check the release number and for major changes in the number block the new browser until it has been confirmed as working. And Firefox releases a new update every 6 or so weeks.

I'm afraid I don't have that. I only have "Search this site" and Language at the top. It's a firefox issue. If I use IE I have it at the top.

Wouldn't it be supremely cool to have this as a cape option but when your character stood idle for a certain length of time they would automatically go into an emote where they wrapped it around themselves to get snuggly?
So clearly there is a need for a clanket emote.

Quoting from the COH website announcement of the Science booster.

But there's more! The Super Tailor is a new Tailor NPC called the Cosmetic Surgeon, located near existing Tailors and enabled through purchase of Super Booster III: Superscience. The Cosmetic Surgeon can modify your character's height, build, body type, and even gender in each of your costume slots. Transform from a 98-pound weakling into a huge beast! Experience spontaneous gender reversal! These amazing things are possible with--science!

Edit: I found this out when my friend who has bought all the boxes came back yesterday and has both ATs locked out.
That is easy and the same exact point being made about Incarnates. At no point on those boxes or other sources are you explicitly told that you bought access to master minds and controllers.

The exact same thing applies to Incarnates. So since nothing ever explicitly sold you Incarnates, Master minds, or Controllers they can remove them from being free.

If there is a piece of "epic" gear there is a way I can use it and if there is a legendary ability there is a way I can get it.
And I believe that this was a serious tactical mistake on their part. The reason I've never bothered resubscribing to DnDO is that there literally is no point in it. I gain no real benefit from subscribing. And if there is no benefit that can't be gained in some other way why bother subscribing? Lots of people feel that way.

So holding these up as good examples isn't I think a good idea because I think that specific point is a failure on their part.
