I have another one for you. In missions where you are supposed to prevent an enemy from escaping, the enemy now runs as soon as they spawn. They used to wait until 25% health to do so. As a result, if you don't happen to catch them when they try to run past you, you will usually fail the mission. This seems to happen in every mission of this type, both hero and villain side.
I've only noticed this since I16 went live. -
Day jobs don't work for Kheldians while in Nova or Dwarf form. At all. I have 2 kheldian characters and couldn't find a single day job between them that still worked while in forms. Even the auto-powers and end-of-mission bonuses stop working.
This bug may pre-date I16, since I recall seeing it before.
Also, not sure if this is a bug, or intended - the Peacebringer heal, Glowing Touch, has a really low range to it. Its only 30 feet compared with 80 feet for every other ranged single target heal in the game. If its not supposed to be that low, can it be increased? -
Hi Manticore, Thanks for taking the time to answer some questions. I just have a couple for you.
Since they apparently won't be appearing in game as epic archetypes, can you give us some information on the backstory of what the various epics would have been? Coralax, Blood of the Black Stream, Avilans, Incarnates, etc?
Is some of the older content going to be updated to match some the in-game events in the last couple of years? There are some pretty big conflicts in the story as it is right now. I'm specifically thinking of things like:
- Positron's TF (whose whole point was to prevent the Faultline dam from being breached and flooding the zone. You're told in the TF that if the dam were to rupture and flood, that it would be a disaster and Paragon City would be without power for weeks. Since Issue 8, the Faultline dam has been ruptured and the zone is flooded)
- War Wall Defender mission (point of the mission is to prevent the war walls from coming down and causing another invasion. As of Issue 10, the war walls regularly fall and invasions happen)
- Ambassador Kuhr'Rekt's first story arc (villains sabotage the Traditionalist negotiations, which seems to conflict with the same villains helping to save the negotiations as members of Vanguard in the RWZ arcs) -
Quick question:
To try to get recipes in arena pvp, does the match have to be rated?
I've tried a few unrated matches and got nothing, but the drop rate is so low anyway, that I wasn't sure. -
I got one today villain side for 150 million, and it was level 25 - a bargain.
On my level 50 dominator it heals for 79 per tick. -

Oops, I had been contrating on making teleporters with base Salvage. Now with this recipe list, I see that I should also be crafting these for personal inventory, since I really like the look of each of them as a nice blend of decorative/functional.
Thanks, Cende & Talek!

Is there a way to actually get the Mystic Overseer? I saw the picture of it on Paragonwiki, but I had heard that you can only unlock it with scheduled base raids, which have never been available on live.
Edit: Here is the picture from Paragonwiki. -

I see people being *pissed* in some instances. Looks like I'm going to be making sure to copy all my 50s as they sit *now* over to look at this specifically. (Well, except the Khelds - no APPs, obviously.)
I don't see things like Char (Pyre/Fire epic for blasters or tanks) going away, but I wonder what *is.* Stalker Snipes, I think I'd put money down on (though what if you have the set in it?)
Hope they're ready for some screaming.

You know, its possible that Kheldians are finally going to get an epic power pool. If it happens, it would certainly answer Castle's responses that he had something in mind to make human form valuable to play. -
Also on the Freedom server:
Freedom Badge (full) -
I can watch the video live, but for some reason the chat doesn't work for me.
So if anyone gets a chance, can they ask my question for me?
I was going to ask if the additional costumes that NPCs have from Issue 12 will be made available to players - the Minotaur, Sybil, and Foreshadow costumes. -
Hi Joe,
Ever since Issue 7 was announced, with its level 40-50 villain content, I had been looking forward to seeing the Praetorians on the villain side. I thought it would be fascinating to see just what happened to the Praetorian versions of the signature villains. Unfortunately, they weren't included in that issue and still haven't been in any issue since. Are there any plans to add a Praetorian arc into the villain side? -
Something I didn't see on the list, can we have it added?
The Untouchable badge no longer seems to be awarding for villains. Or at least it isn't tracking anymore. In my case, I have the bar alf full from hunting during Issue 6. And no matter how many regular family bosses I kill now, the bar no longer moves. -

PLAYER VERSUS PLAYER
You dont' NEED all the badges in the game, some are optional or gained through happenstance, as far as I know, the ones gained in PvP are optional or happenstance. (I KNOW I'll be corrected on this! lol)
[/ QUOTE ]
For villains, PvP badges are less optional then they are for heroes. Several villain accolades require badges that can only be gained in PvP zones. True, the accolades aren't required to play the game, but some of them do provide significant benefits. Also, it seems a bit unfair for villains considering that heroes can get the same thing without PvP badges. -

Other than telling when Hami's held this is a fairly minor issue; if the taunt tank has a decently slotted taunt then it should be really hard for griefers to steal aggro. We had a SG try to grief our raid on Guardian a while back by starting taunt first, then dragging the aggro into the hold group, and while the griefing tank had Hami aggro we were unable to get it away from him.
[/ QUOTE ]
Taunt enhancements affect only the duration of the taunt, not magnitude. It is indeed possible for a griefer to steal aggro from the aggro tank. In fact, it can be done accidently with Gauntlet from a tank that is just trying to get their hit in. I have seen it happen many times in the I4/5/6 hami raids. With the changes to aggro in I7, it may even be easier for the Hami aggro to be diverted then it was in the past. -
[ QUOTE ]
So - here it is.
Added to the patch notes:
The Hamidon has been increased in difficulty. It is now capable of using one of its attack powers even when Held, Slept, or Stunned.
[/ QUOTE ]
Can this please be reconsidered? The potential for griefing a Hami raid has just dramatically increased with this change. Before, if hami was held, the hold team knew that they were relatively safe, even if the hold was dropped for a second. Now that is no longer the case. Any character with a taunt power can now grief the raid at any point. Even after Hami is held and being killed. And if a griefer does this when Hami is below half health it will cause a mito spawn and therefore a failed raid. I have personally witnessed griefers attempt to draw Hamidon aggro onto the hold team many times in the past. The attempt would fail because Hami did not attack while held.
In fact, now that I think of it, even a well-meaning tank who is just trying to get their hit in so they get a Hami-O could fail the raid if they attack during the hold phase. Again, please reconsider this change. -
I am finding that aggro is very odd now in I7 as well. Let me post a non-hamidon experience to illustrate this:
A couple of days ago, my SG had a fake nemesis hunt in Peregrine Island. We had a couple of high level characters killing the fake nemesis, and also had several low-mid level characters with invisibility powers scouting them out. I was playing a level 14 illusion controller. I had superior invisibility on the entire time.
The plan was that I would go and find fake nemesis, and then the tank on our team would come and beat them down. In reality, I found that even though I did not attack, I was fairly often attacked by the minions around the FN as soon as the tank got anywhere near them. It was very odd. So here would be the scenario:
I find a Fake Nemesis.
Tank with invincibility running attacks FN.
Minions around the FN turn and attack me.
This was odd for a couple of reasons. First, the tank should not have been able to lose aggro with an auto-taunting aura up. Second, I was invisible and did not attack. How could the minions even see me? Third, I was outside of melee range and not standing next to the tank. My invis should not have been supressed by anything. Something is very odd here. -
Actually, you may be right, Iodine. I remember asking Positron about the /cov 1 command that heroes were using to get villain costumes.
He said that the reason that the command didn't allow heroes and villains to go to each others zones was because of some code they added in late beta or early live release. They had been having a problem with villains occasionally zoning to Atlas Park and they couldn't completely fix the problem. And the way the game is designed is that we don't actually have pvp or non-pvp zones. Literally every zone is the same, with the exception of Pocket D. Meaning that if a hero were to find his way to the rogue isles, he would be able to attack or be attacked by any villains there. And the same if a villain somehow made it to a hero zone. That could be a huge problem if, for example, a level 50 hero ended up in Mercy Island. So what they did to solve it was add some code that read your AT and if somehow you ended up in a zone from the opposite faction, you would automatically be put back in Atlas Park or Mercy Island. That was why when using the /cov 1 command, heroes would get the Mercy Island loading screen, then just as the zone loaded they would be sent to Atlas Park instead.
I imagine that they would have quite a bit of work to do if they wanted to make changing sides possible, just because of this problem. -
Sorry, but I didn't ask. I suppose you will just have to keep speculating.
-
I forgot to post these earlier, but they are also things that I learned from the event. Again, as before, this is all subject to change.
Heroes going bad/villains going good - Positron indicated that this won't be coming any time soon. I got the impression that it hasn't been abandoned, but there are just too many other things that are higher priority.
Next year's expansion pack will include:
At least one new powerset for each AT (either primary or secondary, probably not both)
The zone that got the most votes on the boards a couple months ago. CuppaJo said that she was really excited about it, but coudn't talk about which zone it was that won. -

Really though, you should have gotten credit for the thread. I just contributed to it. And actually now that I think about it, there were a couple other things I learned from the event and forgot to post. -

Heroic animal-themed costumes - Sounds nice but not a high priority.

Oh dear God... terrifying. Looks like we're going to have a lot of scary furries running around Paragon. Nothing worse than furries.
[/ QUOTE ]
Um... We already have furries. There are tons of wolf and bat themed villains and a few heroes already. And there are certain to be more in I7. I would just like to see some heroic animal costumes to go along with the villainous ones. After all, my main character is supposed to be a minotaur. -
Hmm. I was under the impression that Boomtown was being worked on. Although now that I think about it, when I asked the question I mentioned all three zones.
Oh, and this might help too:
I remember asking why the villain map of Boomtown (the instanced mission with it partially remodeled) wasn't just brought over to heroes. Positron said that they had changed what they wanted to do with Boomtown, but the art had already been done so they gave it to the villains for a mission. -

SG size issues, such as basing membership on account rather then character -They looking into it, but its not a high priority because relatively few supergroups are running out of space.
[/ QUOTE ]
Um, what the heck are they smoking? With alts in a SG, it only takes 20-25 people to max out SG (or be close to this.)
Just because you only have 72 or so, doesn't mean you didn't want more people in the SG.
[/ QUOTE ]
QFT
Much of my SG consists of altoholics like me or people with multiple 50s and too much free time on their hands. We've got coalitioned splinter groups to handle the larger numbers but none of the prestige those alts earn can go to supporting the main SG base.
[/ QUOTE ]
Yeah, but your SG isn't typical. Most players don't have multiple level 50s. I agree that any large SG is going to run out of space and I'd like to see it change too, but I think Positron had a point. There are tons of small SGs out there with only a few people in them. Even more if you count all the one-person supergroups. Percentage wise, there really may not be all that many large SGs. I think that we just tend to be more vocal about it -
I went to the NcSoft event too and had a chance to ask Positron and CuppaJo lots of questions. They were very patient and answered almost everything I asked. Here is what I remember (all subject to change, of course):
Wings, Trenchcoats - Both are coming very soon. Trenchcoats will be unlocked by the long term subscriber program. Wings are costume options and will not be specific to any certain AT.
I asked Positron if currently exclusive villain powers will be made available for heroes. His answer was "we have discussed it". He wouldn't say anything more on that.
Updates to Boomtown, Faultline, and the Rikti Crash Site are currently being worked on and expected for Issue 8. We will be able to enter the ship. The zones are being redesigned with new art, contacts, etc using Striga and Croatoa as models.
They are datamining lots of base stuff including base rent. There will probably be some adjustments, but no promises there.
Hero/Villain teaming - There will be lots more coming. Some big threat/enemy will require heroes and villains to put aside their differences and work together.
Pocket D - lots more stuff is coming.
SG size issues, such as basing membership on account rather then character -They looking into it, but its not a high priority because relatively few supergroups are running out of space.
Skills - Not coming. Ever. They tried 9 different systems and couldn't find a fun one.
Universities - They will be doing something with them in Issue 8.
Game Events - More are planned. There will be a Halloween/Fall event this year.
Level 50 content - Currently in the works. This has become a higher priority because the percentage of players with a level 50 has grown.
Fighting an evil version of yourself - Its something they would like to do, but it would require quite a bit of programming. The biggest issue would be for masterminds, since there is currently no AI to handle NPC versions of them.
5th Column - They are going to be coming back. The gladiator badge is not all we will see of them.
Heroic animal-themed costumes - Sounds nice but not a high priority.
Positron said that badge junkies will hate him for one of the villain I7 contacts - There is a badge that you can only get if you complete all of a certain contact's missions. And every mission is timed and can be failed. He said that the times are not long, but not so short that it is impossible. Also, you can only get the badge by doing the missions yourself. joining someone else for them will not award it.
Server transfer - It is in the works. There will likely be a fee for doing it. This is because they can't completely automate the process and will have to hire people to move characters over and change names when necessary.
Again, please note that this is all subject to change and to my own memory of what was said there.
