And the Knockback set, forget the name...let me look that up: Kinetic Crash. Slot 4 of them into, say, Kick (need Boxing or Kick to get Tough) and you get 3 points right there. And they are CHEEEEEEEEAP.
-
I love my Cold Defender.
Cold/Ice, 45 atm, with the Devestation (iirc) Chance for Hold Proc in all 5 attacks in which I can slot it. THen in the two single target holds I have the Lockdown chance for +2 Mag hold. She is a little holding beast.
Add in Sleet and Ice Storm (and Blizzard every 3-5 minutes) on darn near every spawn and she contributes very well to damage, + team defense and holding just about everything she hits.
Holding an AV on two hits, from a Defender, is sooooo cool. -

Shield Charge recharge is under 20 seconds now...not sure of the exact time. 19.6 iirc
My AoE attack chain is Rage + AAO (run into crowd) Shield Charge -> Footstomp -> Fireball -> Sands of Mu -> Footstomp -> Fireball -> Sands of Mu -> Shield Charge -
Just one? ONE???
Sorry...I have 54 "mains" on Inifinity alone so...I can't do just one.

...ways!
OK..my goal here is to see how many different ways people have defeated Rommie on the lat mission of the ITF.
I will start with the ways I have personally done it.
1. Bum rush him! Just over damage the Nictus' ability to heal.
2. Confuse Rommie, who then ganks his fluffy buddies...then curb stomb Rommie since he has no support now.
3. Snipe the fluffies w/o aggro'ing Rommie. Then beat Rommie down since he has no support.
4. Pull and seperate the healing Nictus from Rommie, beat him the required number of times with squishies diving for cover when he drops.
5. TP in to make two Rommies...OK...not reaaaaallly a tactic, just fun.
Anyone else? -

I think farming is a boring waste of time. Play the game instead.
[/ QUOTE ]
Unless of course, you consider farming to be part of playing the game. In which case, farm away.
[/ QUOTE ]
Except...it's not
Space Invaders is more engaging than farming
[/ QUOTE ]
Not everyone has the same definition when it comes to playing game. Shocking isn't it?
[/ QUOTE ]
I'm guessing from the snarky answer, you think farming is highly entertaining?
With the advent of Mission Architect, we have the opportunity to add a staggering amount of content to play. Far too often, it's used to farm, It's not playing an engaging plot. It abusing the system. Farming isn't playing, it's abusing the system. One isn't playing the game, they're playing with themselves.
[/ QUOTE ]
Official farming thread over that way ----->
If you want to whine and try and impose your views on others then do it there were we can ignore you propper. Otherwise stick to the topic of the thread.
Speaking of that, yea I would have to aggree with what others have said. Shield/SS/Pyro would be most damage but quite hard on the blue bar. Shield/Fire/Pyro is much cheeper to make decent.

I hope not. The combos are what ultimately makes me drop my DB characters, even my level 50. I don't like feeling confined.
[/ QUOTE ]
I don't see how that is confining. You don't have to do the combos.
I think it is a great idea to a similar combo system inserted into pistols. And I hope they give them to the Corruptor as well and not just the Blaster.
[/ QUOTE ]
you don't have to do the combos, but if you don't do them, you're effectively gimping yourself.
[/ QUOTE ]
No your not. (snip)
[/ QUOTE ]
Yes. You are. The combos are factored into the Dual Blade system. So for the sake of balance combos are factored in. If you don't combo you are't working at that balanced level ergo you are "gimping" yourself. Maybe not by much but "gimped" none the less. -
My 39 Fire/Mental still uses Firebreath. Start with Scream, the breath then fireball for AoE goodness.
Yeah...I really want "World of Confusion" to be good....it's low end use is the reason I still use it. It "can't hurt" mentallity comes into play. Meh... -

I've gone through about 2 million tickets now so I have tried many different strategies to make inf. My recommendations are:
Characters level 1-49 = buy rare 45-50 Salvage.
Characters level 50 who generate 10k tickets a day or less = Buy 30-34 bronze rolls and craft into enhancements.
Characters level 50 who generate 20-30k tickets a day = Buy 30-34 bronze rolls and only sell ones worth 500k and up.
Characters level 50 who generate over 30k tickets a day = Buy 30-34 Gold Rolls and craft into enhancements.
[/ QUOTE ]
How about a guideline for those of us who have a level 50 but only seem to manage to get about 600 tickets per hour?
I suppose I just don't have the right combination of powers on my 50th level toons to be able to clear the missions that fast.

Actually I was hoping for a clue on how to generate 30K+ tickets per day. I mean that's what? 3000 tickets per hour?
But I guess you have to have a Billion+ IO'd out, AoE machine in order to pull off something like that.

On my 41 tank, join a PuG of 40-ish. Ranging from 38-41. It's an train mish, you know...the one where you go to a train station and one of your options is the active mission? An outdoor instanced? OK...
39 Warshade joins the team. Usual banter begins, "Hi, how are you? Good, you?" blah blah blah...
Four of us, out of 5, are in the mission. Waiting on the last. I start going through team members, what powers, etc... I check the Warshade, expand the team window so I could see where he was and what was taking so long..he's in Oroborus. OOOOOooooK.
I ask, "What up yo?!" OK, that wasn't verbatim, but you get the jist. He then asks..."How do I get to that mission?"
O.o
Um...I kindly reply (as do two others) that you need to go...yada yada yada...I then mention that I think you can actually get here via the Orobous portal, when you leave Oroborus. He tells us, "Nope, not an option." We tell him to go to Talos or FF since the train station is really close to the Oroborus drop off point. He goes to FF.
At which point the lv 40 team lead, a blaster, asks "What's Oroborus?"
O.o
Um...OoooooK! I tell him, "Well, since sparky is taking a while...here I'll show you."
I drop the portal...we enter. I fly up to show him where the badge is, explain it (no vet badges), and go back to the Oroborus exit...and Lo and Behold! There it is...the option to enter his mission is there. Just as we click it the lost Warshade zones back into Oroborus.
O.o *quiver*
We go back into the mission...I then tell, sternly and fatherly, the Warshade that the option to get into the mission is indeed in the Oroborus exit menu.
All we get is, "Oh".

I am not sure on game mechanics, but I may have one possible answer as to why the WS couldn't see the mission (I assume you mean it was a Board Train mission). What if he had the window open before he joined the team?
Does anyone know if it will add the train mission option it the list of travel destinations?
[/ QUOTE ]
Perhaps I should fully explain: The Warshade player when to FF, to the train and couldn't find the mission. Then went back to Orobous so that is a moot point, I apologize for not specifying earlier. -
There is no real synergy that Dual Blades provides with any set, IMO. My first 50 tank was WP/DB and to be honest...meh. I am not the biggest fan of DB. IF the combos hit there are some nice debuffs/buffs but that's the key, they have to hit...all of them, in the correct order.
When you say synergy I wonder what you mean really...
Fire Aura is all about damage so any high damage secondary works best with it, IMO. That's why you see a lot of Fire/SS or Fire/Fire tanks out there. Then again there is FIre/Ice, which I have one of...it's nice for the Ice Patch/Burn combo.
Dark Armor, I honestly can't speak too much on it as all I have is a lvl 30 Spines/Dark scrapper that really needs a team to shine...then again I think I have waaay too many toggles on him at this point
So, in a pathetic attempt to answer your questions:
Fire works best with Fire, IMO, so you can best take advantage of Fire Armor's Firery Embrace (psuedo BU).
Dark works best with...well...I am not sure.
So there ya go...you just wasted a good minute of your time reading my drivel. -

I suggest WP/DM...the self heal in DM fills the only real hole in WP. With QR and Stamina you never stop scranking and it is wonderful!
-
Less resisted:
Spines
Dark Melee
Energy/Electric Melee
Fire Melee
Team well:
Tank (aggro control) [While Brutes, Stalkers and Scrappers are great on teams Tanks fill a pretty unique roll blue side, although they are not necessary]
IMO I would recommend Elec/WP Brute...but since you don't want WP how about jumping to tanks and trying a Ice/EM?
Ice is a defense based set with good, if not the best, aggro control and Energy Melee is good single target damage, especially post 35. -

I have found that silver rolls, 30-34 are spiffy. I got this idea from a SG mate so it's not original.
I have been hitting some nice procs in this range...and tons of Obliterations. -
Cold/Ice (right now...I am an altaholic after all)
Aim + Sleet + Ice Storm + Blizzard = EPIC FUN! -

Alright I was playing the game today, i was venting about this problem to my team, one person said that CoH (w/ vista) + nvidia graphics card = bad combination. He said he was going to give me a link, but never got around to it.
Does anyone know what this guy is talking about?
[/ QUOTE ]
No, IMO this game supports Nvidia the best. I mean there is a reason you see the Nvidia logo in the load screens
[/ QUOTE ]
I have that combo, and I can dual box with graphics set at maximum with ABSOLUTELY no problem what-so-ever.
But..I did have to get that SP ASAP! W/o it...bleh no worky work at all. Get the Service Pack and it is B.E.A.uuuuuuutiful! -
5 would drop:
Bash
SoW
and one of your Dark Mastery powers (not Gloom). And get the Fitness pool (Swift, Health and Stamina).
While not an expert when it comes to Brutes my WP Tanks never took SoW and never missed it.
