I see people getting ticked off playing Street Fighter and other video games all the time.

When did Hamidon become New Hamidon? I believe the last time I participated (both times with my level 50 FF/Rad Defender) there were no IOs or Market yet.
  3. I've only participated in a Hamidon battle a couple of times, and each time it was a lengthy and ridiculous process with an extremely meager reward. I can see why it might make it onto such a list.

    Naming Idea

The font idea has a nice comic book vibe to it, but it doesn't seem like it would work well in practice as a method of allowing duplicate names. It might be cool to use the idea just for custom name display purposes, though.

If the name you initially want is taken, then you have to come up with an alternative. That is an increase in difficulty, even though some may find it inconsequential. If the alternative is taken, then yet another alternative must be looked for, which is a further increase. The more characters that are created, the more likely it is that an initial name and alternatives will already be taken, and thus, naturally, it has become increasingly difficult to get a desired name for a character.

I'd say "yes" to all but one of those, and I think the majority would be happy with getting all but two of them.

Ah, my addled brain was imagining them (the casting and animation) going off one after the other rather than simultaneously. In retrospect, that makes absolutely no sense. Thankee all for slapping my brain around.
  7. I just want to make sure I'm considering this properly, and I figured the Scrapper forum might yield the fastest and surest answer about these particular matters. My understanding is as follows:

Powers do not begin recharging until after their activation (or cast, if you prefer - I believe the terms are synonomous in this context) time is over. Thus, if you can get the recharge time of the power to be equal to or less than the animation time of the power, it will be recharged by the time (or before) the power has finished going off.

Is that more or less correct?

None of the power pool powers are powerful enough to warrant it, I'd say.

I would, except I have all my characters set to only accept friendly e-mails, and you're no friend of mine... I mean that literally and without malevolence - I'm pretty sure you're not on my relatively short global friends list. So it would get lost in the ether.

Also, I'm not quite sure what my global is any more. It started out as @Von Benzer, but it may be @Tenzhi now. I seem to recall there being an option to change it and me taking advantage of said option.

Any "important" albums I'd store locally and, if I needed them to be publically viewable, on my blog. The latter stopped allowing direct linkage, however, thus it's not useable for my avatar (which is now back, and thankee).

I didn't see the word "money" until *your* post.

In other news... www.imgur.com, eh? I'll have to check it out myself. The last place someone recommended kept losing the avatar pic and thus I've been bereft of my associated imagery for quite some time.
  12. City of Heroes? Man, only cheeseball lamers play that game. And for five years, you say? You have a serious problem. Someone should stage an intervention.

The internet is a buffer of relative anonymity. Internet forums are largely made up of disagreements and associated criticisms. Adding a gaming aspect to it isn't so much indefensible as it is inevitable.

That would solve the problem and at first glance I don't see how it would be game breaking, at least for the standard pools.
I've always thought that's the way it should work.

@Arcanaville: In my experience, it doesn't let you give negative rep without a comment. It gives you a pop-up telling you that negative rep must have a comment. Of course, I suppose one could physically type in "N/A" as the comment were one so inclined, making this whole point moot.
  16. What is that muppety guy from? The Great Space Coaster or something?
  17. I'd go with "BOSS_DISPLAYNAME"...

Ah, blissful anonymity. I give rep for silly things, usually, and the rep I give doesn't always match up with the comment I leave. I don't generally bother signing it, but I've taken credit for it when someone questioned it openly in a thread before.

And for the record, I once gave Dark_Respite negative rep. Not out of malice, or even dislike of the comment in question, but rather because she said she was expecting it and I just had to oblige.

That's the way I treat it. It's like an XP bar waiting to be filled with either red or green. I'd prefer red, but I apparently don't go around kicking the right kittens for it.
  22. Perhaps you have to follow the Patron arc all the way to the end - learning about Project Destiny and fighting Lord Recluse?

  24. Surely, it didn't shut down without warning. Typically with scheduled maintenances there's an Admin message (or several at intervals) prior to shutdown.

That would probably be the last team I was on that failed it, whenever that was.

Just as long as they never make it as hard as the villain respec TF. I've been on that one about five times and still haven't seen it successfully completed.
