Hey, starting a new character today and I would like some levelling up advice, I have no experience with either rad/ or /dark so I would like some pointers on which powers are "must-have" at a lower level, or anything that will make my experience as smooth as possible.
This will not be running an i19 build, so fitness will have to be fit in before 20.

You would need 500-600% recharge on it, and that's just really not viable, go for softcap, it's fairly easy to do on an SR character

Yes, I answered according to the criteria he put on, ie with quickness taken into account

You need one +3 SO to get about 7 second downtime, 2 +0 SO to get an overlap of 13 seconds.

And a bit of end reduc is always niceIn the build posted about, the Damage/End in all of the purple slotted powers should be replaced with the Proc. Slotting the Damage/End is almost a complete waste, since the damage is already ED capped.

My friend does not like the move 'Combustion' out of Fire secondary, and plans on picking from Mace Mastery for the Web Envelope (group immob) power. No budget on this toon, so purples are okay.

Sorry for the noob questions....I keep starting new characters....havent gotten one past level 26, because I keep getting bored with them or finding they have issues that dampen my playstyle/fun. I think the most fun I've had so far is my bots/dark mm.....just wanted to make a toon that was self sufficient and not reliant on pets/teams.
2. No, but everything will be dead by the time you run out of endurance
3. I've seen widows do some amazing things to those rikti pylons, so I guess they could solo AVs. Farming, possibly, the Fortunata and the Crab Spider put out some level of AoE I guess, but they couldn't farm on their own. -

Gladiator Armour isn't so bad now that you have Hero/Villain merits. A few short missions each day and in 2 months you have it. Presently my main has 5 merits any my alts are building up them as well. by the end of next month or mid-the-one-after I'll have three Gladiator's Armour +def with a fairly minimal amount of work. -

You have Serum on nearly permanent (2 seconds downtime)
Spiderlings are permanent so they can blast while you get in the thick of it.
Call reinforcements has 2 minutes of downtime.
You have soft capped defences to all positions and strong resistances.
Attack chain is venom grenade AOE as you leap into the center, Frenzy, then Arm Lash and go through your ST attack chain.
Also: Stamina at 30? SJ at 32?
Weave is an incredibly hard powerpick (as it has two req powers) -

EDIT: The build's most expensive part would be the LotG: Recharges which go for about 200 mill each, but you don't HAVE TO have those, although they are nice. Touches of Death don't come cheap either, about 10-20 mill for each piece

I loved your introduction so much that I decided to whip something up for you.
This is, however, a PURE melee crab build, since I guessed that's what you wanted. And now you might say "Then why the venom grenade?". I'll tell you why: it's an amazing AoE resistance debuff, that debuffs your enemies' resistance by 20%, meaning you will deal 20% more damage to those enemies, regardless of your current damage boost levels.
As with all builds, it is open for moving around powers, changing some slots here and there, but it has respectable Defense numbers (40%/37.9%/26.3%) and a near permanent Serum, meaning you can have 50% more health most of the time. That along with good recharge rates, you'll be able to have Hasten up with a 10 second downtime, well, hopefully you'll enjoy it.

This is because the DoT remains unchanged, most of the damage now comes from a frontload which is about 3/4 of the damage that burn puts out.

Although this is a set I probably would not play, I find the idea intriguing and would love playing with a staff tanker or scrapper. Thumbs up!
