The design failure I'm talking about is the power incentivizing behavior no one likes. Even if you're one of the people that's comfortable ignoring players who spam chat with things you don't like, you can't really make the argument that needing to do that is a good thing.
[/ QUOTE ]That's not a design failure, that is, even if it is a problem, an unintended consequence. And it's a byproduct of bad players, and teaming with bad players, or being a bad player. Fortunately, difficulty curves generally stop those problems from persisting.
Become a better player and you shouldn't wind up with the problem. -

I am pointing out that you simply saying that something is a design failure doesn't actually make it a design failure, especially since you don't seem to understand what, exactly a design failure is. This is one of the vices of terminology, when people who don't understand it use it, it puts a veneer of intellectualism on the same old tired nonsense.
To dismantle your posts point by point and indicate every place you are wrong would take a great deal of time and effort, time and effort you would disregard because you have stepped into this discussion with the prior assumption that you are right and that people who know better than you are 'dumb trolls.' So I make do by pointing out large and obvious ways in which you are wrong and find to my surprise and delight that you can't even answer those, instead choosing to throw out accusations.

Plants/Fire has great damage (for a Dom), but little damage mitigation. It will be easier to level than Psi, and it has Consume, which will be easy to use with Seeds of Confusion to keep you at full endurance.

And Plants has plenty of damage mitigation - psi offers more than fire, but plant needs no help at all. I don't disagree with your final assessment, but I do think your opening statement needs work. -
Since you can't define Fun and don't seem to have the faintest idea how I play, after an evening of playing my plant/kin, I don't think I can provide you with a suggestion that will fit your predefined notion of fun. On the other hand, I can note that I don't like any of your ideas because they're fixing problems that only exist when you deal with bad players, including the player of the kin.

You don't see a lot of posts on gravity because the world is divided into these three camps: The people who levelled a gravity character and now assiduously demand that they are fine and fun and balanced because otherwise they'd feel like idiots for wasting their time, the people who can see how gravity has failings and know that if they actually say as much the first mob will bawl at them and call them 'pl'd crybabies' while they're trying to discuss game balance issues, and the other 99.9999% of the planet.
Gravity has some problems. You can ignore them. Gravity has some idiot proponents. I'd advocate ignoring them too. -

As far as Stars/Billz' discussion goes, it seems really weird that there's this discussion about tanker survivability, as if tanker survivability isn't designed to be overkill for solo play. -
Good thing too, since fire/rad and fire/kin are the only controllers out there. And they're both so overpowered when you extract them from farming situations.
