    Stj/Nin

Yay! Worked out the kink. Here's my StJ/Nin build:

    http://www.cohplanner.com/mids/downl...C9F37F05AFCBA5
  4. Finally, I'm able to copy my Mids data here. Here it is, a build inspired by Crysys with a few modifications done on it. What I'm going for in this build is softcapped defenses in all areas, even for iTrials. Let me know what you guys think.

    EDIT
Once i find one i'll link it here OP
I'd love to post my Build if I could, using the Wineskin version of MidsHeroDesigner on my Macbook and I can't seem to export it here for some reason. Would have posted all my builds if I could.
  6. DB is good, attacks are fast and has pretty good AoE. You'd like it, trust me.

Nin is a Stalker-exclusive set, so it's awesome. Avoid Smoke Flash, not as useful as it's planned out to be, and Kuji-In Retsu is god-mode for 3 minutes, though you don't need it if you softcap your defense.

Overall, DB/Nin is an awesome combination for a Stalker, and since your friend is a Nin/Nin, you two would have alot of fun killing together.
  7. Come on, guys! Wanna post my Builds here too. A little help, please?
  8. Awesome software to use, works perfectly on the Mac, but I have a problem.

Everytime I try to export my builds here, the paste doesn't work. Nothing shows up. Am I doing something wrong? Anyone care to tell me how to paste builds from MidsHeroDesigner to the forums? Thanks.

I've already achieved softcap, and I didn't take Hasten cause I love Kuji-In Rin on perma instead. What I can't get is Rebirth, seeing as how I'd like to have more survival, but sadly, got endurance issues all the time...

If his HP level goes up, his favor decreases, because it's related to how far below 50% of max his HP is.

I honestly don't think killing people directly affects his favor at all. I don't think people going to the hospital affects you at all.

Uh, no offense, but I've been running this a lot. There's no version of this trial where his regen does not become very high, because it's directly related to how low you get his HP. Again, this is not speculation.
I'll have to try again and see if there are any changes by tonight, and I'll let you know.

He has no power listed which does this. His Regen is very explicitly only a function of his HP, and this in particular is not speculation.

I have also seen him defeat several people and not had his health spike in any way not explained by his high regen. So I very much question this description.
Last night while we were running the trial, I did notice that when we brought his health down to 24, the Favor of the Well was at around 40, and at that time, he accomplished multiple kills on pets and lores, and with that, the Favor of the Well immediately decreased, and Tyrant's Health went up. This isn't something from the devs, it's from personal observation, plus the hints given out, especially the one that says something like: 'The Well shall favor the stronger opponent', and everytime he kills someone, I've seen his health just go back up. It doesn't matter how much DPS you're putting out, because as long as you give him something easy to kill such as summons or pets, the Favor of the Well will nullify it with a regen boost, and you'll end up with a failed mission.

Key to beating him is having a team ready to extinguish the lights and avoid any summons of any sort. Stop the Well from decreasing by avoiding death as often as possible, and Tyrant will not gain insane regen and avoid defeat. Give it a try.
  12. Basically, if they can ensure that the weapon draw always happens before the AS is executed, this problem should go away then.

Until then, just draw your weapon out before you initiate your AS.
  13. A few points:

    1. Every kill Tyrant makes will allow the Favor of the Well to decrease and grant him a health boost. His health is inversely proportional to the Well, so having the well to a 100 is ideal to kill Tyrant.

    2. The Lightning AoE attack of his covers a large area, and also targets random characters. Only way to escape is to either jump outside of the crater, or keep moving around.

    3. Extinguishing the Lights of the Well will grant a level shift to a RANDOM character, not everyone will get it. Timing for putting them out has to be right, otherwise, putting out the last Well just as the timer resets them all back is a waste.

The thing with his regen is that his Favor of the Well doesn't just randomly grant him any extra for nothing, it's only if he shows he is worthy, i.e, kills anything or anyone. Avoid having MMs summon pets and avoid using Lores to ensure he gets nothing to kill cause EVERY KILL COUNTS, with the assumption that you WILL run when you see 'The air around Tyrant crackles!'. Completed it twice yesterday with no problems at all, it's so much fun to get him down to 10 and then watch the -8 kick in...A beautiful sight to see.

Might keep it for leveling up though.

Still unsure how to slot to get anywhere near the softcap without sacrificing too much. Is it even doable without purples and PvP IOs? I am also thinking to go Body Mastery just so I can have 3 Performance Shifter procs and powers that don't require slotting.
I softcapped my StJ/Nin Stalker with the use of the Gladiator Armor IO, but you can do it without it as well. Numina's Convalesence set in Kuji-In Sha, Luck of The Gambler in Hide, Ninja Reflexes, Danger Senses, Weave, plus 2 Touch Of Death sets, Scirroco's Dervish, and one Mako's Bite plus Steadfast Protection defense and boom! Good to go.

Managed to have my build ready (Wineskin works wonders), but no idea why it isn't working. How do you export your builds here?

There are clear extra visual effects for Staff's AS, but they occur at the wrong time. There is a lag to a charge/electric effect around the staff, and then you stab, then there is a pause, after which there is a sudden surge in the air. It's all mis-timed and you can see it in the costume/animation editor as well as in game.

To make things worse, this also affects when the damage and fear effect is applied from AS. Mobs always have time to react when I use AS on them, sometimes even enough time that they get to attack back (even if they die from AS!). There is no way this is WAI.

Is this new with I23? Have people bugged this like I did in game? I'm also wondering if I should PM a dev about it... not sure if Synapse is the person or someone on the animation team. I've had longstanding issues where something is bugged for years by players, and the dev in charge of it only finds out about the issue when they finally see a player post or PM on the issue.
This was present on Beta long before Staff Fighting went live. I thought it would have been fixed with i23, but unfortunately, we'll have to wait a bit longer, seeing as how it only affects one power for one AT.
  16. Synesence

    Hybrid Slot

I thought it was Core that had the energy damage. I remember Radial as the one with the extra damage. Think if I'm not going with Assault, might go for Melee for some more defense and tank a bit more.

But for now, settled on Assault Radial.
  17. Is Hasten needed, along with Assault and Maneuvers? Just hit 47 on my StJ/Nin and slotted 5 LotG Global recharge already. Heard Hasten isn't needed, and never heard of Stalkers with Leadership powers. What do you guys say?

I've decided on my Secondary (Energy) But i cannot decide a Primary. It's between Staff Fighting or Street Justice. They both look awesome, I'm a pretty huge fan of the Weapon Holding Powersets. Dual Blades being my favourite. There's only one thing, putting me off either set and that is

Staff Fighting = AS Looks boring.
    Street Justice = No weapon.

I'd like some help making a decision, What you feel is better about either set.

Thanks in advance for the help.
Street Justice for a lot of damage, Staff Fighting for...damage.

Dual Blades for....dama--dammit, they're all good. Honestly, when you level them all up, you really forget about which is being better than the other. Some offer more AoE, some offer more ST. Sure, one is better than the other *Cough*Street Justice*Cough*, but it all comes down to personal preference.

Dual Blades are pretty good, they look great, especially with the Vanguard Sword skin, and the combos are pretty sick.

Street Justice is just seriously hard-hitting, doesn't look that cool, but hits really, really hard.

Staff Fighting is...so pretty! Damage is good on Stalkers with the Perfection of Body Stance all the time, and it hits pretty good.

In short, they're all good, give them all a try. There's no such thing as bad...I mean, REALLY bad...
  19. I've been told that the choice here is purely based on personal preference, but I'm wondering if certain pets have any slight advantages in certain attributes, like accuracy, or damage resistance, or such...

What Lore pets did you guys pick?

I usually use Caltrops in battles against multiple bosses, otherwise I'd like my enemies to surround me as I unleash a beautiful Spinning Strike. It's good to slow down the attack rates of your enemies when you're getting pummeled, and especially useful against tough Bosses in the early levels.

I did a Knives of Artemis tip mission on 1/8 and man....When you have more than 10 enemies throwing Caltrops on the ground, you realize how freaking annoying it actually is. Not only do they cancel out the ATO proc effect, but at the same time, if you don't actually move, you're pretty much dead.

    I really, really, hate KOA...

You mean Smoke Bomb? Yeah, I took it once. Didn't help much. You eventually find out that by the time you get access to that power, you should already have no problems that would require you to use it in situations.

Though I will say fighting clones is challenging when they pop that, fade into hide, and smack you with a critical...

You want criticals when Blasters can already stack damage with Defiance? Isn't that a bit too much?

Can anyone tell me how does the concept of Psy Melee work? Using the mind to land physical hits?
