  1. I think there's a lot of things they could do in New Orleans with Batman that could be really interesting.

I am most interested in the story and look forward to details as they emerge.
  2. I lack the imagination to believe it will be a good series if it makes it to air.

    Need help!

Verify your drivers are all up to date.

You may also want to head up to the tech forum since those guys really know their stuff.

I don't mind regular missions, arcs, and street sweeping (lol) being soloable at certain difficulties, but I wouldn't like seeing team-specific content done away with.
We don't need help typically. Teaming shouldn't be about needing help but about wanting to play with others and have fun doing so.

I enjoy getting together with others to smack down invasions and GMs because it is fun. The old simultaneous blinkies missions on the other hand tick me off because the only value the others have is just to be warm bodies.

The Devs could very well have come together and decided that they wanted people to come together and team certain content (i.e., not individual discretion). They could have decided that the minimum team sizes were there so that even if some people did drop, there would be enough people left on the team to be able to finish (i.e., not a random choice). They knew at the time that the TFs came out, or at least after ED happened, for sure, that a large majority of people couldn't solo AVs, and that almost all of the TFs out there end in an AV, and they didn't want people getting to the end only to find out that they couldn't finish it (i.e., based on objective distinction). None of that sounds arbitrary to me.

Just because you don't agree with them, and have built your character to such a degree as to make team-oriented content capable of being soloed doesn't mean that those restrictions are arbitrary.

Even if the Devs decided together that they wanted the TF to require a team size that was larger than they knew was enough to finish it, just in case people dropped or quit, then it was not an arbitrary number.
I am going to agree with Bill's assessment at least as far as the original TFs are concerned.

Why 3 for Posi, 4 for Synapse, 5 for Psyche, 6 for Citadel, 7 for Manticore and 8 for the Shards?

Just to numerically show an increase not because you ever really needed more than 2 or 3 players to beat down the AVs at the end of them.

So that does seem more like they chose the minimum numbers based on progression not any inherent difficulty in the TFs. I would consider them arbitrary in that way.

The Hollows Trial requires 8. No two ways around it and you're right they could have done that same kind of thing to all of the TFs but they didn't. In fact if you look at the required minimums in Paragonwiki it sure seems arbitrary.

Then along came villains and they started getting more thoughtful on what they really wanted for a minimum start up. Recent additions have a lot more meaningful start up requirements in my opinion than the originals.

If that is true then allowing soloability would not be an issue because they would not pursue it.

    It's always about 666 with you... =P
  8. For me 1 a-merit is = 50 merits + 20 million inf or 100 merits (5 random rolls)

On average I would say 1 a-merit is worth 50 million to me.

    To clarify the system:

If you start with 8 and 6 QUIT THE TEAM, it will be spawning for 2.
If enough people quit to reduce the task force to one person, it will automatically disband.

So you can find 3 people to start a Positron TF and then have one quit - it will be set to spawn for 2. You can do the same with any TF. You just need enough to start initially, then you need to keep at least one extra person on the team since the minimum to stay in a task force is a team of two.
You can do the old Posi TF solo in Ouroboros.

Even when I am "forced" to team to do a TF, I generally enjoy it more, because we are going faster. It certainly doesn't make me enjoy the game less just because I'm on a team.

And saying that people who can't team might as well unsub is ridiculous. It's not like they have to team the entire game, or to even get 99% of rewards in this game right now. Some rewards being team based does not negate all of the rest of the rewards in the game.
I think you omitted the upcoming issue with Incarnates where we have to be level 50. This isn't just any old PUG team situation where you can SSK everyone.

Also when I referenced people unsubbing it was still in relation to being unable to do the Incarnate stuff except on teams. People have been waiting for end game content and this is the big prize of that. If you tell them they have to team with a group of 8 50s in order to do it you are limiting their options. There are some who will just say forget it and leave.

For the record I am equally opposed to the new forced soloing in Praetoria.
  11. <QR>

Reminder to those who take the position that this is an MMO therefore you have to team: there are times when teaming or building a team of sufficient size is not an option unless you are on Freedom or Virtue.

Incarnate stuff is level 50 only. The more level 50s required to do it the fewer the people who will be able to participate in it and enjoy it.

You are welcome to hold the position of "too bad you need to team to get to do content" but that boils down to telling some people they may as well unsub which is not healthy to us all in the long run.

Also, almost all content is far easier on teams than it is soloing unless your teammates are complete morons. If anything stuff like the Incarnate stuff is less meaningful to team players than to soloists.

And ultimately in the end I don't care if someone wants to try to solo everything including the Hamidon. That does not negatively impact my gameplay. So I am all for lowering all things to being able to start solo even if it will not be possible for anyone to solo it.

Let's face it, if you have to force someone to team with you to accomplish something how much enjoyment are you and they really getting from being together to do it?

    Problem solved.

I'd be perfectly happy if Illusion completely disappeared. With two invisibilities, I don't know what's taking it so long. Can't stand that set. Yes, I've run it to nearly 40. Still don't like it one bit.
    Illusion is fun.

I have 4 Illusion controllers and what bores me about them is the controller secondaries (excluding Storm). I'd love to play some with the dom secondaries and domination.

  16. There is no theme or rhyme or reason to where my characters are scattered. I have intentionally at times copied characters or created them where I don't have any character like them for variety sake but usually it is just where ever I had room.

I wouldn't mind a better take on Luthor. I liked his use in Public Enemies. I guess it depends on how they plan to approach this.

But a million times no to yet another round of his origin.
  19. 1. Are you male or female? Male

    2. What ATs do you mostly play, and for what reason(s)? Warshade, flexibility. Brute/scrapper damage plus durability.

    3. Redside, blueside, purpleside, or any combination of the above? I play everywhere

    4. What are your favorite story arcs? Any Westin Phipps, any Television, Return to Vampyr Mountain, and War of the Fir Bolg

    5. What makes you like this game? Flying, mayhem missions

    6. What other games do you play? none really other than Bejewled whatever on Facebook

    7. How long have you been playing? Since May 7, 2004

    8. How many alts do you have, what is the average level range, and how many are level 50? 147 characters, 14 at 50, average level range is 20-24.

    9. Do you bother with softcaps, set bonuses, and all that numerical stuff? What difficulty settings to you normally use? Not softcaps. I like set bonuses though I am not sure they really help me as much as they amuse me. I am usually at +0 or +1 though some I run at +2 or at x3/+0.

I may not be the person you want advising you. I have 147 characters.

But of my 11 blasters I really enjoy the secondary Energy Manipulation and my current favorite primary is Dual Pistols but Fire Blast is an old favorite.

I'd recommend heading down to the Blaster section and read some guides until one strikes your fancy and give it a whirl.
  23. Of course we each can rank the following as we see fit and some may not be on this list for certain individuals but I don't think any super hero movie wants to be in this company:

    Spider-Man 3
    Batman and Robin
    Elektra
Superman IV: The Quest for Peace
    Superman III
    Daredevil
    Ghost Rider
    X-Men 3: X-Men United
    Catwoman
    Jonah Hex
    Hulk (Ang Lee one)
    The Spirit
    Superman Returns
    Punisher
    Supergirl

and many many more I am sure I have forgotten.

I don't know. I think in addition to all of the ones listed the OP might want to consider rolling up a few masterminds, controllers and blasters.
  25. He was involved in so many shows I liked. I am sad about his passing but glad for his work I got to enjoy.

I'll have to play a character that reminds me of one of his shows this weekend.
