2 things.
1 - I actually have the power.
2 - Ever heard of http://coh.nofuture.org.uk?
Am I the only one that uses it?
[/ QUOTE ]
I'm pretty sure it lists the power as doing -DMG, -ACC, -RES, - DEF, +Special , note the lack of Hold, though I assume the "Special" is either a Hold or the Animation.
Also, City of Data (yes I did check, however there's SQL errors all over the shop for the Noxious Gas pet summon that does the effects, although it does list Hold I severely doubt it's Mag1000).
I also find it odd that /Poison would get what is in effect three Holds in the set.
[/ QUOTE ]
I guess some people just don't know the powersets as well as others.
I'm sure you will see the light when he gets that part of it fixed again.
The hold part of poison trap is very poor in the poison set as is the one from neurotoxic breath.

I don't know what power you are on about as the heavies don't use the same noxious gas or poison trap that we are talking about.
What power are you on about? -
Hammerfall, Noxious Gas has a 4 second mag 1000 hold as one of its effects.
You are thinking of Poison Trap which is a totally different power which is nothing to do with Noxious Gas.
Consider yourself well informed now.
-
I never told you this, but ask Far-seer if there may be 'another way'...
I must go now...
*flees* -
This is working as intended. Its supposed to be hugely hard to resist it. I think its a Mag 1000 hold like the MM poison power Noxious Gas.
Technically possible to resist but in practical terms you will never be able to resist a mag 1000 hold. -
You are best off waiting until you have a lvl 50 before you go there. Then the debt means nothing.
-
Dwarfs have -15.57 protection to status effects at level 50.
Which means it takes 4 mag 4 holds(cont, dom) to hold a dwarf which will detoggle it.
-
I thought you were being sarcastic, as dwarfs do have inherent mezz protection.

rad/psi defender is THE #1 1vs1 build.
[/ QUOTE ]
There are a few builds that beat them though. Many controllers can.
IMHO ice/rad and ice/cold corrs are good in 1v1...though not sure how they would fair against a decent MM. Controllers to me still seem the best AT to handle solo pvp.

I'm not going to sit here and argue about which takes more skill and diversity to play. We all know that melee and squishies have different pro's and cons and I don't think one requires greater skill to play then the other. However, I wouldn't place any rules based on MY opinions. Base them on facts - not opinions.
IMHO - if someone wants to sit there and go for a draw then let them. Thats their choice and their way of playing - up to them how they play even if other people think its boring its a valid tactic if they think they can pull it off. I seriously doubt anyone would bother doing this. Again, I wouldn't base any rules on MY opinion. Just facts.
I think a league would have been better than a cup, with 3 for a win, 1 for a draw and 0 for a loss. That way people are encouraged more to win than to draw.
If it turns out in the end that a spines/regen beats 99.9% and a spines/SR beats 99.8% and a katana/BS beats 99.7% and someone has all 3 - then just let them enter them. Not thier fault they saw great potential in those 3 and saw better then anyone else how those 3 chars could pwn at solo pvp. Good on them for having the insight.
As for khelds - the dwarf is not an inherent power and nor is light form. If you class them as melee for being able to get mezz protection from their powers, then you have to class everyone as melee as its possible to get 1 from acro. You would certainly have to class bubble defs/conts and anyone with the psionic epic as melee...which is clearly wrong. -
Good point
And Khelds are not counted as melee AT's btw.....not sure what they are doing in that list at all. Is that an error? I think so....
Its a bit weird how someone could play an...
ice/rad cont
rad/rad def
ice/rad corr
but not play....
elec/elec brute
katana/em stalker
spines/regen scrapper
I consider the second group would require a greater variety of play style than the first group.
Still, Khelds have never been classed as melee so I don't know what that is about. -
Thats a change?
I still say that if someone wants to enter a scrapper, tank and a stalker, they should be allowed as much as someone who wants to enter a def, cont and a blaster.
BTW, I take it Khelds are counted as squishies as they have no inherent mezz protection. -

I say just let people enter their best 3 pvp chars. doesn't matter what AT they are.
Squishies, melee are all the same to me. All have their pluses and minuses and all are fair game. I make no distinction and if someone wants to enter 3 tanks, then let them. If they are seeking a draw, let them seek it and good luck to them.
How come there wasn't a bit saying that being a good pvp'er means knowing how to play a melee too? IMHO melee lag behind the others but everyone should be free to choose which 3 they enter.
-
I dunno like. I've fought a few psy/rads and have won something like 5-0 and 5-2. Trying to remember the names...one started with psy something (no surprise there really).
-
The first time was 0-0. The second time was 3-0 to me. I think you had ran out of the big break-frees from your SG.
Fully slotted HO's? You ever seen my enhancements? Clearly not...
And if you think you have to use more than 1 toon, I'd read the rules again if I were you. You might get a shock.

I seem to remember you lot having a no trick pony. And I'm afraid that my bubbler won't be in this one.

lol those no trick ponies have pounded u every time u've entered the arena in a team match

I don't take SC into team arena matches. I do seem to recall beating a tank though and the torrent of insults afterwards was appauling -

You not seen my other pvp chars? You 2 will be in for a shock then. Mind you, I don't think anyone except ash will get past the first one.
-
We all know its going to boil down to me. Plus my secret weapon for defeating radcone will be ready by then...
-
To everyone who said there are no rules. I assume you also approve of using mobs to help kill people?
-
I try to never argue with stalkers. Its a sure fire way to end up dead many times over.
I call them all sir. -
I mean whats the point in us all having combat jumping or superspeed if we are going to use them in a fight?
We should not be allowed to use travel powers or any other powers in a fight.
Thats why from now on, I will only have insps duels with people where we can only use insps to defeat each other and use no powers.
I fought far-seer recently using these rules. He beat me like a ginger step-child. I used 2 cabs and a bf. He used 2 bf and a cab so he won. A school boy error of mine I know, but he is a good inspser after all.
I think duels might develop into fights with no powers and no insps. Where we have to guess the layout of the other persons screen.
'Dam - you are right. My power tray is in the bottom right corner.'
'You sunk my battle ship!'
