Ignoring the enhancements since that's not my specialty, first thing that stands out is you should take either phase or leadership instead of medicine. And probably hibernate too, instead of PFF.
Also make sure you have all the +HP accolades.
Going from a regen scrapper to a dom is probably one of the hardest transitions to make. The former is arguably one of the easiest things in the game. The latter only becomes playable if you spend like 10 billion on it.
Others have claimed that it's the one AT that absolutely requires a huge investment, and I would agree. I've got an SO'd dom, and it's a complete joke. Meanwhile my SO'd corr does perfectly fine, as do my stalkers, tanks, scrappers, etc. -
haha bots.
Well, the big robot has that lazer that stops regin and causes like 30 secs of interrupt (so aid self can't be used). So you could, theoretically, bet regin. Even if they have aid self! Something to think about. -
Glad you like it! And you actually have a pretty rare build, which is always nice. Makes you stand out

Yeah, I'm aware of how much better IO's are. I see it basically every time I fight someone in PvP. I have to be a significantly better player to beat anybody with a really expensive build.
And I've seen many people claim that the market is so simple, anybody can make billions in days without even trying. And yet, nobody is willing to just give me like 5 or 10 billion. Why not? It must be chump change for you guys. -
Quote:Basically I'm lazy. It's not that I think I'm so good that I don't need IO's. I just literally haven't done more than like 1-2 hours of PvE in about 3 years. Meaning I don't make any money. The market isn't really my thing either...seems you need to start with a lot to make a lot. I spent all the money I had from all my toons to somewhat IO my blaster. He does have some sets, but zero purple or PvP sets.So what do you do with your drops....just give them away???? I mean....i don't understand how you like gimping yourself because you refuse to change over to the new system. (IO's). I would just give in and just get some IO's. I'm by no means trying to talk ****...just trying to understand why you won't use IOs.
The other thing is that I play a whole bunch of toons. When I think about IO'ing all of them, that just sounds like a ridiculously time consuming thing....so I just don't bother lol.
As far as drops, I think I've gotten like 3 total good ones. One I slotted, and 2 I sold, which is why I have like 500 million....probably the most I ever had lol. -
Mage you're note famous enough to PM castle. Get sentry4 to do it, and you got yourself a a guaranteed fix.

If I may, I also know regin.
I have first bs/regin in pvp, ok? I am first to know it cant be bet.
And you most definitely don't need tough on a regin. Get tactics, or phase like myself and most others. It makes you unbettable. And that's a nice thing. You know...you run into pretty much anyone, and you know they can't bet you. I like the feeling sometimes. In real life people can bet me -
Well ok, you did call me "sun", and that was offensive.
-
Regen is actually not that survivable when it comes to just standing in 1 spot. A few strong hits in a row can put you in a lot of trouble. It's the moving around that lets regin become unbettable, since it gives you the few precious seconds to regin yur healthz.
Think of it as fighting an AV. You'd be dumb to skip parry/DA in that case, and it's actually the one power that allowed my BS/regin to fight AV's back when I used to PvE. Without it, I was getting 1-2 shotted. With it, I didn't get hit.
And fight club is like fighting an AV. Except the AV probably has more skills at CoH than a typical FC opponent :P -
Agreed. And yeah, I've always tried to be nice to people.
Honestly, even guys like barrier and conflict, who may come off as meanies on here have always been the epitome of niceness any time I ran into them in the game. It probably comes down to who you're dealing with.
In some cases, there really is no reason to be nice, and the people really do deserve every bit of insults they get. That galactor guy for example. ALL he did was talk mad trash, while getting completely owned. Nobody has any reason to be nice to a guy like that. Well, except in his mandatory anger management class. -
Good question. I doubt anybody knows, since with the current state of completely broken, unbalanced, and confusing things, the only way to truly know something is to test it. And nobody plays rads anymore, so I doubt anybody has.
I would probably use them separately for the most part. Kind of like aim+BU. Not many blasters ever use them together anymore. -
Haha, I love this. It's a severe insult, but at the same time a request not to insult people. Well played.

Only time blaze can be useful is if you're slowed to the point where flares+blast aren't recharged. And then you'll only get to use blaze once.
I really don't understand this argument. Why would you use blaze, when flares or blast is ALWAYS available for you, they both do at least as much damage (considering procs), and they both have twice the range? In what possible scenario is blaze useful? -
I heard somewhere it drops you to like 1 HP, so the very next attack kills you. So basically you just have to get ANY attack off before the other guy....or make sure there's a DoT on the other guy when the timer hits. That's basically a guaranteed win.
I've yet to see it myself since I haven't done arena in years, but the whole idea is such a joke, it makes perfect sense why these devs introduced it. And even more sense why it's not optional. -
You don't understand. Scare is like the main reason to play an /MM in PvP right now (that and drain psyche, which is bugged so it's way more powerful than intended). Scare definitely needs more than 2 slots. You don't need blaze at all, since you have 3 good ranged attacks (flares, blast, subdual). There's really no reason for blaze. I'd slot the apoc set in one of your main attacks. I know it sounds weird, but blaze is actually your worst attack in PvP with a fire/MM build lol.

Quote:Agreed 100%. While it would be nice to get good changes, there is simply no logical reason to expect them. To change the game for the better, the devs would have to have at least a slight understanding of it. They proved they do not, many times now. Yeah, we can be all cordial and nice to them, but in the end, they will still be pure PvE'ers with zero grasp of the PvP game.basically, what i'm saying is this: there is a higher chance of devs deciding that fire blast is op and going after it with the nerf-bat, after seeing silit or cyclon3 kill 4 baddos in an arena match (yeah, almost as ridiculous as powerset normalization, huh?), than of them deciding to fix any of the other things we, as a community, think of as being significant.
And no, you're not going to be able to "explain" it to them. To truly understand it, you have to do one of two things.
1.) Play the game extensively.
2.) Flat out put your complete trust in a member of the community (like mac) and just basically say "ok, tell us exactly what to do to improve the game, and we will do it."
We already know #1 is false. It's plainly obvious that the devs don't PvP and never have.
And I can guarantee with 100% certainty that #2 won't happen. They would have to admit they're a failure of a development team and that a simple player has better game design ability than them. While completely true, there is zero chance of that happening, for obvious reasons. -
In an actual duel, no scrapper should be able to kill another scrapper, unless the one dying is really bad. In a "no moving no insp tru warier" type duel, it doesn't matter. Just spend more money on your build than your opponent, and you win automatically.

Wait so when I play my scrapper and spam webs at everybody I see, I am actively griefing all the mind trollers in RV? Sweet!

Well seriously then.....
Has anybody considered trying pentad matches again? I remember they were pretty popular back in the day for a little while, and they were basically a totally different game than regular 8v8. Took different strategy and different skillz. I remember we (JAL) actually beat Lions Den top 5 players in a practice pentad, and this was at a time when they were rolling us like 20 to 5 in regular 8v8's.
I always enjoyed them. And they might be even more interesting now, with all AT's essentially designed around dealing damage. -
Quote:Remember that regin nerf like 4 years ago, where they nerfed regin based on the fact that scrappers "could 1 shot +10 level bosses".The devs have shown time after time that they are both ignorant of the dynamics of their own game and incapable of making precise changes to the game. I'm not counting on them much at this point.
For those that weren't around, it turned out that the devs were doing all their testing on a completely broken server, where the game wasn't anything even closely resembling reality, hence scrappers actually being able to 1 shot +10 bosses. That is what they used for testing, and that was the basis for the changes they were making to the game.
The funny part is it took the players telling the devs that's not how the game works. They really didn't know that scrappers weren't supposed to 1 shot +10 bosses. After all the testing they did on that broken server, not one of them said "hmmm...this seems kind of strange than I'm doing 5000 times more damage than I expected." No, really. Not making this up. That actually happened.
That's roughly when I said that this has to be the worst game design team ever. Boy, was that an understatement. They really outdid themselves with I13.
