  1. How far can widows see stalkers from again?
  2. A few days ago some stalker made me crack up. I was just standing there with my tank...talking to someone. Then behind me I see a stalker become unhidden, doing the shark animation. From about 3 feet away. I turn around to look at him, but I don't even bother attacking or moving, because I'm busy talking to my friend. His shark hits me for like 100 damage. As soon as I look at him, he phases. We both just stand there, looking at each other for like 5 seconds. Then he runs away.

Kinda had to be there, but it looked hilarious from my POV.

    Here are the reasons.

    1. Mostly it is about money. I play over 10 toons regularly. Sure, to IO one won't take that much. But to IO 15 will.

    2. I play this game like 3-4 hours a WEEK. When I play, I prefer to actually PvP. Not to roleplay going shopping in a supermarket.

    3. I don't really care. All I do is PvP in zones, and SO's work fine in most cases. When I'm clearly outmatched by someone's build, I can just leave. This game is an utter joke from a competitive standpoint, so I really don't care if some baddo in a zone thinks he's better than me.

    4. In all honesty, I really hate this game, and 90% of the time it's not even fun to play anymore. So I don't want to waste my time pimping out a bunch of toons.....just to cancel my account a month later.

A while ago I did spend some time to IO my main toon, a blaster. Just cheap sets. But it's totally not my thing. I really can't stand that part of MMO's, and I thought the game was a lot better when everybody had the same SO's, and fights actually came down to pure skill.

Summary: No it's not to prove any point. It's because I'm lazy and don't give a **** about this joke of a dying game. I never once told anybody they should use SO's. But I do mention that I use them when I give advice, because advice given from SO experience can be very different from being purpled out.
  4. Invuln is only good with a very high investment. With SO's fire is way better.

Hmmm....I thought that was the whole idea behind 1v1 fights in CoH.

There really aren't very many people that even bother with sirens anymore. It's a graveyard compared to RV like 90% of the time. So the whole exemp thing doesn't apply as much as it used to. Staright up like 99% of the PvP these days happens either in RV or arena, both at level 50.

Also, it sounds from your posts that you think transfusion gives you end. It doesn't. And in PvP it's not even used for healing. And transference isn't used for getting end either. Both are used just to drain the opponent.
  7. The dark one with shadow meld is the only other one worth taking...just for SM. The attack in that set is a complete joke compared to sharks, and unless fully procced, isn't even worth having in the tray. But shadow will basically give you a few secs of retsu level defense with a pretty fast recharge. So it really helps your survivability.

It's a tradeoff. One of the strongest ranged attacks in the game (when used from hide) vs a really good defensive power. Just figure out what you need more, defense or offense.

Most people go with sharks, because stalkers are already really survivable when played well, but they definitely lack in the damage department, other than AS. Sharks really help there.

The fact that there are like 1000 mind/ doms on Freedom, compared to like 10 total grav/ doms and about 5 fire/ doms, that should give you a pretty clear answer.

It has like a 30 second base recharge. Hard to spam that.

Tanks can do really high burst damage. They can't keep it up all the time though.
  10. You should be fine. The only thing missing is SJ. I couldn't imagine playing without some sort of vertical movement. Otherwise you're limiting yourself to killing newbies that just stand there.

But if you only play in sirens, there's really no way to get everything you want. Level him up more for RV, get SJ, and sharks. And then you'll be good.
  11. Dude how the hell did you come up with that list?

MM's as #1? Is that a joke? Yeah sure, a pain MM is impossible to kill solo. But if you die to a solo pain MM, something is wrong with you too. If this was a pure "most survivable" list, then MM at #1 would make sense. But you yourself said that damage output was a factor.

Also, kheldians put out blaster level damage, with scrapper level survivability. How are they the 2nd worst? I don't know.

The real list is something like this...

    1. Blasters
    2. Doms
    3. Corrs
    4. Controllers
    5. Tanks/Scrappers/Stalkers (tie)
    6. everything else
  12. I'm one of the few stalkers that still uses AS. But it's no doubt that sometimes shark is just easier. Sometimes I activate BU and at about the 8 second mark if I realize that I'm not going to be able to AS the target, I'll just spam a shark instead, so at least I don't waste my BU. No doubt that AS does a lot more damage though.

Basically, AS gives a single stalker at least a slight chance of getting a solo kill. Solo stalkers that just spam sharks are simply laughable.
  13. I think Silit role plays that he has a short man complex.

    Blaster vs MM

Haha ok good luck. Pet AI is so broken in this game, anything can happen. I've had my pets randomly run away from me across the entire map...literally so far that they'd actually teleport back next to me....just to keep running away.

....all while simply standing in 1 place in BG mode with ZERO opponents or NPC's around.
  15. Dahjee what are your toon names? I'm wondering if I've ever seen you in the zones.

    Blaster vs MM

Oh sirens. Maybe that's why. Damage is scaled differently in sirens than at level 50, from what I've seen. For example, an impale crit from hide can take off like 60% someone's HP in sirens, while in RV it would only do like 40%. Those are just made up numbers btw.

But either way, I don't know how you're being hurt so much. When I attack a pain MM with my blaster, it takes a good 10-15 secs (meaning like 15 attacks) to put any dent in them.

    Blaster vs MM

What you describe is not possible in this game. Blaze doesn't hit for even remotely that hard. Also, there's no possible way that a blaster can take a pain MM to below half health in 2-3 shots.

Either you were out of BG mode, or you're making up the numbers.

Because you talk about things that can't happen in this game. People far more experienced than you are telling you this, but you just keep denying it. And when asked to simply show everybody what you're talking about, you say no.

You refuse to accept reality. That sounds like RP.

Btw trust me, I can do anything with TP that you can do. Yes, I know that if you keep spamming TP while being attacked, sometimes you get lucky with 1 miss from them, and you can TP away. That won't happen against a real PvP team.

Yeah, except the whole part where you can't TP while you're being attacked. But yeah, you can probably avoid that by asking your opponents to stop attacking you and ruining your RP.

All jokes aside, I was the one that made flying sniping blasters popular on Freedom after I13. I dominated with mine, and eventually more and more people got into it, until eventually like 60-70% of sirens was flying during I13.

So don't talk like you're the only one that's ever used fly or TP. I'm most likely the most oldschool PvP'er left in the game, and I've used it. Yes, it can work pretty well in zones. Mainly because in zones you fight on your own terms (can run to drones any time you want), and because most players are newbies.

But I can say with 100% certainty that there's no way in hell that it can do well in a serious arena match. It's way too slow to keep up with SS+SJ teammates, meaning that you'll essentially be soloing in the match, just like you basically do in the zones.

Maybe you could avoid dying in a big map like perez by simply avoiding the actual PvP and flying at the top of the map, occasionally sniping someone for 100 damage (and adding nothing to the team). But get a small map like the lab, and you'll be doing nothing but getting farmed. Don't believe me? Try it.

No need to wait. I'm sure there are already teams good enough to be able to play a man down.

  22. Ah damn. I gave that guy a lot of advice when he was learning. Hope he comes back.

    Also, thx mac.
  23. mac: can you please change your avatar? it makes my browser lag like hell for some reason?
