What ever happened to zero? I forgot.
He actually used to work like 5 mins from my house. I have a feeling he was sent to Iraq or something...but maybe I'm thinking of someone else. -
Wouldn't a rad/rad corr be ok? Broken LR plus lots of procs in attacks.
-
I'd go with either fire/fire brute or rad/rad corr. The rad/rad could be a good addition to a team if played well. Brutes are ok. Not great.
-
-
I just slot mine for range and use it solely for the -range.
-
Glad to help. Especially if you combine it with a high defense power like MoG or shadow meld, it makes it very easy to get away without even needing to phase.

Good point BB. Considering every single blaster is psy now, that probably does make a big difference.
-
NB is a total trash primary. A good stalker can still make it work (I think icesykle used to play one), because AS is AS. But there is zero reason to make one, if you're making a new stalker.
The -def will not accomplish anything when your whole playstyle has to be hit and run. -
Shadow meld has like 1/3 the recharge MoG does. It's available basically any time you need it, unlike MoG.

Is there really a need to start 2 threads about the same exact thing?

elec/WP
elec/nin would do fine too though. -
Quote:Welcome to competitive PvP. For all the talk you see on here about "getting new players into PvP" or "teaching people" or whatever.....it's all talk. The fact remains that PvP is srs bsns, and people play to win.But still as you said "Who is Colonel Coldheart, i don“t know this guy"
If they can pick someone that's a proven good player or someone they've never heard of, they will go with the former almost 100% of the time, unless picking the new person is absolutely mandatory (like in that league that's being set up). And you can't blame them, since that's really the only way to win, considering the opposing team is doing the same thing.
Look no further than the longest-standing PvP SG in the history of the game, JAL. It had a "everybody can play" attitude for years. Was pretty much the single PvP SG with that attitude. While other teams came out with perfect lineups, JAL was starting guys that had been playing the game for like 2 months. And it was the laughing stock of top tier teams for years because of it.
Then came new leadership, all the loyal members were basically cut, the entire team was replaced (except like 2 total people), and while it basically ruined the SG in the end, JAL did become the #1 PvP team in the game before it fell apart.
The win at all costs mentality is kind of lame, especially in a game like this, where the developers have done everything in their power to stop all competition......but hey....it is effective. -
I don't really bother with builds personally. But regen is also really good, maybe even the best, but it takes a ton of money to get it to that level.
If you have unlimited funds, go regen. If you don't, go WP. -
WP is considered the best overall because it has better survivability. Nin = pure luck, as all defense sets. Sometimes you'll get missed by getting lucky, sometimes you'll get hit with every single shot thrown at you. And there's nothing at all you can do to control it.
With WP, you always know exactly what to expect: easy HP cap, decent res, self heal.
Nin isn't bad, but WP is better. -
Quote:lol for SOME reason. I wonder if the game being utterly destroyed had anything to do with itFor some reason that ended right after the massive changes to PvP were made.
At least on freedom not ALL zones are completely dead, as they are on every single other server.
I used to be a regular in BB for a while. It was a nice change of pace at times. I do miss going there. -
Your best bet is probably to befriend one of the "cool kids" and have them bring you along with them.
-
I was sure it was 8, which is why I didn't get the "count to 5" comment either.
-
1. No benefit. But the zone wasn't "intended to serve" only low levels. There's a reason it's open for everybody.
2. Of course PvP is better when you have access to all your powers. But sometimes people may want a change of pace. And yes, of course PvP in BB is 10 times easier than in RV, and sometimes people want to play on easy mode.
3. Only advice is to practice. The absolute worst thing you can do is what your SG-mate did....say that you're never coming back simply because you got beat. If you can't handle seeing your toon die in a video game, then yeah, PvP is definitely not for you. Because unlike PvE, you're not an invincible god in PvP, no matter what you play. A lot of PvE'ers never grasp this concept.
4. Enhancements still work like normal, so yeah, there's a big advantage to being level 50 in a low zone.
All that said, you were very lucky to even find any PvP in BB. Literally 99% of the time it's completely empty, and this is on Freedom, which has about 99% of the PvP community these days. -
lol my namesake toon is a DM/SR scrapper with SO's. I think that answers that.
-
Quote:For primary, fire armor and invuln are both good, but invuln takes more money to really shine.ok well since everyone has pretty much bombed the thought of a claw regin how about a fire/invuln tank or scrapper
As far as secondary for tanks, you need either SS or EM. SS is by far the best, but EM is also pretty good. The other sets are bad though. -
Yes, just that. It makes it a whopping 4 seconds.
Personally, I don't know any EM that takes power boost. Myself, I use TF maybe 1 time per like 10 hours of playtime on the blaster. Like you thought, there's really not much reason for it, when you can do better damage from range. But in very rare situations, it can be useful. Like finishing off a runner, where you know you can only get off 1 attack. -
