It seems to me that maybe the -defense piece might work if you're dueling and it stacks over time, but I don't think it would make much of a difference with hit and run tactics.

The damage is all lethal the plus side being you can proc is out and has a pretty fast animation but if you want a blade get a broadsword!
NB is a total trash primary. A good stalker can still make it work (I think icesykle used to play one), because AS is AS. But there is zero reason to make one, if you're making a new stalker.
The -def will not accomplish anything when your whole playstyle has to be hit and run.

As a player that has a couple NB stalkers, I'm inclined to agree...
I'm not sure I'd say "trash" per se, but I definitely wouldn't say "great" either.
You can make it work, but it has the drawbacks of resisted damage type
and a complete lack of anything ranged. Due to the first drawback (you
won't do as much dmg as you like), you'd want/need ranged to finish the guy
off if/when he runs, but then you get bitten by the 2nd drawback - no range. 
Defensively, Divine Avalance does help in extended melee fights (vs
certain Scrappers, Tanks etc.), but you won't get that far in battles
where burst damage rules (ie. vs Blasters and the like), and it is
nowhere near as helpful in PvP as it is in PvE in any case.
If you're not already vested in an NB build, I wouldn't start one for PvP.
That said, I wouldn't shy away from playing it if you have levelled one though.

I have a nin regen...I never took it past 42 - fly by soaring dragon used to be fun before the change...drive by DA is fun too but not nearly as fun..as max said as is as...

Aahhh I see. So NB is out. okay ... Looks like I'll keep searching. I have a claws/regen, but I've heard claws is really weak so I'm not even bringing him in PvP zones. We'll see what I come up with then. Thanks for the advice guys.
I remember when claws was actually good on stalkers. Supastar had one called dynasty (i think that's what the name was) that was a beast. Then it got nerfed before i13 and pretty much ruined the set. I felt bad for the guy, first his EM/WP TekniQ got nerfed with the ET fix, then he rerolled a claw and it got nerfed shortly after.

Ok, so all my friends are having a ball in RV and they keep asking me to join them. I'm not too keen on PvP, but I'd like to team with my buddies more! So I rolled up a brand-spanking new Ninja blade/regen stalker. Before I take the time leveling him up, can anyone tell me if thats a good set for PvP?
