    The PB Changes

Viable or not, it wasn't popular because the vast majority didn't consider it viable.

Now? On paper. In theory. It looks viable. In game? ... casually testing. If it isn't viable in-game for myself then it is being deleted and I'll wait for another round of buffs to happen before I try it again. (If such buffs happen again. We'll see.)

I want to like PB. They are pretty. But pretty doesn't mean fun, and having fun with something is the only workable definition of viability in a video game. Its' been entertaining so far; part of that is expectations of its' improvement as I level it higher and invest more into it. If I hit 50 and an acceptable (to me) level of investment and it isn't fun to play at that point ...

    Poof goes the PB.
  2. Thanks for all the advice. I'll put some more thought into it and make something later this week.

It's does give a decent defense bonus so you're less like to get one-shotted if you do smash into a mob.

Oh, and it'll hold a LotG. That sold it for me.
For me, its either a skippable or a set mule. The graphics make my brain 'itch' (an interesting sensation, I promise), giving me headaches if I leave the power on (the longer its' on, the more it hurts). Not sure why ... only that it does it.

Recharge is always useful. If nothing else, it means the self-heals are up faster.

So I'm here to ask this, about how much global recharge is needed to make light form permanent? I'm assuming that, with prema-hasten it's somewhere around 150% just like a warshade's requirements, but i'm not sure of this exactly.
Light Form has a recharge of 5 minutes (aka: 300 seconds) and a duration of 1 minute, 30 seconds (aka: 90 seconds).

Assuming it is three-slotted for recharge with IO50s, you'd need 135% global recharge to achieve perma- Light Form without a gap. (234% recharge including enhancement values.)

Including Hasten's bonus of 70%, and that'd be 65% additional global recharge needed for perma- Light Form.

    (300 / (1 base + 0.99 enhancement recharge + 1.35 global recharge) = 89.82 seconds)
  6. I would like to suggest that a purchasable power be added to the cash shop, a power that enables tracking of mobs. The function exists already (when you are almost done with a mission, the remaining mobs show up as red triangles on the map). I imagine it would have to be a toggle so it would continuously update, though a click with a duration (like Reveal) may also be workable.

If it tracked the glowie as well, that'd be a plus.

    Ruling?
That (assuming they still desire access to the account or may desire access sometime in the future) doing either of those things should remove your ability to label yourself a 'man'. Given this, you're obviously going to do one or the other ...

    *shrugs*

Whatever gets your rocks off, little one.
  8. I'm trying to make a lowbie brute (that will stay lowbie; level-locking at either 20 or 22), who is intended to handle a limited number of targets. For single-target damage, which primary should I be looking at?

I've had fire-melee, dark-melee and energy-melee suggested in-game. I have no personal preference outside of a smooth single-target attack chain and the mostest damage.
  9. He appears to be as anatomically correct as a ken-doll. Maybe even less so than a ken-doll. (It was pointed out to me. I can't unsee the blank smoothness. Help me?)
  10. I'm okay with continuing to pay the endurance cost if that is the easier route to take.
  11. I've love for the toggles to stay up when using a different form. Charge me the endurance cost for maintaining the toggles (without giving the form any benefit from the toggles) if necessary. It'd be neat.

I can't see a downside to it. Thereby, it isn't going to happen.
  12. Relatively simple question to help with my most recent attempt at playing a Kheldian: Which power selections do y'all suggest skipping for a leveling (at least somewhat triple-form) Peacebringer? Any powers that I absolutely should not skip that aren't immediately obvious?

Bolded bit is the important bit. (yet) If my memory does not fail me the incarnate trials are supposed to increase in "challenge", with each new trial being more "challenging" than the previous ones. I recall something about the ever-escalating difficulty being part of the point.

I agree completely. I used the scare quotes for a reason. I've made posts in other threads indicating my (rather negative) opinion of "challenge".

The game changed. You can still play that way, but we have an end-game now and it is only going to become more important as time passes and more of it is released.

We should be thankful that they've added any end game at all.

That said, I'm not terribly fond of the Underground Incarnate Trial. The length, mechanics and players feeling the need to organize leagues by perceived perfect group composition is starting to smell a bit too much like WoW's end game.
    Its' not a perception.

People want "challenge". "Challenge" has its' requirements. One of the requirements of "Challenge" is that the sub-optimal are excluded from the content because the optimal can't afford to carry them and still succeed at the "challenge". The greater the "challenge", the more narrow the optimal range becomes and the more the suboptimal are excluded by necessity (assuming the league wishes to succeed).
  16. As per the title. I've a broadsword/shield-defense brute who doesn't have taunt yet, and would like to know if it swashes the sword against the shield when taunting (as the other weapon-sets do) or if it grunts (in which case I'm not taking taunt; have enough grunt'rs already)?

On my newest masterminds, I've been putting those enhancements into the minion henchmen power. Yes, all five of them.

For the rest of my new characters, I've put them into their attacks as soon as they have room for them. They're rather useful.
  18. Shiny Penny Syndrome, the devs' have it. Power Customization is so old, they'd rather work on something new and shiny.

Because. Because they missed it (despite it having been pointed out multiple times) or because they don't care or because they think we don't care (and possibly that we don't read).

    Obligatory response: lolLore
  20. We'll get the remaining power customization when they feel it is appropriate to charge for it; and we'll get charged per power pool (and potentially per character per power pool).

Or they can surprise me. (I don't expect to be surprised.)
  21. Used a firefox addon to adjust how my browser displays the colors. Goldenrod is now white for me.

    Cash Shop Bug

I had previously purchased all of the booster packs (and various goody packs). You know, when they were still sold on the NCsoft store. The cash shop doesn't recognize those items as being already purchased. It really, really, should.

If this is "working as intended", its' working in a very sleezy way. (Yes, I already /bug'd this in-game.)

People are buying paragon points now, and those points are showing. It seemed reasonable to inquire where the accumulated points went (with the answer being that the script handling that hasn't been run yet; now to see if the script has bugs in it).

Heh. Issue Launch Bugs are nothing new. Tried asking in the ustream chat but was spammed into oblivion, noticed that others had the same concern (from a different thread that wasn't about this) and so went ahead and asked in its' own thread.
