  1. Thiniking its the new incarnate slot power called; taking one for the team.

Btw did your team mates get the levelshift?
  2. Ninja skins:

Mine are named after them already (exept for Leonardo which apparently is a blacklisted name)

You only give up 3% of EndMod slotting and the proc then puts you over the top.
Thanks for that, had forgotten about the Enhancement boosters. Doing the same for the recharge in Shadow Meld as well, shaving of another 2 tenths of a second in the recharge

  4. One of my mains, Jacal Tios, a energy melee/ Regen Stalker, has been long overdue for a respec. I have been brewing on this build for a long time, (started the build in Mids several months ago) but am very unsure if Im missing something important.

The build is focused insane recharge. The reason for this is several but them main reason is that I can get soft capped with Shadow Meld in every defense with only a 3-9 seconds of downtime (depending on incarnate powers). And since Jacal is a regen, I hope to get away with the down time. The extra bonus is of course perma hasten and perma dull pain.

The attack chain would be Energy punch-> Bone Smasher -> Energy Punch -> AS, which leaves the animation heavy Energy Transfer and Total focus out of the loop.

My main consern is end usage. With the new stalkers changes I can really feel the end usage on this toon, even though he is not particulary toggle heavy. The insane recharge, I am afraid, will only make it worse

I think the build is viable, but I am afraid I have left something out.

Anyone have any comments? (Both a "that build will do" comments and "you have totally forgotten about.." comments are most welcome.)

Well there were only one cable with three connectors on it. The space between them weren't far enough to reach from my optical on the top to my two striped HDD on the bottom.

So searching for an extension cable I found two types, the SATA 150/300 cable and a SATA 600 cable. What are the difference of these? Can I use the 600 one? It is not as extremely long as the other one.
  7. Just want to bring an update and thanks to Hyperstrike and Father Xmas for helping me pick the right graphic card and PSU for my computer.

Got the parts yeasterday and the installation went very smoothly.

The sata power-cables weren't long enough to reach both my HDD's and my optical drive, so I need a extra cord to reach the DVD player. But that can wait, who uses the DVD player these days anyway

I also noticed that the CPU is in need of some thermal coolant, but that should not pose a problem as of yet.

I invested in the POV Geforce 450 card, because the Gigabyte card was clearly to big, and would come in conflict with the CPU's heatsink (thanks for the heads up Father Xmas.

The top temprature measured on the GPU yeasterday, was 49 degree celcius, so the cooling is totally fine.

Thanks again both Hyperstrike and Father Xmas for your amazing help.

I agree that setting a cap on salvage is a bad idea, what would be nice though, would be if there an average daily/weekly/monthly sell price history for items on the market. The last 5 sell price is solo misleading sometimes.

    Team Tios.
  10. Comine servers, no thanks. But it would be nice if the team up teleporter could be used cross server though. Would be easier to get a specific TF/SF that you want. Specially on redside.

Well true it covers the suppression issues, but it also removes 15% defense and 5% resistance on the henchmen, and I dont know if I think that is worth it. Ninjas are IMO pretty squishy as it is

Hmm, yeah I partially agree, problem is though that as soon as I use a debuffer or attack, stealth is partially suppressed, and thereby losing 2.82% in defense, that means I'd go lower than softcap, at least I think so. Mid's, after my knowledge, don't differ on that, so a little head-math is in order. Correct me if I'm wrong though.

  14. I'm fairly satisfied with my Ninja Poison build here, soft capping both S/L and Ranged and AOE.

I am bit curious if it could have been done different though. Its not an overly expensive build with no Purples or the +3 def PVP receipie.

The steadfast protection recipe is fairly to attain now with enhancement converters.

What I worry a bit about is that i place my pet def/resistance procs in the same henchmen power to get the range defense from Blood Mandate from the others. Is this a good/bad idea ? Is it the right henchmen to use for this?

Any suggestions or 'brillliant planning' comments are welcome

  15. Well both are in the same price range but what is the difference in:
    • 2 GB DDR3 RAM (GeForce GTS450)
    • 1 GB GDDR5 RAM (GIGABYTE GeForce GTS 450) and the other having

Well I have to check if the Silverstone would fit, and if it does, I think I will go for that one.

As for the GTS 450 only being 30-35% faster than my old 9800 GT, it is just fine, was happy with my 9800GT so anything better is fine as well.

Depending on the two cards, I would like the one that gives the most juice

    Thanks guys

This is a bit hardware technical for me, but does it mean the Silverstone 500W you referred to, has enough wattage? Just checked the wattage usage on the GTS 450 on tomshardware which states a maximum load of 219 Watt (though that is the 1Gb version, dont know if that matters). So changing the power supply and thereby adding 125 Watt more, would that be sufficient?

Okay, if I get this right, what you are saying is that this PSU would fit my computer, socket/connector wise, but not all PSU's does?

You are quite right I think. I have a fair bit of space between the CD-ROM and the PSU.

I'm so sorry for what might seem like trivial/non-intelligent/right out stupid questions, but I just want to make sure that I buy the right stuff from start, and get a bit enlightened on the way (if possible ).

I really appriciate your help so far Hyperstrike, and this kind of spirit and dedication to helping other COH gamers, is why I love this community and the game.

Maybe look at this one from Silverstone. A more reliable name.

The 450 should be a decent step up for you. It's going to run like a GTX 680 or anything but you should be able to do at least basic Ultra Mode at acceptable framerates.
Thanks for that. Two questions though, would the Silverstone PSU fit properly in my casing and is the 500 W enough for the 450 GS card?
  18. So unfortunately after a lot of problems with my grapic card, see this post, the card finally died the other day.

In looking for a new graphics card and most likely thereby also a new PSU, I'm in need of advice. My old graphic card was a Point of View Pov - GeForce 9800GT 1024MB and it worked fine on my system, except for not enough power and cooling. The cooling issue have been solved with an extra exhaust fan.

What I want for my new graphics card is that it can run Coh with ultra mode on around mid settings or better if possible. My budget for the card is max 200 dollars (the old one cost me around 60 so there should be room for some improvement), but there is so many to choose from that I have no idea which is better or not. What do I look for in a card? Do the Nvidia cards have to have GTX in model number to run Ultra mode etc?
Would a card such as this be sufficient. (The link is to a danish webshop, but the specs should be readable, price is about $140)

Now that said I understand that my current 375 wattage PSU is not able to produce enough power, so im looking for a new power supply as well. What should I look for here? Do I have to watch out for compatibility issues? Would this be sufficient? (Again the danish website, price approximately $40)

These two items are just examples of what I found interesting, and is by no means what I'm dead set on getting.

My rig is Dell Dimension 9200 , with dual core 2.1 ghz, 4 gb ram running windows vista 32 bits.

And the inside looks like this

I'm clearly at a loss here, and any help would be very much appreciated.
If any more info is need just let me know, and I'll try and supply it as best I can.

    Thanks in advance

So so so so true. Just checked the inside of the computer, and it seemed nice and clean at first, even the fans looked nice, then I checked the case, and between the ventilator opening of the inner and outer casing I found a very thick layer of insulator. After I cleaned it and turned it back on, I knew straight away that I had found the issue. The dust must have worked as an sound insulator as well, because the fan powered up like I almost thought it was the vacuum cleaner starting

Good point, that would be approx 6 months ago when I installed the graphics card.

I think you have misunderstood me Lothic. I only run Ultramode when I'm single boxing. I always turn of Ultra mode if have more than one client running on my computer (usually only two).

I've ran the Speedfan tool (Thanks Manny, for pointing me in the right direction, and making me post in the correct forum). Unfortunatly I could not get it to read the voltage but running without ultra mode enabled, the temprature was steady at 75* C, but as soon as I enable Ultra mode the temprature jumped to about 84* C and then steadily continued to rise until the screens blacked out at about 96* C (I guess there is a fail safe switch on the graphics card?)

So would it help to get a bigger PSU? (aka is that the issue?) And how much Watt should it take to make my graphics card comftorble?

I have not the strongest knowledge of hardware (software are more my thing), so what should I look for in a fitting PSU? (Compatiblity and all that)

    Thanks guys

  21. Hi folks

As of yesterday, my COH client seem to be unable to run in ultra mode. Running with ultra mode disabled the client seem to run fine (only tested for about an our) but every time I turn on ultra mode (no matter how low the settings it seems), after a couple of minutes, both monitors just goes black, and I have to reboot with the power button.

The graphics card is a Nvidia 9800GT I bought for approx. 6 months ago, and I have ran ultra mode a lot (except when multi boxing) and there has been no problems. I had, funny enough, downloaded but not installed the latest Nvidia driver 296.10, earlier on the day. I tried to install it but that did not help the issue.

I'm a bit worried that the graphics card is overheating due to lack of insufficient power supply (375 W), but wonder at the same time, why this would first show up now.

My rig is Dell Dimension 9200 , with dual core 2.1 ghz, 4 gb ram running windows vista.

I have run COH daily since I22, so that cant be the problem.

I don't want to lose my ability to play in Ultra mode so any help would be much appreciated.

If any more information is need please let me know, and how to get it.

I can confirm this as well. Ran a 4 sized multiboxing team yesterday and used all coolant charges (6*20) available and the health bar didnt budge on the core. I ran the mission 3 times and failed every atempt since the coolents weren't working.
