I got that sort of feel for it. But mostly its a mish mash of ideas. Our base is our airship and we do 'missions' to get salvage and parts for the ship. Its fun my main character in it is Markus Three Dog a wp/db tanker that is pretty much every action hero ever. He drinks and womanizes and says stuff that makes people facepalm a lot but deep down hes a good fellow.
  3. yeah anything dark or pale works nice. You can get away with just making the big bubbles dark and the small ones brighter if you want since they don't mess with vision as much.

but for the love of all that is fuzzy don't go white for that big bubble it just makes combat impossible to see and will just anger everyone on your team anytime you find yourself on any inside map with sewers can caves making them form angry mobs complete with pitchforks.
  4. My DS/Therm that is waiting for the rush to die off actually looks like the vet non-combat pet impish demon. Tiny little red dude.
  5. Ok ok I'll 'think out side the box' here on this thread.

Lets see I have 20+ toons on virtue so that would be my main server. Let see I started play on it back after beta becuase the RPers on the boards claimed it as the home of RP. Hmmm been playing on and off since then and whlie I've poked at other servers I always come back to Virtue becuase of its huge player base and most of that player base is RPers. Where else can a Level 4 get invited into a level 50 mission team just becuase of some random RP in Pocket D? Yeah I would say what I think about when I think about my server is Roleplayers lots and lots of rolepalyers.

Oh right that what paragon wiki says about it... damn not out side of box.

ok ok... i got it Costume contests yeah Totally no other server can you bump into so many CCs usually a few everyday and almost always with prizes in the millions of Inf (2,5,10 being the most common 3rd,2nd,1st prize)
  6. It all really depends on what you want to do. MMs can be built in a lot of ways. From tankerminds to straight up all pet attackless to anywhere in between. So set bonus really become what do you want more of out of your MM. Because a Attackless DS/Therm would set up differently then one that took all the attacks form DS. Personally I build my toons without sets in mind first and get my build tight then add sets as I need them or find them they are not part of my core build more like a nice extra.

Teams of all MMs of any sort are like that. Actually a good mix of MMs can be a force of nature as the pets eat everything and the MMs just kick back and drink ice tea and collect the xp.
  9. http://paragonwiki.com/wiki/Servers

That pretty much is on par.

Thought at some point Champ went from being the community server to being the drama server. But all in all its on the mark.
  10. I got one in storage.... I'll play her next month most likely.

But I am enjoying the upswing in red side teams even if its 6 DS 1 VEST and Random toon form me.

No I was referring to HEATs not VEATs in that last statement.

It is a shame redside does not have something like the sewers for quick low level runs.

I would agree with Kheldians being unloved. At last on Virture I would rarely run into one on teams or even in Pocket D.

But VEATs? Man I can't swing a dead catgirl around with out hitting one.

But I agree there has been an explosion of them since the change to 20. Heck I was on a sewers team the other night that had 6 of them on it.
  13. Base/vault storage for stuff I care about and vendored the rest. Don't think I deleted anything really.
  14. Ok i'll keep SS since it sounds like it can be used to get the group past unwanted mobs with assemble.

Can always respec it out if I find a stealth IO later. By then I'll have a better feel for the build and know if there is anything I would replace it with in the first place.
  15. Substrate

    Is it true...?

One of my toons is a tiny mouse girl so totally not a cat girl here.

But no RPer or not Virtue tends to be well populated. Finding groups is never overly hard (unless your on redside but that just how redside rolls). Finding regulars to hang out with no matter what your playstyle or lifestyle is is pretty easy. About the only thing suffering around here is PvP and yet there are even some of those if you look hard enough. All in all when suggesting servers to friend that want to try the game out Virtue is always my first suggestion.
  16. Sound good I can just move the endmod from circle to dwarf easy.

Question Super Speed is part of the original build I found in the ultimate guide. I really don't need it or will ever really use it with shadow step and nova fly. Also got a the vet TPs all the way to Asemble the team and the pocket D port.... And ninja run. High speed travel over a zone (the only time I would use SS) is pretty much covered.

But I really kind find anything worth plugging in there

  20. So reading The Journey of a New Warshade got me into the mood to give warshades a spin... But I'm not really the set bonus hunting sort of person. I prefer to build around common IOs to build a functional character and then add sets if and when I can. Problem is most builds I'm finding are built around set bonuses. I've read a few guides finding Plasma's Ultimate Guide to Kheldians the most useful but it is also 3 years out of date. I'm looking at the tri-from warshade build and like it over all. (Mids pasted below in case you don't want to hunt through his thread) Over all I like it. But I'm not a fan of super speed much and reading around I see a lot of mixed feelings on Unchain Essence as being so so. So with all the players that have been through the many updates in the years since the guide and build as created do you have any suggestions on how I can improve the build below?

  21. Oh I do use cheap sets when I stumble on them or find them cheap on the market. I just don't normally plan around them. I find if I build for decent common IO build (i have a crafter character to build them on the cheap and store up stuff like luck charms from my alt running) that runs fine on its own then I don't have to sweat to much about the lack of set bonuses. And if I do find an awesome set for cheap it usually does not take much to respec if needed to get the slots where there need to be for it. I have the Vet respecs so I always have a few to spare on any character.

I was poking at Plasma's Ultimate Guide to Kheldians so I will most likely go with his "The Gold Standard Tri-Form Warshade Build" its a 3 year old build but it's a start.
  22. Wow awesome thread makes me want to roll a warshade.

Anyone got a Common IO only build? I tend to avoid sets in that sort of it will happen if it happens sort of way. I don't plan my builds around having them. I do slot common level 25IOs asap and stick to that until I gain access to common level 45IOs.
  23. I'd just thought I'd pipe in as some of my toons are in a Airship pirates SG. The Tortuga its semi active check out the VV page and if you dig it look up any of the members in game. The only draw back right now is some of the more once active players have vanished into the land of Alts but we still have enough on regularly to run groups.

Pretty much what this guy says.

While it is troublesome to see Bob Destroyer of Worlds saving kidnapped children it does make getting a name change as easy as switching sides.

That said I would like to see at lest a one time option the first time we switch sides if possible.
  25. Hey I had some issues with Ultra Mode and Nivida myself. Me and my wife both have the same card (she just has a better over all system) the 7800 which is totally not UM worthy. Anyways I got my system to basiclly like it did before Ultra mode. But my wife with the same settings had all sorts of weirdness lockups shadows locking in place, so when you move the shadows stay in the same place on your screen while the world moves. And issues with whole zones becoming fog.... It was fixed when we noticed the Nivida control panel app on my it set to allow program to handle 3d settings and on her it was set to make Nivida control the 3d settings. Setting it to allow the program to handle it fixed all her issues.

Just something you might try out.

oh and a side to people trying to get back to pre-UM looks on older systems. The Key is set FSAA to x2 (or higher if you can) then set shadows in UM to stencil set both world and water reflections to low (none does weird stuff on my system but low works fine).
