Warshade build advice needed

So reading The Journey of a New Warshade got me into the mood to give warshades a spin... But I'm not really the set bonus hunting sort of person. I prefer to build around common IOs to build a functional character and then add sets if and when I can. Problem is most builds I'm finding are built around set bonuses. I've read a few guides finding Plasma's Ultimate Guide to Kheldians the most useful but it is also 3 years out of date. I'm looking at the tri-from warshade build and like it over all. (Mids pasted below in case you don't want to hunt through his thread) Over all I like it. But I'm not a fan of super speed much and reading around I see a lot of mixed feelings on Unchain Essence as being so so. So with all the players that have been through the many updates in the years since the guide and build as created do you have any suggestions on how I can improve the build below?

*Please preface every one of my sentences with "In my opinion..."*

I don't have mids in front of me now, but I can see room for improvement without it.

Especially since it's a set-less build, I would try to leverage the shapeshifting as much as humanly possible (pardon the pun). The less time you spend in human, the better.

That said, right off the bat I'd scrap the slots you have in shadow bolt, ebon eye, and gravimetric snare. They don't provide enough benefit to use those powers as is. That's four slots that can go into the form powers. I'd put one of those in Dark Nova Blast, make it a recharge reduction. Put two of the others into the nova AoEs, make them endurance reduction. Put the last one into gravatic emanation and make it a recharge reduction. That power is one worth dropping to human form to use, and should be perma and stackable for a few seconds now.

I don't think you'll use Quasar as often as your build plans to. Take at least two of those recharge reductions out and probably one of the damage enhancers even. I think the same of Unchain Essence, but less so. Play around with it, see how often you use it and decide whether you need so much recharge in it.

Gravity well is your heaviest hitting attack and should have some damage/recharge in it. If you grabbed some extra slots from Unchain Essence as well, I'd throw more end reduction into your dwarf attacks.

All the slots in there are pre level 6. I was not aware you could still repsec those slots into the nova form powers slot pre level 6 still.

It's a bug.

total kick to the gut

This is like having Ra's Al Ghul show up at your birthday party.

It is not a bug, nor is it an exploit.

It is an accepted, unintended side effect caused by an unforeseen interaction between the respec system and inherent powers granted when choosing the form powers.

But yes, you can't do that when leveling up. It has to be done during a respec.

No prob I got a bunch of vet respecs handy.

I'd take out 2 Damages from the Nova Bolt and throw them elsewhere. I've never slotted the bolt and don't really miss it ('cept for PvP). Though there's not really anything on your build that is glaringly in need of more slots, so do as you want.

You could also drop an Endmod from Stygian, one is plenty. (once again, at least it has always been enough for me)

Maybe replace a Dmg in the dwarf heal with an End, that thing sucks endurance.

Also you could throw either an Endmod or End into dwarf form, will help a bit if you are stuck wailing on some tough mob, or tanking for a team. Thinking about it, given the choice between Endurance in Nova form or in Dwar form, I'd put it in dwarf. Nova can be more of a 1-2 punch in a lot of situations, while dwarf is usually used for longer periods of time.

Sound good I can just move the endmod from circle to dwarf easy.

Question Super Speed is part of the original build I found in the ultimate guide. I really don't need it or will ever really use it with shadow step and nova fly. Also got a the vet TPs all the way to Asemble the team and the pocket D port.... And ninja run. High speed travel over a zone (the only time I would use SS) is pretty much covered.

But I really kind find anything worth plugging in there

I'd keep it. Combined with shadow cloak, it gives you perfect stealth.

This is excellent advice. If you get and use a stealth IO, you can drop it and still have perfect stealth. But without the IO SS + shadow is very handy. Especially since you mentioned you have assemble the team.

Thank you everyone at Paragon and on Virtue. When the lights go out in November, you'll find me on Razor Bunny.

Ok i'll keep SS since it sounds like it can be used to get the group past unwanted mobs with assemble.

Can always respec it out if I find a stealth IO later. By then I'll have a better feel for the build and know if there is anything I would replace it with in the first place.

Use of endurance reduction and endurance mod enhancers in the dwarf and squid toggles results in a very very small change in endurance consumption. Don't get me wrong it helps, but you will get alot more milage out of using slots on the powers within the forms than you would ever think of getting from the end/red or end/mod on the toggles.

Once I get my real computer back I should be able to tell you exactly how much per end red/end mod slot/second of toggle use it helps on endurance use but by then one of the real numbers people should already have the answer.

If you PL'd to 50 just to get an "epic" thinking you'd be ber, you're going to be sorely disappointed with the HEATs, because the VEATs were designed so that anyone with one good finger and a braincell can rock the toggles.
