  1. On my SS/Fire Brute I use this method to autocast Hasten, Rage, and Fiery Embrace. I imagine it works perfectly well with Illu/Rad as well. AM roots for a moment tho so not sure if it would be annoying to bind it to a movement key.

    Cute... lol :-P

  3. I lean towards Demon as well. FF has a lot of skippable powers meaning you can take Hell on Earth and personal attacks without sacrificing too much.
  4. Is this confirmed? The rooting was the entire reason I never took this power on kins.
  5. Masterminds especially don't have a blue equivalent. Closest would be Defender with weaker heals/buffs/debuffs but has 6 henchmen. I think its dumb to say a MM is more like a Tanker than a Brute is. A Brute has basically the same exact sets as a Tankers, they just swap primaries with secondaries. Brutes get granite, super strength, etc that scrapper do not. Masterminds, like many ATs simply *can* tank if built and played a certain way.
  6. I did Force of Nature in about three hours on my Brute. I had a friend's mayhem mission. There is still currently a handy bug in regard to Mayhems. If the OWNER of the mission (my friend in this case) never actively ENTERS the mayhem mission, he can repeatedly RESET the mayhem over and over at will.

I would jump in and spend about 15 minutes doing the bank, the arson, taking out cars, mailboxes, etc, and and cleared PPDs along the way. You can even clear the Hero, just don't also clear the adds he has with him. I would then exit and had my friend reset the mayhem. The timer was never an issue since I constantly got time bonuses from all the destruction. Rinsed and repeated for about 3 hours and I had the accolade.

BTW you only need to kill 25 Heroes now, and they can be Elite Bosses
  7. While Seeds is on cooldown, a Plantroller doesn't have a fast-recharging single target confuse available to spam in between. It's seeds or bust, when trying to confuse multiple enemies. Not saying I disagree with lowering the cooldown of Mass Confusion a bit, but the long cooldown isn't exactly that bad, especially in toons with very high recharge.

Sorry for the delayed response. I meant just general playing like solo, teams, tfs. Not PVP, not AVs (necessarily)
  9. At least on red side, there's many orange recipes that sell for more than some purples, which is why I prefer level 50 drops. Numina recipes for instance can be crafted and sold for 60-80mil, where a less desired purple like Coercive or Fortunata, sells for only 20-40mil, and take a lot more expensive materials to craft. You can sell the recipes as is but you typically make more to craft instead.

My Brute, who puts up numbers comparable or perhaps higher than a Fire/Kin controller and every other character I've seen, can achieve 40-45 defeats per minute.
Guess I'm doing something right. I tried Herostats and it says I got 44.83 kills per minute on my SS/Fire Brute. Screw bosses btw imo, just do +0/x8 no bosses
  11. Thanks for the build. I think there's a good reason I'm not seeing very many tanky builds out there for fiery aura. Maybe I'll retain the mindset of melee dps only, and not worry about trying to tank.
  12. Fiery Aura, likely by accident, has turned out to be a pretty solid offensive set with expensive IO sets in place. However from a tank/defensive perspective it really does blow hard. Getting defense capped is nigh impossible without completely neutering yourself in the process.
  13. Let's see. A few months ago I paid 3million to door sit in a group on one of my lowbies. When I came back from afk'ing and checked my recipes, I am very pleased to see I got a triple-stat Hecatomb which I crafted and sold for about 350mil

That's why I don't take people on my farms
  14. From what I understand, -hit is basically the same as +def in a sense. So here we are, I wanted a spec capable of being ghetto soft-capped with assistance from Darkest Night. I have 29.78 s/l def via bonus+CJ+Weave, and -15.3 To-Hit via Darkest Night. In theory this should mean I have a total defense of 45.08% defense vs foes affected with Darkest Night and assuming there are no defense debuffs in play etc. I have all IOs @ level 35 for exemplar purposes, and I'd like to think this build would hold its own pretty well. Let me know if I am missing anything significant or if you have any pointers. Thanks!

  15. Having a hard time finding a solid answer to this one

Fake Nemesis do a higher amount of knockback than most foes. My question is, how much knockback protection do I need vs one or two Fake Nemesis Lieutentants (not bosses, if it is different?) For all I know, I am overslotted for knockback protection, and if I can, I'd like to save a slot or two

I am hoping I can get by with -3, -4 or -7 Mag. Let me know if I need more. Thanks
  16. 300,000+ influence per minute is good at +0/x8 since this means you are also clearing mobs very quickly. This, or slightly better, is what I do on my SS/Fire brute. I also avoid bosses. Many people will tell you bosses are better, so that's your call there. I get an average of 1.4 purples per hour. Two nights ago, I got five purples in two hours. Last night I got zero purples in an hour and a half. It all averages out. Good luck
  17. Conclusion: Very fun and enjoyable no-budget build overall and definitely worth the investment if this is your main and/or if you have boatloads of inf to spare on it.

For me personally, I prefer /Rad over /Storm when dealing with no budget IO builds. While both get to enjoy perma Hasten and PA, only /Rad gets the benefit of a self heal, mez resistance, minimal endurance issues, stronger debuffs and overall team-friendliness. With /Storm I had to constantly run behind walls, cast Phase, conserve endurance more than I would like to, and also hold back on teams quite a bit to avoid getting people annoyed with me throwing foes around all over the place with Tornado and such. Overall I had to sacrifice too much considering the amount of money invested. IMO I can still have a ton of fun with my Stormie on a much lower budget, so I think I will be using my two respecs to transfer the expensive IOs to other characters.

    Thanks for the advice all.
  18. Edited for clarity: Fully IO'd out in your opinion which mm combo would scale the most and be the strongest/most effective?

Thanks in advance for your input!

If you watch my endurance bar you only see it drop low when I do a rapid resummon of my main pets.
No doubt an adjustment to playstyle is in order since perma CP is no option. More than anything I was pointing out that in an ideal scenario I'd be capable of maximum output with endurance being of little or no concern, like I currently enjoy with my Illu/Rad and my SS/Fire with equal IO budgets. I love this character though

Problem for me is: my high recharge always allows many endurance draining abilities to be cast at basically all times. IE: I can have at least 3 tornados out a once, 3 thunderstorms, 2 freezing rains, perma PA, plus flash and thunderclap are up very often. Then there's Deceive, Blind, Flash, and Phantasm if he dies. All the while I desire to be running Hurricane and Steamy Mist. This is extremely endurance intensive at *any* time. There really are no spike times I can prepare for. It's a perma-spike, lol.
  21. This explains why I lost a few mil worth of recipes shortly after I17 launched. Just glad I didn't email purples lol.

In short, don't depend on email to store your items. I do that in WoW and its never been a problem. CoX though I don't trust the system and use it to xfer items/inf as a last resort only.
  22. I have 29 recipes slots at 50. You get 20 slots just for being level 50. You get 9 more slots if you complete certain crafting badges. You get I think it's 5 more slots after a crazy amount of veteran reward time, so most people can't depend on that. I sure can't lol. No game holds my attention that long and I unsubscribe when I take breaks.
  23. I tried it this weekend: Perma PA with Conserve Power and Phase Shift. Perhaps I am going into this build with too high of an expectation to handle at least +0/x8 settings, since I can do +2/x8 settings on my perma PA Illu/Rad/Fire and also with my SS/Fire/Elec brute with ease. Both of them have self healing and mez protection or resistance, neither of which my stormie has.

Phase Shift: Only usable for 30 seconds. Pets still attack but appear to do 0 damage until Phase ends. Hard cap of I believe 90(?) seconds before I can Phase again. Not sure I will keep this power and its pre-reqs. The only nice thing about this over Hibernate is that I can still move around.

Conserve Power: Appears to be no where near perma despite my high recharge. The downtime is very painful without Stamina or the Health IOs. Tornado and Thunderstorm are up very often and cost a lot of end, and PA is mandatory to preserve safety so I have to make sure I have enough end to cast it as well.

The tentative solution to this is to take Hibernate like I initially planned. I can heal, recover endurance, and have an emergency button available. I understand Hibernate also now suffers from the same 90(?) seconds hard cap that Phase does sadly, but overall I still think I personally will enjoy it over Conserve Power, and drop the Concealment pool to get Stamina and the Health IOs again.

Intitial impressions only. I will also consider taking the Psi APP for mez protection since apparently all the pets aren't keeping the foes off me enough. I absolutely hate having no self heal though...

You could prolly do that build for ~4 - 6 billion.

I do see you squeezed out a bit more recharge than my build. But I see no Stamina and no Numina/Mircale recoveries so I'm not sure how endurance efficient you'd be. Does this build allow perma Conserve Power? I hadn't really considered that avenue. If CP is perma here I could see that working. I just really liked the idea of Ice APP for Hibernate and the idea of adding Ice Storm into the fray of pseudo pets.
  25. To preface I realize some of my slotting may be seen as odd or questionable, like in Spectral Wounds. I have no budget issues so want to get a very powerful, potent, and fun build. The idea of this build is to keep Army out at all times while enjoying the awesome chaos Illusion/Storm offers. Will do some single targeting but will overall focus more on pets and AOEs. I already imagine endurance will be an issue so I took Ice APP for Hibernate to help out with that. Any suggestions/tweaks/etc would be appreciated
