    Where did it say that? I've yet to see such a thing and would very much doubt it. I'm still very much expecting a closed beta on both test servers.

    I actually really like this idea. As long as it was weighted correctly, I think this would be a great development to mobs. This is also an excuse for a new powerset, or perhaps lots of additions to pre-existing ones. Illusion control, for example, could be a monster in this field.

    But it's changed since then, no? That would mean people are getting access to GR content without paying, and that just isn't how it works.

    Stuff in i17 isn't GR content. It may have been at one point, but everyone's getting i17 for free whereas people will have to pay for GR. The 60+ vets, Hero con attendees, loyalty programmers and GR pre-orderers were promised closed beta access to GR. Dual Pistols and Demon Summoning are part of GR, so they took people out of the GR testing pool to test them.

    While i17 contains content that was originally intended for release with GR, it isn't anymore. So while they could still use this pool of testers for i17, they don't really have to. They could use the beta inviting system they have for previous issues, where three-week customers have been included.

    Even though I didn't witness it myself, they are said to have gone down for maintenance at 1pm GMT. The... erm... thingy number matches the Test Server thingy number, so it's almost definitely dual pistols patched in.

    Pre-purchasing aside, even if I don't get into closed beta I'll probably try and convince myself that I just haven't been invited yet.
    I can totally see me not getting very much done this afternoon.

  12. My only DP character I wanna play is a Praetorian, so I'll be waiting until I can make the little guy in Praetoria. This means that prepurchasing Going Rogue will bring pretty much nothing to me and is pointless.

    ... but I'm excited anyway, and I know I'll get a buzz from prepurchasing it. Let me give you my money now. Please?
  13. First off, sorry if this is in the wrong place. I wandered around both Player Questions and Suggestions, but overall felt that as a discussion it would probably fit best here among its speculatory brethren.

    With Ultra Mode just around the corner, do you think that new loading screens are down the pipeline? They're just dandy for showing off Atlas and City Hall looking their best now, but soon enough they'll look better to some. Of course, this would be a small change with little impact. But if this game lasts, those loading screens are going to look less and less impressive to more and more people as time progresses. Hell, if Praetoria's loading screens are already in Ultra Mode they're going to look inferior as soon as GR hits.

    But not only do I want to hear opinions on if it's likely. I want to hear if you think we should get them. Should we preserve the old loading screens for nostalgic value? Should we keep them as not to rub "Hahaha you can't run ultra mode. Take a look at everything you can't see." in peoples' faces? Especially considering the sheer amount of people that won't be able to run it.

    Thoughts?

    Down the street BaB's sneaks off into the shadows... and makes a note to tell the next animator about the curse of the Golden Girl.
    She'd ride in on a beautiful stallion with a glorious static mane.

    some1 didn't say anything. We're getting possibly the worst task force in the game repolished to make it more bearable, and we're getting two story arcs on both sides of the game with a new enemy.

    Jeez, I swear 'content' is becoming a word that people just use for the sake of it now. Even in an issue where we're getting content people think that by announcing that we need more, they're going to get everyone to jump on their bandwagon.
  16. Aren't Imperious and Stheno also incarnates? I also think that Miss and Ms Liberty have powers from the well of furies without being incarnates themselves. From an artifact and Statesman's genes. I think there are one or two others that have powers from the well, but don't know if they're incarnates themselves.

    Same. A security level fifty hero goes rogue and is as dangerous as a newly broken-out punk on Mercy? No. I can totally see this being either a 'reputation' system which decides what contacts will talk to you, or a reduction in inf. Alternatively I think it could maybe be as someone else has said in the thread; that we'll be able to collect both inflence and infamy on one character.
  18. In my opinion, Incarnates are just too specific and special to be something we should have access to. Considering the idea is that you gain some powers of a greek god or demigod, I think that if you've got twenty people running about with the powers of Poseidon it isn't exactly going to be that amazing a feat anymore. Statesman and Recluse won't be so special anymore, and the whole balance of power goes wonky. I think that this game needs some form of superior power in this game that we just can't have.

    I'm more curious about if a hero becomes both a vigilante and a rogue on the way to villainy, or if vigilantes and rogues fall over the same area of the morality scale, but have different origins.

    The way they were described at HeroCon as "a villain trying to redeem themselves" and "a hero who thinks they are above the law" would imply that it goes:
    Villain -> Rogue -> Hero
    Villain <- Vigilante <- Hero
  20. I'd like to pipe in for a pair of Rikti EATs. A PPD AT could be okay but I feel that they don't really get enough powers to fill an AT. As the Rikti are a bit more interesting, and can't be remade with existing powersets, they'd make a good EAT, I think. This goes for Coralax too.

    Also, to say that the original suggestion for a new EAT sounds both too ripoffey, and rather dull. To me it sounds like a sturdy blaster that's unecessarily complicated. I'd leave the idea with the people who publish it, tbh.
  21. Just thought I'd pop in without reading everything to add my own "Hell no." into the mix.

    I don't want my characters' carefully-planned builds to be invalidated just so you can spend an extra three days playing your character before asking for another level cap increase to seventy.

    I'd prefer the Ouroboros version over the Midnighter one, but I'd be happy with either. The chances of me actually running the old Posi TF are tiny, but I would really like the option for nostalgia's sake.

    Also, a related request: I'd love for the Calvin Scott task force to be added in the same way. I never got to run it while it was live, so would like to have a look at what it was like.

  25. On the subject of emotes, am I reading too much into that they can tell us "you're getting animated tails", but can only tell us "We'll let you know more about the new emotes soon."? To me, this suggests there's something to these emotes that is out of the ordinary. Could these be some of these 'stance emotes' that the GR complete edition contains? Obviously not the same ones, but stance emotes nevertheless?
