Yeah, the build that I posted up there was kind of a work in progress; I just wanted to have something to show the recharge times of the powers and all, as a baseline for an attack chain comparison. That one should (can't recall off hand, and not on a comp with Mids right now) have perma-Hasten, so running the double SB chain all the time shouldn't be a problem, except in a few cases of large amounts of -rech (BCUs, I believe?). I'll post up an updated one, which does have the +3% SW in it.
Another thing I was considering was swapping the Cardiac Alpha out for Musculature. I haven't really crunched EPS numbers yet, but IIRC, I'm looking at a ~76 second downtime on Conserve Power; I want to say that'll be enough to tide me over, but again, more crunching is needed. I also like the +Res you get from the Cardiac, but I think a 30% boost to all my attacks is more valuable than the +Resist.
As a last bit of theorycrafting, I'm looking at possibly going Paralytic instead of Reactive. I don't think that adding the damage proc is going to let me take down any AVs I wouldn't be able to take down without it, but stacking Paralytic's -Dam with KM's seems like a pretty decent survivability boost (...and probably backing it up with Rebirth; being softcapped, imposing a -20% damage debuff, and regenerating 40 hp/s with peaks of ~75 hp/s sounds tasty). -
In addition to Claws's advice, I'd also like to point out that sets with large amounts of innate Regeneration (WP and Regen) derive more benefit from +HP bonuses than +Regen bonuses.
-
OK, good deal, thanks Nihilli. I think the double SB chain is a little prohibitive since it requires perma-Hasten.
-
Forgive the self-quote/bump, but I'm trying to get clarification on this; wouldn't this chain be better than BB>SB>QS>BB>CS?
-
-
A better question might be, "how is it you're not capped to all 3 positions?"
-
Quote:Ah, OK. That makes more sense. But then...wouldn't SB>BB>QS>SB>CS be the better attack chain? (with Hecatomb in SB for the double chance to proc)In Mids', go to Options -> Configuration, then check the Arcanatime box at the bottom of the Effects & Maths tab. That should help you out. Powers don't animate as fast as they say they do. Read up on Arcanatime on Paragon Wiki if you feel like understanding why.

I'm leveling up the mentioned combo, and while doing a bit of research here on the boards, I see the consensus is that BB>SB>QS>BB>CS is the optimal attack chain. However, I can't find a way to get CS to recharge in the required time (4.17s)...not even remotely close, actually (my Mids long-range goal build has it at 5.274s). Even with a T4 Spiritual, CS only gets down to the 4.9s range. Here's the data chunk (again, long-range goal build, and could probably be tweaked in places, but I'm just looking at the attack chain for the moment):

EDIT: Oh, PS...er, as in, Post Script as well as Power Siphon. Is there not a way in Mids to flip that power on? I've got it toggled up and have played with the stacks, but none of the damage numbers change. -

Free Graver art! Woohoo!
Scott felt bad that he missed a self-imposed deadline, so he whipped this up for me:

Hola; what is says up there. I made a mistake while typing in a new page name, so I'd like to delete the page. VV Forums are pretty quiet, so I thought I'd ask here.
-
That's pretty sweet; I especially like how each of them get to show off their powers (or fists, in Foxman's case).
-
Another new piece, this time by Reginaldo Vicente.
There are a few differences here from how the Judge "normally" looks, but I actually dig that; I (sometimes) like when artists don't stick to the traditional/usual design.

Quote:...which is five weeks fewer than the interval between your "last" post (12/6/2010), and your "thread rez" post (1/21/2011). It really ain't that long.I would have to do five tips and the morality mission to switch to Villain. Then I would have to switch back to Rogue which will take two days. Then I have to switch to Hero which will take two more days. Then back to Vigilante which will take two more days. That is like a week or so.

Still viable. From the survivability standpoint, it was a non-Granite Brute that Nihilli used to prove the point that Brutes could solo AVs.

Quote:Depends on the thingy. These days, AMerits would be my answer for most stuff, but definitely not for Purples, and probably not even for PvPs. I've come to regard each AMerit as essentially being equal to ~75M Inf, which provides a decent baseline from which to make comparisons.
Bottom line: If there's a thingy I want, what's the best way to get it?
Maybe we can put our heads together and come up with an answer to that deceptively simple question?
EDIT: for dumbness -
And you also need to find a set combo that will adequately support each of those sets, five times each.

Quote:That was my thought process too, until I realized that the other things I wanted to move on to were things I've done a hundred times over the past 5 years; soloing AVs is still novel for me.I know why people solo AVs, but... it never seems worth it to me. To much sitting and slowly whittling away at them. I know there is challenge there and some excitement, but I'd rather be moving on to other things sooner.
Congrats, though. I know it's a challenge for any AT, and even harder for a Tank than some, as they don't have too many debuffs or as much damage to work with.
Grats, Jetpack! -
One quick thing to add to what Claws said; surrounding yourself with trivial bad guys also helps you out. Of the 4 secondaries Claws suggested, /SR benefits the least from this, but there is still some small benefit in the form of additional Fury generation (though it's much less of a benefit than it was prior to the Fury changes).
With /SD, you get extra damage; with /WP, you get extra Regen; and with /Inv, you get extra Defense (though in many cases, this might be overkill, it could help out with Def deBuffing AVs). -
Ha, that does look a little like a Mrs. Nosferatu being all pissed back home.
There are some things in this pic which look...off, to anyone who has a passing familiarity with the Council and/or 5th Column. Like, "wait, isn't Nosferatu with the Council now?" (in the pic, he's rocking his 5th Column look, and those are actually 5th Column soldiers in the back), and "what the heck is that logo on his shoulder?" Those seeming discrepancies will be addressed once the piece is colored and lettered (it's meant to be a cover of sorts; and, of course, a callback to another famous shield-bearer's 1st ish). -

Been a little while since I posted something up...um, probably because it's been a little while since I had anything come in. Hehe. I got this tonight:
Judge Midnight, by Kevin Sharpe
It will be colored soonish, by David Delanty (and big thanks to everyone's favorite Comrade for making my choice of colorist that much easier!)

Quote:Do you use Mids? If so, slap up your build; over the past week, I've had my first bout of successfully soloing AVs, and it was on a DM/Shield Brute. The build hasn't even got Hasten or Midnight Grasp, and it was still capable; that's just how DM/SD is. Which AVs have you attempted? Which APP/PPP do you use?I've tried (and failed) to solo some real AVs with my DM/Shield Brute, but I couldn't manage to punch through their regen regularly without relying on outside stuff like Shivans and other temps. Shivan + Widow Pet + lots of Insps may not count as soloing, though.
EDIT: nvm about APP/PPP, I see the Widow Pet comment now...which raises some other questions. : p -
Quote:I don't see why not; there are already things in the game which cross over between "you can earn it in game" and "you can buy it at plaync.com". In fact, all those VetSpecs are the perfect example.I know others have suggested it, but I would like a vet reward to be a character server transfer. I know it will never happen, but that would be ideal for me.
I would love to see a Vet Reward along the lines of, Choose Any One of the Following: Respec, AE Slot(s), Server Transfer, Character Rename, etc. A ~$10 value for x many $15/months? Seems reasonable.
