Here is my Brute Guide.
Smash and Stuff - The Stone Melee/Willpower Brute (flabajaba2213)
[/ QUOTE ]
What is up with the links on this guide...? -
Comic books, 2d animation, 3d games. However, what impresses me the most in any genre, medium, format, etc., is storytelling. For instance, as much as I really want to enjoy the Ed Brubaker/Matt Fraction Uncanny X-Men stuff, and as pretty as Greg Land's art is, I always get the feeling that I'm looking at a bunch of statues. Statues with great hair, but still, statues.

That's the same spot where someone snapped a screenie of a trapped Warden...maybe you guys have a whole Hercules/Atlas thing going on. Except in this case, you trade off holding each other's delicious weenies instead of, y'know, Heaven.
Although some would say that's the same thing. -
That would certainly be a different, albeit interesting route. Thanks Soul.
(btw, ran your Origin arc; really good "read", well written and the...shoot, the boyfriend guy, forgot his name, was a well-crafted character ) -
Cryptcrawler was actually one of the first people I got ahold of, back when I initially wanted to scratch this particular itch; his "With my father's sword..." is what sealed it for me. Thanks for the reminder, I'll hit him up.

More moody and dark, something in line with the covers from the John Ostrander/Tom Mandrake run on "The Spectre".
linky
(Ostrander and Mandrake were on board for Volume 3) -
Hey folks...I've got a hankering to get some commissions of my "other main", Baron Midnight, and I thought I'd ask the community at large if they knew of anyone who was adept at horror-themed pieces. I've dug around on DA a bit, but many pairs of eyes are better than one!
I'm waiting patiently for my time to come in Graver's queue, so that's one down, but in the meantime, if anyone knows of any other folks whose talents lie in the macabre, I'd be grateful to hear about it.
Thanks in advance, folks! -
What the heck is that first mission map? I've never seen that before (but I don't play Villains much, so there's that...)

Looks cool. Kinda reminds me of Pitt with a little Savage Dragon thrown in.

I dig it, too, although to me it definitely evokes Sam Kieth. -
...yeah, I don't have any real ideas here, I was actually fishing for some. While checking names for an entirely different character concept (a Kat/Inv, sort of in the FFVII/FFVIII mold, if anyone's got any ideas
), I came across the name Razorbone. If that doesn't scream Spines scrapper, I'm not sure what does. Anyway, I was wondering if anyone knows of any tricks to make Spines/ characters look less silly.

Jumping on the "that sure looks/smells/walks like BS" train. Unless States's brother posts on that site under the name "Guinevere"...
-
I think I'm up to all of 7. All of my pieces are paid commission pieces, and I'm just a poor old student, so, yeah. Seven.

I prefer having one perfected character portrayed rather than a slew of creations myself. Blaster turned scrapper.

Agree. While I have a number of alts, and the ones I play are fully-realized characters in their own right, I try to focus on my namesake character when it comes to art. -
Well, an actual figure would be waaaay cooler, and is something I've been trying to put together for a while. But all of the sites I've found so far charge around $300-$500 for custom figures...so, uh, I'll just take an image of a figure and pay me some rent.

*gets in line for a mini-fig commission*
I freaking love that thing. One of my old roommates used to collect HeroClix; not to actually play the game itself, but just to have a cool collection of little superhero and supervillain statues. It'd be awesome to have a virtual one done up of my namesake CoH character. -
Yeah, that's the problem with the fx changes; they're categorical, not incremental. I'd hate to lose all of my auras (which blend together really nicely on this particular toon)...oh well, looks like I'll just have to invest heavily in Recharge bonuses.
-
I figured I'd post this here, since a lot of the folks who post in this forum have come up with some pretty slick tricks as far as costume design goes.
As much as I love Hasten, I tend to not take it on characters when I think the graphical effect doesn't make sense for the character. Right now, I'm leveling an Ice/Dark Corruptor, and I'd really like for him to have Hasten, but I can't justify the glowing yellow hands of...speed, apparently. Does anyone know of a way that you can "hide" the effect? I'm thinking that a very dark Fist Aura might work, but if anyone has other thoughts, I'm all ears. -
VERY nice; that's my favorite kind of comic art, using modern techniques to create a Golden Age look. Hope to see more from you!
-
"Heritage" does it for me; that's a strong collaboration pairing. I'll have to check out the story.

Great additions to your collection - congrats!

Thank you very much! The collection's a little anemic, but I like to think that the quality makes up for the lack of quantity. Hopefully I'll be able to add more top-notch work soon. -

*cough*, I think you might be forgetting a recent one...

Am I...? Hm. Oh...here's Storm Devil versus a wall of CoT , by this guy Juggertha , with whom you may or may not be familiar.
(that one had its own thread and was posted before I started this thread here, but you know what, you're totally right; so epic it deserves another go 'round!) -
Why thank you Juggs. And here's another! This one is from the fine folks over at Hero Portrait Studios. I give you...
Storm Devil vs. Baron Winter! -
I decided to go ahead and make myself a thread in which to post new pieces I get as they come in. Two new ones came my way recently:
Storm Devil (of course), by the very talented Gammaknight .
And Baron Winter , SD's archenemy, as brought to life by Brandon McKinney .
