Hiding the Hasten Effect

I figured I'd post this here, since a lot of the folks who post in this forum have come up with some pretty slick tricks as far as costume design goes.

As much as I love Hasten, I tend to not take it on characters when I think the graphical effect doesn't make sense for the character. Right now, I'm leveling an Ice/Dark Corruptor, and I'd really like for him to have Hasten, but I can't justify the glowing yellow hands of...speed, apparently. Does anyone know of a way that you can "hide" the effect? I'm thinking that a very dark Fist Aura might work, but if anyone has other thoughts, I'm all ears.

hasten is just the tip of the iceburg on this. I have characters that it just makes no sense whatsoever to have little purple shields floating around them when I click an inspiration.

I wouldn't want to open the whole power customization can of worms but I wish there was a way surpress these kinds of graphical effects.

You can. Just set /suppressclosefx 1 and then /suppressclosefxdist 99 and all power effects and auras on your character will be made invisible at all camera distances. Unfortunately you can't pick and choose what you want to be visible versus invisible, but it is still possible to shut off graphic effects.

Yeah, that's the problem with the fx changes; they're categorical, not incremental. I'd hate to lose all of my auras (which blend together really nicely on this particular toon)...oh well, looks like I'll just have to invest heavily in Recharge bonuses.
