Energy would be the obvious choice for a primary with an energy secondary. That reason alone is why I'm not taking it.
Concept-wise, SS would be the power of choice, but FM certainly sounds like it could be fun. Think I'll probably give them both a go and see which one I like best.
Thanks for input guys -
Thinking of rolling a */Energy brute, but am undecided on the primary. Am used to playing toons with a decent damage output, but preferably, not too high on end consumption (which I understand brutes do suffer from)
Suggestions? -
oo I didn't see the CET - 6pm might be a bit tight for me.. mind waiting 15 mins?

Just a quick thanks to everyone that took part in last nights GM hunt last night. 'Tis the most fun I've had on Villains for yonks!
I think we took down 5 Eochais, Jack, Deathsurge and Scrappy. -
Beautifully done mum - only immission I can see is that of PhyreNix in the name credits. You have him in the second "0" of 2006 (the red and yellow guy with the pointy shoulder pads), but not on the honours list! (I suspect this is largely due to names running into each other on the screeny heh)
Other than that minor quibble, it's an absolutely fantastic piece -

Could that be speaking from experience Steel?

Heheh funny you should mention that m8, yeah -
My secondary is Battle Axe, and at the time I was unaware of the 10 second buff to non fire based attacks. I've taken both Build Up (in axe) and FE, and I'm pretty pleased with the results thus far. I'm eagerly awaiting Fire Cage from the Pyre Mastery epics to use in conjuction with BU, FE and Burn.

My GOD that's good! Do you take on commissions
?

Would just like to add thanks to Blast and all that took part in this. Has to have been the smoothest and easiest respec I've ever done

Level 36 Fire / Axe Tank (possibly 37 by then) Viking Furnace is available if there's room

A sisterhood of Valkyries? My tank Viking Furnace will be keeping his eyes peeled for those! heh

To me an "empathic villain" is a contradiction in terms anyway?
I like the idea of insects and elemantals primaries mainly because they're fresh and not a rehash of existing characters. Of course with an elementals primary, that opens the door for cold / thermal / electric / plant control secondaries? Or would that pretty much be the last nail in the coffin for dominators? -
Reading the description of this buff power, it says "Boosts the damage of all your fire based attacks".
Is it still worth taking, therefore, if /fire melee isn't your secondary, seeing as your only fire based attack is Blazing Aura? -
Heh the time it takes us mere mortals to practise so that we're anywhere even CLOSE to the level of Gills work to be potential competition, he'd have happily retired and be sunning himself on a beach in the Carribean!
Superb stuff again tho' Gill! -
I really don't see the problem, or any boundaries or complex variables where mob tping is or isn't a violation of the EULA.
If you are in a PvP zone, and you tp someone into a mob or near a drone, that is not a vioaltion of the EULA. Granted, it might be seen as cowardly, not very sporting and a royal pain in the backend, but if you're overly concerned about those kinds of things, perhaps you should stick to PvE. From my understanding the only forms of griefing someone in a PvP zone, by definition, can never be combative.
If you are in PvE zone, and tp someone into a mob, then that IS surely griefing and thus petitionable.
Does it really need to be any more complicated than that? -
You read it differently to me. I read it that the mob tp comes as a result of the abuse, not to provoke it. The mob tp would more than likely "hasten the process" of being sworn at, but generally such abusers tend to end up resorting to bad language anyway.
-
This thread is why I don't do PvP.
Couple of things grabbed my attention straight away. Firstly bobthedemon said "When someone is abusive to me I wait until they swear then I petition them". He didn't say, "I provoke people so that they swear at me, then I petition them".
Secondly, how is TPing into a mob in a PvP zone classed as griefing? Using mobs to attack other players in a PvE zone is an entirely different matter. You go into a PvP zone, you will get attacked. It's really as simple as that. Or are we going to get into that ridiculous "honour" argument again? -
All about personal taste, and what you think is "cool" just like most things in the game really.
Personally, I think big robots are cool, and that mercs and ninjas are cliches (Ghost Recon / Generic Martial Arts movie anyone?) Someone else will think that the ability to raise and control the undead is cool and that Thugs are just cliched gangsta rapper chav wannabes.
Best advice has already been given.. try 'em all, see which ones you like playing and that you like the concept of. -
I do not have stamina.
I have bots / dark.
I have no end problems.
If I took stamina over assault and tactics, I'd have to loose a power elsewhere.
When i8 comes out with the inevitable free respec (yes, yes I know there's been no official notification of a free respec), I'll probably try it on test with stamina and without leadership and see how I go. At present, I'm not in any real rush to respec because I'm not experiencing any problems with my build -
I've said it before, and I'll say it again.. lvl 33 - bots / dark MM - i've taken leadership, and not stamina and don't have any end problems. Main reason is down to not taking any attacks myself (leave that to the pets. I'm a mastermind, why should I get my hands dirty?) and concentrate on spamming buffs and the odd toggle or two.
With longer fights stamina would make things easier perhaps, but I don't think stamina is by any means necessary. -
The only thing I'd say you need to look at is the legs. At the moment it looks as if he's standing with his legs a part, rather than a "crouching" stance with one leg in front of the other one like in your screen capture.
One thing I found quite helpful in getting this 3D effect is imagining the two leg parts (namely thigh and shin) as cylinders. Of course if you're drawing with a pencil, you have a cylinder shape that you can manipulate to get an idea of what it looks like in 3D space.
The really difficult part of course, is getting your brain to translate the 3D image you see in space, to a 2D one that you can put on paper. If you look at the thread you quoted, and scroll down to the link to my "Mad Evil Destructo Bot" picture, you'll see my attempt at this effect.
Saying that of course, there are infinitely better examples around heheh. -
for my MM CyberDeath, at one point I named my bots thus:
Drones: Huey, Luey, Duey
Prots: Mickey, Donald
Assault: Goofy -
Just one thought - had you ever considered publishing some of your art in desktop wallpaper friendly sizes? The "official" CoH wallpapers are a bit naff imo, and something like one of your pieces adorning my desktop would be MUCH more preferable
