I dont think there are any MM sets in the work for I8, but I could be proved wrong. I'd really like to see /cold as a Secondry for MMs but I doubt I ever will..
Primary wise Stateman has mentioned a Carnival/circus type set before, but who knows

Im pretty sure that empathy will never surface for villians ever... I think I recall some / all of the dev's pretty much saying as much.
And good too... One of the best things about CoV is it has eroded the "ZOMG w3 n33d 4 h34l0r!" philosophy.
New sets? Probably none at all for masterminds. Don't know who, if any, ATs will get them. Probably nobody, as there a lot of other major developments. To be honest, tanker primaries would be my first plea to the devs.
Anyways...
In the fullness of time, I'd guess the next mastermind set would be Circus [Carnie/Acrobats/Whatever]. The secondary is a bit trickier.
Pirate set is supposedly in the works, I'd say either that or carnival set will be next.
Not for I8 tho', but I9-11, since there were supposed to be a lot of new sets in the canned expansion.

COV is not getting much in I8 tbh
Yeah CoH is getting some much needed love to bring in line with CoV.
Forthcoming MM primaries include elementals and insects however (from statesman interview).

To me an "empathic villain" is a contradiction in terms anyway?
I like the idea of insects and elemantals primaries mainly because they're fresh and not a rehash of existing characters. Of course with an elementals primary, that opens the door for cold / thermal / electric / plant control secondaries? Or would that pretty much be the last nail in the coffin for dominators?

Cant see plant control being a secondry as its a control set rather than a buff/debuff one.

I think carnival would be quite unlikely since Posi stated in that wOOtradio interview that there would be no clowns and carnival would probably be too clownesque.
Unfortunately there is not much to learn from the pic files at the moment. The only buttons indicating a new powerset I have seen are those for a "gears" set with cloaking device, chameleon suit, night vision goggles etc. Looked more like a meleeist´s secondary than something for MMs.

Sure, otherwise I would have said that there will definitely no clowns. But with Posi´s words in mind and considering my gut feeling I just have to say that I find carnival somewhat unlikely, at least in the near future.
There will be other pet sets first and one of them is probably the pirates´ set.

With the up-coming issue nearing it's release date estimate, the thing playing on my mind more than any novelty wings or any other suchlike is what new powersets each class'll be getting.
In my own mind, the only thing I think I'm pretty sure of is that Blasters would probably get Light/Light - but that's totally irrelevant.
So, what do you guys think are LIKELY MM Primaries and Secondaries that are in the works.
My thinking is that there may be an empathy-feeling secondary set, but I can't for the life of me decide what may be likely for primaries.
So - what primarys and secondarys are you guys thinking could be likely?
