* The "Show Details" option you get when you choose your powers gives a rough idea about what the power is and what it does. (although I would like to see a small window showing the powers animation to give an idea about what it looks like for IC reasons. I seem to remember this was going to be available on the CoH website a couple of years ago, anyone know if anything came of it ?)

* A player that's made some dodgy decisions about a power choice is still going to be effective in PvE.

* Mids planner means that you can make as many respecs as you like to fine tune your build without actually using a respec.

* If you burn through all your earned, vet and issue respecs that quickly because you're not happy with the build, roll something else, cos you're never going to be happy with it.

* We don't know that this is an "easy" modification because none of us are devs at NC.

* With a bit of planning and care by the player, this "problem" can easily be worked around.

* There must be a reason why there's a limit from the point of view of potential exploitation.

What is sonics purpose?

You mean defeating your enemies just by yelling at them isn't enough?

This is the point. ATemote1 for a fire blaster would be different than it would for a storm defender. Not sure how a fire blaster could complain the stormies emote suited his concept better (saying that there are some people that will complain about anything)

And you think that the CoH player base is the largest source of potential CO players? I would disagree. Sure, if you've got a group that already play a superhero based MMO (and more to the point, currently the ONLY one), and you're releasing a superhero MMO, it's perfectly natural that they are going to be your target audience in the initial stages. What better place than the forums for that game to try and target those people?

Ok, let's say Tescos tried to put a bloke in Sainsburys handing out leaflets saying how much better it was, what would happen? He'd probably get a few leaflets out to people, maybe get a few converts, likely be ushered out by security after 20 minutes and a big news story about how unprofessional Tescos marketing campaign is. There'd be lots of people decrying their actions and saying they should be banned (as people tend to do in situations like this), and I'd imagine lots of people would say "ooh this is terrible I'm n ever going in Tescos again".. but ultimately, it'd all be a lot of hot air. If someone is stupid and bloody minded enough to inconvenience themselves and travel 10 miles out their way to go to a Sainsburys rather than go to the Tescos just up the road, just because of a bit of cheeky marketing then more fool them.

Same goes for people who are saying they'll boycott STO and CO because of this. If that's all it takes you to not play a game, you can't have been that fussed about playing it in the first place.

How I miss him

Says it all in the title really. One thing I really do like about GW is the fact that the different classes have their own set of emotes. I'd like this feature incorporated into CoH. Additionally, some power set related "taunt" style emotes would be nice. Say, a fire blast toon, with one hand on his / her hip the other fist raised and aflame, or a super strength toon doing a "threatening punch" (a little bit like the council Warwolves).

Have the commands as perhaps /e atemote1 through to atemote6 and /e tauntgesture1 to /e tauntgesture6.

Paragon City / Rogue Isles. What say thee?

It still makes me laugh what people consider "rude" these days. I think it's audacious, controversial, and just the sort of thing you want to raise your profile before your game is released.

"Rude" would have been going on to the forums and shouting "City of Heroes is a pile of [censored], why don't you play our game instead".

It's really no different to the supermarkets telling us that specific other supermarkets are more expensive than they are. To use the McDonalds analogy above, I'd say it was a bit cheeky to do something like that, but certainly not "rude and unprofessional".

Yeah.. I used to use my bots / dark on one account and thugs / traps on the other one, and that was a lot of fun - but both of those are very strong AoE characters in their own right - it's almost TOO easy heh

Hmm I like the sound of that. Had a fire / fire brute called "Temper Temper" (stroppy teenage girl concept), so may adapt this to a scrapper, and I've always been a fan of the sonic blast set (shouting at your foes to defeat them just seems to sit rather well with me for some reason ), but never tried the buffs version.

I did also toy with the idea of earth /* troller set up too - lots of AoE lockdown would be very nice for a big AoE toon like a fire scrapper, but I suppose a /fire toon isn't going to have too much trouble keeping groups close together. Earth / FF maybe - can't remember if Sonic buffs are a troller secondary or not off the top of my head.

I actually run two machines when I am dual boxing, and with a bit of concentration I can actually play both characters at the same time, which is only usually required for trickier foes like EBs. I don't think either machine would have any problem with running an extra account each, but I'm pretty sure my FD (wife) might object

Been having a great deal of fun dual boxing with my MA / Shield scrapper on the main account, and fire / kin stuck on follow with the heal on auto, and found it to be quite an effective combination.

Forgetting the fact that in higher levels the fire / kin will be able to take on those unyielding 2 man spawns on his own, have any of you any experience for really effective, fun dual box setups like this ?

I was thinking of MA / WP and Grav / Kin for the next one, mainly because they're both two combinations I've always fancied trying, but probably too similar to what I'm running at the moment to offer that much diversity.

Don't even try and teach these kinds of people anything, they will learn the hard way themselves over the course of time. All that will happen is you'll end up in an argument, and people tend to leave teams like that because no one likes that kind of atmosphere in an environment that's supposed to be fun.

Additionally, if you try and offer advice, there is the possibility that you will be the one that comes across as the arrogant know it all who won't listen. If you ever have a clash of personalities, just quit the team and move on. It is only a game after all.

First of all, welcome to the game!

If you don't want to wait till level 16 before you can fly, you could nip over to Kings Row and do 3 police scanner missions, followed by a Safeguard. The first of these will get you a raptor pack (jet pack) temporary power, which will tie you over until you get your fly power proper at 16 as suggested above.
