I cant think of a good name for this powerset, but basically its a Plant Buff/Debuff set, I think the Plant types could extend into this frame of powerset, so here goes:
1) Healing Herbs (Ally Heal, + res toxic, psi, Stop Disorient)
2) Nettles (AoE foe slow, - res toxic)
3) Toxins (foe -Res Toxic, Smashing. Hold/Vomit)
4) Spirit Tree* (Targeted Area ally + regeneration)
5) Awakening Medicine (Ally Resurrect, + Res Toxic, psi, energy)
6) Nightshade Patch (AoE -dam -Res all, Hold/Paralise)
7) poison Ivy (AoE -Def -speed)
8) Exploding Fungi (Targeted Area foe Knockback, Toxic DoT)
9) Blinding Spores (Cone, Foe -Preception -Accuracy Sleep Confuse)
*Spirit Tree in the Plant Control powerset would be replaced by another power as it is a buff
If you'd like to comment or offer up other powers, please do, And a good title for the powerset would be much apreciated -
I think i got some more...
Poison Ally (makes an ally choke and vomit then fall to the floor for 10 seconds, when they rise they are disoriented)
Stone (throw a stone at foe making them disorient or fall down)
Extract Soul of Ally (kill your teamate and use his soul as a pet like the necro ones)
Kamikaze (strap yourself with a detonator and run faster until you reach the enemy, then explode)
Bull Charge (Superspeed with repel) -
hmmm...lets see what I can pull out my novelty bag...
Cupids arrow (foe confuse then the winner comes and heals you)
Freeze ally (helds them but gives them a good defense)
Hara-Kiri (Damage yourself and placate)
0-G Bubble (traps all allies in a large bubble then makes them all fly)
Human Projectile (turns an ally or foe into the propel power and fires them at someone) -
I based the power layout to be like all three electricity powersets in the blaster archetype, Thorn Cage being like tesla Cage, no damage, but a hold.
But If thats a bit too powerful I guess i could make Sap into a new power like powersink, "Toxin Spray" (PBAoE foe - Res Toxic)
I'd replace barb swipe with another new power called "Poisonous Gas" (foe -Def all, - res Toxic, range, melee, Hold, vomit/choke)
I hope that this would even things out for the powersets -
We were concidering the "Thorn Manip" power with thorns raising out of the ground, if possible, it could be used in an Ancillary power pool set, that gives me an Idea...
THORN MASTERY
1) Thorn Cripple (Lethal/Toxic Ranged, Disorient, slow)
2) Thorn Manip (Lethal/Toxic PBAoE, slow, knockdown)
3) Barb Swipe (Lethal/Toxic melee, -Def to toxic, psi ,lethal, smashing)
4) Thorny Armour (Toggle, +def Smashing, lethal, toxic, melee, Foe lethal/Toxic at melee range)
(Note: This might be possible if more ancillaries are created such as ones for Archery, Sonic and others proliferated) -
I think both sets are great, but i have a more Possible blend of both:
THORN BLAST
1) Thorny Darts
2) Thorny Pikes
3) Fling Thorns
4) Aim
5) Thorn Barrage
6) Thorn Spear
7) Thorn Burst
8) Sweeping Spears
9) Rain of Thorns
THORN MANIPULATION
1) Impale
2) Lunge
3) Quills
4) Puncture
5) Build Up
6) Thorntrops
7) Ripper
8) Sap
9) Thorn Cage
These seem more possible sets now, But I choose Impale because it originates from the thorns. and yes, it does seem a bit un-heroic, but so is burning someone alive with a flame thrower -
well then lets stick with lower costume delay and dont allow people to use the Gold Member powers in tutorials

Thankyou Kindly Commander_Beet, I see that the carron creepers is vines or roots, so if it was thorns Poking through the ground repetedly, it would make alot more sense and work very well, alot like hot feet.

Lower (or get rid of) some of the restrictions such as having to be level 10 to email, having a long costume change delay and not being able to use the Pocket D Gold Teleport with a new character until you play with him/her for 30 mins.
This would make things alot smoother in my book. -

Well, Plant manipulation is too much like Plant Control, I had Thorn Manipulation so it was like Psi, it wasnt Mind control, but Mental Minipulation.
If there are too many attacks then I'll make Thorn Cage no damage, just hold and replace Thorn Assault with Thorn Needle, No damage, but injects a poison that reduces endurance. -
Short and Simple, A new Origin, Religeous, basically for Monks, Priests, Angels, Demons and the like.
The Origin Temp power is something along the lines of "Epiphany" a blind and hold power with minor damage.
we would need a new set of enhancements and stores/Quatermasters but I'm gueesing they could just turn an old building new/place another arbiter with something in his hand like a book
Enhancements would focus on 4 types: Blessing, Curse, Selestrial and Gospel. Blessing being Heals and Buffs, Curses are Debuffs and damage, Selestrials would be Speed (both travel and recharge) and hight and gospel would be all the others.
There we go, Nothing much, but would benefit players on characters -

that cant be right. It has 4 melee powers: Ripper, Lunge, Barb swipe and thorn burst, the others are either ranged holds or AoE
If you think this is all melee, then you havnt seen the energy manipulation set. -
Blasters: Dark Blast/Dark manipulation
Controllers: none/Cold Domination
Defender: Termal Radiation/Fire Blast
Scrapper: Energy Melee/Energy Aura and Ninjitsu
Tanker: Super Reflexes/none
Brute: Claws and Broadsword/Regeneration
Corruptors: Archery/Trick arrow and Poison
Dominator: Illusions/Dark Assault
Mastermind: Agents*/Kinetics
Stalker: Broadsword/Invulnerability
The reasons why I put more than one down for some is that it happened to brutes last time and it would benefit for all

Its basically like rain of arrows, only you fire up a whole bunch of thorns that will land on the ground or enemy and shatter into splinters to cause extra damage

Not really, the thorns powersets focus on launching thorns at foes or around foes, it wouldnt work for any Plant powers -
It would be good if thorns got proliferated for blasters as a primary and secondary, may of the powers from both spines and thorns can be used to match all of the effects used in both powersets aswell as some new ones:

Yeah, but you can basically pick those up once thier used and recharge them, Things that get broke...Not quite as easy.

Thats the taunt emote, by juggle I mean when they put thier hand on thier hip then use the other arm to throw the bat up into the air and catch it again, we've all seen it

yes, but its hard to come by such things and keep them, then state you are a hero once you bash thier head in with them, sounds a bit like Hancock, and I can imagine it now

How come?its the only thing I could think of that suited the Brawling style of Urban Combat, its the exact same animation as assassins Claw or Shock, but he uses his fist.

Ive noticed that we cant use emotes with weapons anymore, so I say we bring out a short list of emotes just for weapons, each weapon will have the following but in different styles that fit the weapon
Weapon Taunt (Use your weapons taunt animation, if there isnt one, use Dual Blade taunt with it)
Weapon Aim (aim your gun/bow, or lift Melee weapon ready to attack)
Weapon At Ease (hold your weapon in both hands, boes draw and arrow like the Longbow/Wyvern in Nerva)
Weapon Look (hold your weapon and look around like tsoo do)
Weapon Juggle (same as Thugs/Cops do with thier Bats)
I hope this goes into the game because I am tired of seeing NPC's with weapon taunts and we dont, I'd like to see that change
(note: If you have not seen any of the above NPC animations, take a short trek in the likely area to find out)

I'd like to see this happen also, there sould be customiations like Bayonet arms and More robotic looking ones, aswell as a Tasorian and Vanguard versions. But we shouldnt go too far with this, it would remove the 'Crab Spider' look.
