BABs, I have never done this before but I'll do it today, I am on my knees now begging:
Please, somehow give us the Bringit emote animation as a customized option for all versions of taunt/challenge!!!! I beg of you!!!! -
Just realized that is Microsoft's UK site.
"We're sorry, this video cannot be played from your current location."
I guess I'll have to sooner or later setup some proxi stuff to be able to watch foreign stuff, but for now, youtube it is. -

In two months, Frosticus will be saying that I was so wrong about DR being a possibility in the end game, BABs had to post a correction to my misinformation.
In two years the devs will add a buff soft-cap mechanism and Frosticus will say "I told you so."

Why they starting with that.... why not start from the start? They skipped 12 full story lines!
I been attempting to catch up a bit with the old stuff on youtube. Last I watched was mid the Daleks's arc (funny to see them so inferior there, needing metal floors to move among other things.)
Anyways, tomorrow my packing starts, TV and computer desk are going away on their merry trip to Baltimore where I'll reunite with them in 2 weeks (sleeping in the floor until then should prove fun.) I don't think I'll be able to do any more catching up until I get there. -

Quote:We already have a Force Field buffing set that would force a theme into a Personal Force Field set that would just end up being too similar to Energy Aura. You are more likely to convinece BaBs of making a Force Fields Theme for Energy Aura Customization. You're correct, although I hadn't seen it at first, my layout was virtually identical to Energy Aura's. Again, as I said previously: they were correct as well. But it still comes down to this "Force Fields are energy fields that protect allies. Energy Aura are energy fields that protect the user." quoting a Starsman comment to me. A Force Field defensive set would still be energy fields that protect the user. There maybe mechanical differences, but at it's core it's still an energy aura.
Quote:When the powers guy, aka Castle, tells me they currently cannot do that within the game I tend to give him the benefit of the doubt. Mind you that was from a few months ago so thing certainly could have changed. As they say, the one constant thing in life is change.
That being said, I would like to see a force field "effect" whether it be from a new powerset or from a customization option for Shields and Energy Aura.
That being told, if this was possible I would actually just port Energy Aura to tankers and replace the stealth with a negative-repulsion power as a taunt aura that also granted the caster some survivability buff per affected foe. -
Quote:If some one is opinionated it's an artist, and I speak as one. Artists tend to question whether some other "art" should be considered an art at all simply because they either are so self centered that they think their art is the only true art, or because they feel that as an artist they have the ultimate say on what art forms they can approve as true art forms.Well look, I know several artists. Some of them have worked on TV shows and some of them have worked on videogames. And several of them certainly question the idea of whether or not games are a form of art. You know, because most of them, as artists, like to question the world around them and not take things at their face value. So I'm not about to be making any assumptions here!
I stand in interesting grounds because I'm both, an artist (as a hobby) and a computer programmer (for a living.) My mother was a fashion designer and my father a car mechanic. I guess I had two very opposite viewpoints of the world handed down to me. I sometimes argue the topic with myself but ultimately both my opinons always end up agreeing.
I consider video games to be art forms, but I'll grant you that just as with commercial movies/books/anyartformyoucanthinkoff there is a lot of stuff that can't be considered an art form at all. I find it similar to movies in that they tend to mix many art forms into a composed art form, but unlike movies I find there are additional layers that can exist in games that don't exist in movies (like code writing.)
Oh and you asked earlier, there is a British Academy Video Games Awards that has been running since 2003, and I know there are others just don't have much time to look for them right now. -
Quote:The current version of Aquaman has:The problem with Aquaman is that unless you are talking about the Justice League Unlimited version (who could control water telekinetically) he's pretty much useless on the 99.9% of superhero jobs that occur on dry land and do not involve fish. He's actually pretty cool in comics based on just him, since he's actually underwater in Atlantis where his powers work. But add him to a normal (land-based) team and he becomes the guy who mans the communications relay and joins in on the once in a blue moon underwater mission.
- Undersea adaptation,
- telepathy,
- healing factor,
- enhanced senses,
- Super strength,
- durability and stamina,
- Extra resistance to heat/energy based attacks,
- Left hand is made of water and possesses mystical properties
The only thing I am not sure is how strong is he supposed to be (sans the mystical hand.) -
Quote:That was actually Martian Manhunter but he still got wooped by Aquaman. Something to do with that hand having some hell of a lot of magic power.Awwww, Aquaman's got "Little Man" Syndrome. He thinks he's one of the big dogs, it's so cute! There there, Fishpants, I'm sure your cephalopod psychiatrist wants to hear aaaall about it...
P.S. It looks like he's trying to make Supes smell his blue finger... -

Differnece is when I say you cant go back i just mean it would very likely not be viable. Even if it was technically so, take it away after it's been done and the uproar would be devastating.
Quote:The 'damage' done by a merger ?
The markets go through massive changes caused by Deve events and new issues regularly. A merger would lead to a rapid establishment of a new equlibrium (2-4 weeks IMHO) and go forward from there. There is no damage there. A change yes. Damage ? No.
The concept is not too different from adding a new sales tax to a state and removing income tax. In theory, you are netting even and it would take just one tax cycle to adjust, but in truth anyone that saved money before the sales tax finds that his saving may be now worth less as sales tax apply to him where income tax did not.
How on earth is this related? Because the income of established villains will loose a lot of value. The chances are process will go up drastically for villains and down minimally for heroes.
The impact of dev events and new issues market alterations treat everyone equally. This would be extremely more advantageous for one group of people at the expense of others, at least for a while.
Quote:The result would be a villain is not disadvantaged by a slow poor market.
I actually am in favor of a merger, but mostly because I can play the game without any issues if I can't buy stuff for my villains for a month or more, due to my extremely "i don't really care about that so much" atitude a bout buying IOs. I mostly care to sell so for me it would be ideal to actually merge no matter what side I'm on. I just also know that many villains want their IOs and cool set bonuses now. Tell them they have to pay hero prices for everything and see how they take it. -
Quote:Standard Code Rant. We don't know if the devs actually set up two databases, one for each side.I dispute that once merged they system couldn't be put back.
It may be difficult or tedious, but it certainly would be possible. (each bid/sale/item is associtaed with a charater, that character is associated with a side.)
But even assuming it was just a virtual lock, you can't just take it away because the damage that would occur once you merge cant be undone easily. At that point you may as well let it stabilize slowly. -
There are reason to merge and there are reasons not to merge. Problem is once you merge you can't go back so the devs have to really see the issues not to merge to not be crippling reasons.
One thing that will happen for sure uppon merging is that most heroes will monopolize purchase of high demand items. Heroes have more money than villains therefore they will pay more and easily hoard all the rares and epics.
The question is whether this would be a short term thing or long term. If things balanced in a month then cool, but if it takes more than that then it's very risky, but it wont be until heroes exhaust villain inventory, throwing their influence villain's way, that villains will start finding their pockets at a competitive level to heroes. Even then this holds more true for new characters. What is now considered a rich villain will find itself being just highly above average or just average, placing him at a huge disadvantage to their hero counterparts.
If players are allowed to switch sides without loosing their inf and items, then eventually villain side may vitalize it's economy without gutting the entire population's supply, at that point it may be more feasible to merge the markets with little or short term consequences. -
Last night I saw the first episode of the show: An Unearthly Child. Its a drastic departure from what I'm used to now, specially with the constantly tired doctor. I'm here hoping he may stop gaping for his breath every other scene in future episodes as I think I'll keep watching it. You see, there is something about old black and white TV and movies (specially if Alfred Hitchcock is involved) that even the worse of the worse I find appealing, so although I'm not seeing it in direct correlation to the current Who, it still is an enjoyable experience for me.
This thought crossed my head today though... the first doctor died in 75, that didn't stop them from making The Five Doctors with a new actor in 83 to celebrate the 20th anniversary... would it not be amazing if they went back and made a 50 year anniversary movie titled The Eleven Doctors? I got to admit I would like to see recasting even of most of the doctors, as the ones that are still alive are a bit aged.
OH and has anyone confirmed which of these two will be the doctor's official permanent look? And for the love of all that is Who, please say no bow tie!!!

Well, finished with S4!
Looking at my checklist all that is left is:
- Music of the Spheres
- The Next Doctor (but I know there is still more of Tennant so am clueless on this title)
- Planet of the Dead
Got to say I saw a few stupid things this season, why would they need Donna to go back in time and convince herself to turn left if anyone could had caused a traffic jam to do the exact same thing?
Overal I liked the whole seasson but the ending didn't feel as epic as the S3 ending. Now, ironically I still consider it better than S4 ending. I felt the whole superaged doctor monkey or the super powered psych doctor where cheap highlights on that ending, while the only cheap shot i saw at S4's ending was the overdone fammily reunion deal.
The reality bomb still did not feel as shocking as the end of time, for me anyways. -
Just saw Episode 6 of S4... does Jennie (or is it Geeny) count as a time lord? She did not exactly regenerate but she came back...
-
This may sound crazy but I would like to see a Doctor regenerating into a woman, but not for a full season. I would like to see that perhaps in a movie where he regenerates into a woman and is forced to regenerate again by the end of the movie. Also, no hottie, I would like to see an average woman past her 40s doing the Doctor. Heck, lets go radical: Whoopi Goldberg as the doctor!
-
-
That explains a few sites I found petitioning her NOT to be the next companion (didn't really read into them.)
Also noticed that that woman has a great potential for looking UGLY. She is OK for her age in the show (now know she is 41, does that make her the oldest companion yet?) but man, there are some photos of her looking horrendously ugly, I presume on purpose, though. -
Quote:I think it was great. For a minute I thought it was going to suck since I had not liked any previous doctor light episodes but this one was very well done. Heck, the entire thing could had become a full movie on it's own right.Starman, curious what you thought of Blink, since it was another Doctor light episode like Love and Monsters.
Love and Monsters was just bad, in my opinion.
