Quote:Adding onto the previousI didn't see these two titles, so I figured I'd add them. Great reading so far.
Boom! Studios
Incorruptible vol 1 +1
Irredeemable vol 1 +1
Irredeemable vol 2 +1
Incorruptible vol 2-5 +1
Irredeemable vol 3-5 +1
In my personal opinion, Incorruptible is the better of the two, but they're both damned good.
Also, as an aside, the end of Irredeemable Vol 5 is pretty much in sync with Incorruptible Vol 4 as far as events go. -
First, there were only chest and legs.
Then came the gloves and boots.
Now, it's finally time for the Shiny Tights to be available for masks.
Please. -
Everyone's a villain in Praetoria.
Personally, I think the 'chaser' looks kinda cool. I wouldn't buy it because I have a travel power, but hey, if you've got the cash, knock yourself out. -
Another thing to consider is that npc's generally have better perception than pc's. Hence the reason Lady Jane runs all over the map in Montague's arc: she's chasing the invisible ghosts you didn't kill.

I had some further thoughts relating to both 1 and 2 from my first post.
I'm thinking that at least one powerset we use ought to belong to the NPC as shown in game. Ideally we would use both powersets to approximate those groups as best we can, but in finding a way to explain why the character left their 'comfort zone' and joined our ragtag group of evildoers there would be room for some variation. Going back to the Sky Raider idea, maybe he developed new tech he didn't want to share so he was Elec/Traps.
Don't want to stifle creativity, but if we did go with this plan, part of the idea would be to make the characters recognizable as what they were. -
Okay, so I said I'd write something up for the idea I proposed at the end of yesterday's session. Here it is.
As we inch inexorably closer to 50, I've been wondering what to do next. While that it is still some way away, I figured I'd throw this out there, and maybe you'd all do the same.
My idea: a Legion of Doom style villain team made up of NPC villains. This does a number of things for us, both good and bad.
1)It limits characters conceptually. Saying you're a Sky Raider engineer and rolling an Elec/Elec dom? No dice. AR/Traps or Bots/Traps? More likely. A lot of these NPC's have actual powerset combos that we can make, so the job is less coming up with the powers, than it is finding the NPC that fits the powers you want to play this go 'round. Some fudging may be acceptable.
2)It requires us to come up with a decent reason why you're on this 'team'. A Bone Daddy tired of being disrespected by heroes, and frustrated with the Skulls suckitude. A Circle mage tired of 10,000 years of doing pointless ***** work for demons. The list goes on.
3)It takes us away, for the most part, from the Mutant origin. Sure, Johnny the outcast is a mutant, but being a mutant wouldn't be one of our main focal points. Not saying that the mutant thing doesn't work, it does, but that it may have been a point of contention for new folks with concepts that didn't fit. I think Gold Corp has covered the mutant story well.
4)New people would be a must. You guys are awesome, but it's rough just the 3 of us, especially since we ended up with both a tank and a brute when the dust settled. We make it work, but new blood is a good thing.
5)Red side! We can do red side content, which I haven't played into the ground yet. We can be evil, or mercenary, or rogue, as long as we're keeping up the group dynamic. No, you can't kill everyone and take over, because that's not fun.
Well, that's more, and less, of what I planned to write for my idea. Curious what you guys think. Keep in mind we likely have months to go before we really have to consider this sort of thing; which assumes we're all still up for another go 'round after this one.
So, what do you think? -
I have an Energy/Energy Brute (rerolled from an Inv/EM tanker) and I enjoy EM on brute. The ET self damage is a non-factor. It also hits like a truck. Other than that the Stalker will be easier on endurance since /DA loses the damage aura and CoD for Hide and an auto power.
I would personally go brute for anything with a damage aura, since that damage piles up quickly and EM doesn't have much in way of AoE. -
Please, EVERY decent controller knows that you must use your AoE immobilize powers on the spawn first from within melee range. It's just what you do as a controller. Style points for targeting an AV and beating the tanker in!

Yes please. It's a good year to go to the movies.

If glowies are close together, you can click one, then the other and complete both/all at once.

Might have been the best episode of the season. Hoping they make her a recurring character, but I don't think we're that lucky.

Quote:When I was in junior high, my sensei demonstrated something similar, knocking the biggest guy in the black belt group flat on the floor. Thankfully the guy was wearing a lot of padding.I just direct said diehards to youtube, search under Bruce Lee and look for any and all footage of him training or demonstrating things like his one inch punch that sent Bob Baker into the chair and then onto the ground. Baker stated he had chest pain for a week and asked Bruce to not demonstrate that on a human again.

For what its worth, I enjoy Energy Melee on my Energy/Energy brute. ET's animation time is somewhat tempered by the fact that it pretty much kills what it hits. On a team, the long animations can be a pain. Other than the length of the animations leaving you unable to click your regen powers, there's nothing really wrong with the combo, and that drawback is something you can workaround simply by gaining experience with the character and getting a feel for how it handles combat.
Whirling Hands is terrible, but it's also an aoe stun (good mitigation) and the only aoe you get. -
Quote:2009, but it's less funny because he wasn't actually home.heehee, also when did the Dolph Lundgren thing happen, that's hilarious too.

1. Make things.
2. Sell things.
Seriously though, telling players what they're planning to do far in advance would be about the worst mistake they could ever, possibly make. Terrible, terrible, terrible idea and I hope they never do. -
Sure most psychics are female. They're also mostly evil.

It's always the right thread for Robot Chicken.
