still the best multiplayer superhero game available.
[/ QUOTE ]
Best? erm, the only
The others not out yet!
[/ QUOTE ]
Given that the article also talks about the game's "steep learning curve" (compared to what, exactly? Solitaire!?!) and mission design capabilities (nope, I14 still on test) I'd guess it was written in a bit of a hurry. By someone that's heard about the game second hand.
Still, a good review's a good review, and it can only help bring people in. -

No, but you may get a "borked the game lore" badge
[/ QUOTE ]
Maybe not - if this turns out to be true, there may be a new history plaque in Independence Port by the ship the STF starts from, marking the spot where Statesman mysteriously fell into the blades of the Longbow helicopter
[/ QUOTE ]
Wonders what damage falling into helicopter blades would do to an Immortal Invunerability Tank Incarnate.... Hmmm, not much then.

I14 beta seems to have brought back some detoggling on zoning - how tough is States without his toggles up?
[/ QUOTE ]
Not very; you can see him wandering into a spawn without his mezz protection up and getting perma-held here. -
You don't actually burn more endurance, but end red enhancements are subject to Enhancement Diversification - a general system which reduces the benefit of trying to slot any attribute to a high level.
Mids indicates you're entering the "maximum penalty" area of ED by colouring numbers red; that doesn't indicate that anything's wrong, just that you won't gain much if you try to slotting an attribute any further. -

very easy.
[/ QUOTE ]Why do people keep assuming this about EVERYTHING?

Because doing so is very easy. -

ParagonWiki (and personal experience) says 3. -
Not impatience - why it behaves like it does is a mystery, and even if it's intentional there's not the slightest clue to let you know it'll magically come right in a while.
Anyway, ta for the update and happy building! -
I'll go /signed for this
When you're stringing together a series of bids for components to make specific recipes it can be a pain to have to keep re-searching to go back to earlier salvage for things you need to up the bid on.
[ QUOTE ]
And its that hard to simply use the auction search because?
Its not hard at all, so long as you click on the right section before or while searching.
[/ QUOTE ]
I'd not [u]hard[u] at all, just time-consuming and a little irritating.
If one dev does a bit of work here it'll save tens of thousands of players significant hassle - sounds worth it to me. -
Just wondering - did the base inexplicably spring to life after a while?
-
Different rules for you. Understood.

We shouldnt concern ourselves with development issues like
"How hard will it be to do" - Developers are there to worry about that.
"What impact will it have" - Developers are there to worry about that.
"is there anything else we can do instead" - Developers are there to worry about that.
Just ask yourself if you would like this feature at some point in time.
I would, and im prepared to let development decide on its priority.
[/ QUOTE ]
Then play it that way, and avoid comments like your earlier:
[ QUOTE ]
Well, I think we all agree then, that there is no GOOD reason that they deny customizable pet costumes.
[/ QUOTE ]
If difficulty and practicality are there for the devs to worry about, rather than us point out potential problems, it gets a bit unbalanced if you're still free to announce some there's no good reason not to do some things. Devs decide the good... -

[ QUOTE ]
Or it could be that they didn't have anyone to do the work, couldn't afford to hire additional personel, and so they focused the minimal resources they had available on core gameplay
[/ QUOTE ]
Thats a valid point, and quite possibly correct. However, it is still inexcusable from an ethics point of view.
(My work makes us do these online courses about work place ethics and [censored]... its still in my head)
Cutting corners, to save a buck, might work well for the company, but it works out bad for the customer, and thats ethically bad.
To be totally honest: SHAME ON YOU NC SOFT.
I should save some of my companys ethics courses to pdf, and send them in to nc soft.
[/ QUOTE ]
If you regard ropey pedestrian behaviour in a game (and I wouldn't argue that it is ropey) as a major [u]ethical[u] flaw, to the extent that you'll shout "SHAME ON YOU" in public, I think there's something very unusual about your sense of ethics. And probably priorities. -
[ QUOTE ]
Other games such as Spiderman Web of Shadows - Has limited scenes of wheelchairs in use, its just ignorant to assume that having wheelchair use shown in gameplay is offensive to everyone.
[/ QUOTE ]
Nice straw man there - no one here's actually claimed that would be offensive to everyone.
[ QUOTE ]
There are valid story lines, and story telling reasons to have the ability to give your npc's maladies, and illnesses, and disabilities.
[/ QUOTE ]
You can give npcs maladies and illnesses just by giving them a funny skin colour, and having them mention it in dialogue.
If you want mobility disabilities, put them on a bench with a sit animation and have them say they needed help getting there.
[ QUOTE ]
Providing wheelchairs wouldnt be any more harder than providing female, male, and huge body types.
[/ QUOTE ]
I bow to your detailed knowledge of the inner workings of the CoX costume/model/animation system.
Actually, devs have specifically stated that they won't be doing "fat" body types any time soon because it would require major reworking of so many costumes. And that's just a "looks different" version of existing body types, rather than something like a wheelchair that would need big animation changes too. -
Hmmmm - this isn't a base you've just got back into after a long time with no use, is it? If you have 200k generators and mainframes it's clearly not the solo player startup I'd originally assumed...
There seems to be a tendency (bug? feature?) for bases that aren't used for a while to "turn off", and when someone goes back into them nothing works for 24-48 hours despite everything looking like it should.
If that is the problem, past history suggests it'll come right of its own accord after a day or so. -
It does sound like a power problem, although from the OP there should be plenty to keep a single work table going.
Cyber_Ninja, is your base nothing but the entrance room and an Oversight Centre with the Power/Control Unit and a work table in it? If you go into edit mode the room/item strip along the bottom will have two little bar displays on its top right, showing available and used power and control. If you hover the mouse over this to get the numbers for both, what do they show?
Re. boxes, yellow ones do indicate items linked to the (blue-boxed) selected item, but that only applies to relationships between main items and auxiliary items (e.g. teleports and teleport beacons, power generators and addons). Storage units and their power/control sources don't count as linked in this respect, so there won't be yellow boxes when you select either. -

I just checked, £5.99 for me. So it looks like.....Standoff is right?
[/ QUOTE ]
It's like winning the lottery; the odds are hugely against it, but it happens every now and again anyway, purely by chance. -
[ QUOTE ]
Have purchasable Respecs increased in price recently?, I swear the last one I bought (six months or so ago) was £5.99. Now when you go to the PlayNC store the pricing is devoid of either Sterling or Euro Specification and reads: '8.99'! - anyone?
Thanks in advance.
Mumsie.

Could be this popping up again:
[ QUOTE ]
Ghostraptor:
There is an occasional bug where a UK customer may be incorrectly shown the prices in the in-game store, and we have a current issue (being worked on as we speak) with the £ and sign not displaying within the in-game store. This may make it easy in rare cases for a customer to believe that the price has been changed, when in fact it has not.

I'm definitely not! -
You're underestimating what a tightwad I am - even if it's a toon with 10s of millions of inf, and the reserve price for an item was a measly 1k, I'm still reluctant to withdraw that item and irrevocably lose (gone, for good! gone!) the 50 inf fees.
So I'll grind my teeth and keep it on there, because I could make an entire 900 inf if it sells! (Never mind that there's currently 53 unsold recipes of the same type in the AH window, no bids, and the last 5 sales were for 10 inf each - I could still make 900 inf, dammit...) -
[ QUOTE ]
[ QUOTE ]
Capped or no, there is no need to hold that amount at any one time. I have just priced the amount i will need to complete the build I want, I'll end up buying as I save anyhow.
I am now however being more careful with my selling.. Any names recipe is now going into the AH, where as i would vendor anything that wasn't purple before.
I still Vendor all recipes that are not invention type, and all salvage that is not recognized at a value of 5000 get given to the store aswell.
[/ QUOTE ]
IO Set Recipes should always be sold in WW IMO, even if you're listing them for 5 inf. Helps your fellow shoppers out and means more supply for everyone.
[/ QUOTE ]
Tried that, and am running out of AH slots.
Even recipes I would have expected to get a good price for (high 30s Acc/Dam/Rchg, admittedly on a Snipe set, Heal/End, etc...) only seem to go for a few hundred and even then there are often 10+ unsold items and no bids. -
Limit, but she's still doing huge damage with those attacks she can use - there's little point in hanging around to receive it given that you can't hit back.
At least as an MM you can do the Benny Hill pet chase, with the pet damage starting to bite as soon as her MoG goes down. For a petless Corr or Dom, though, just trying an attack to see if she's vulnerable will root you for a few seconds and that can have very nasty side effects if it lets her catch up. -
I thought she did a slightly beefed up "old style" MoG? Big boost to defence and res, making her all but unhittable (including by psi - that's the beefed up part) for the duration.
A real hassle as a solo squishy, as she does 2 hits ---> hospital trip for you and she's effectively untouchable (and certainly unkillable) for as long as the power lasts. After trying all sorts of options, including debuffs and overdosing on yellows, the only sane tactic I found for dealing was to dash to the lifts and hide downstairs until she's hittable again. Effective, but a long way from an exciting battle.
