I havent been able to try this myself yet (not on the training server) but I expect that the repulsion field in the force mastery epics for blasters will stop an assasin strike and send them flyingI certainly intended to 3 slot it with acc and hopefully thats the last I will see of the stalkers.

wont do anything to EA stalkers, at least not until the 5% detoggle kicks in -

My gripe with fly is that its to slow for my liking and can be negated by a lot of powers...
There are a lot of -fly powers out there, aswell as fly is effected by slow powers to.
for example.A flyer (with ss) who is hit by snow storm has barely any escape, as your horizontal movement is extremely limited, and you no longer have that 360degree movement as you can no longer fly. Whereas with leaping you can still escape with SJ.
There are much less -jump powers in PvP aswell as leaping is a great back up power to have when slowed. As a squishy leaping pool also leads to acrobatics which imho i rate above the pool above flight.
Personally I find leaping pool is the best way to go for PvP.
But hey thats my 2 cents.
6 slotted hover was always great movement, but three slotted hover is just to slow unless you have power boost or AM or siphon speed.

nah snowstorm is fun, u get hit, u just placate them, admittedly it is against nature to hunt out the perpetrator as opposed to trying to run but it works well, ask Window Licker -
FLY
360degree escape movement
able to build defiance
Fly stalkers are not pleasant
everywhere is accessable
not prone to a "double hop" back to where u began like tp if too fast to activate.
people rarely watch the skys when looking for rogue assaults -

I don't know though, what is your secondary?

energy aura, immunity from TP -

Stryka and Mr not so nice eat /Dev /SR /DA for breakfast, we are on the speed cap and have invis friend so no one can see us untill a hit is made and by then we are miles away and target is dead (well SR has a good chance of living).
Tactic is this, no one can see us (literally, we dont go within 10 ft) we run at a pre determined target with our best strike preloaded and jump at last minute, we fly over caltrops and PBAOEs dont have time to hit us, due to our speed the animation root doesnt affect us untill we are WELL past the heros. Then its run, reapply invis and pick next target.
I admit I stole this from some friends on the US servers who were literally the best stalkers I have come acrossI know this is showing stalker kill tactics but I cannot think of a strategy to counter this tactic, I would be interested if anyone can come up with a decent one
[/ QUOTE ]
only u can't get the flyers tho bottyeven your 3 slotted cj + hurdle cant reach us
and considering u both have energy as primary
and with the mines stoof, trops + mines (maxed at 15) + tp foe when we see u and bOOMZ0RZ!
problem is tho, if alot of peeps (and lets face it there will be) keep doing what u do, people are just not gonna want to play in pvp as theres nothing we can do against it if on floor etc...just removes all the fun at all
[/ QUOTE ]
guess my secondary, I take one power from the set (aside from hide)We can smack those standing on caltrops and trip mines with impugnity
they will find tping me doesnt work

As it stands, TP'ing only seems to beget TP'ing. Its like a hand-grenade.
[/ QUOTE ]
indeed it does and I hate pulling out my alts with 6 slotted TP foe just to ruin the day of the Base TPers. I dont mind base camping, it means I dont have to go far to find a fight but base tping is weak and ruins the fun in the zone (well it ruins my fun and I know enough people who will aid me to ruin fun for others)

, and then if that wasnt enough, they were calling someone a n00b for droning them throughout the fighting? xP''
[/ QUOTE ]
that has another reason..it was about lyssa..who's ALWAYS drone TP'ing...ALWAYS...yeah saw her once in the field but thats it..
[/ QUOTE ]
TPing from base and Droning really honk me off, its so pointless, u tp from base, u dont allow opposition to regroup and actually fight you. I assume you want to fight in pvp? What the hell is the point otherwise? you dont get nothing from repeatedly teleporting people to your squad and all it does is piss people off.
Droning is also weak, it means your bounty is so far away againthat said if people on either side are tping from base then the drone awaits, I dispise this tactic but of you are base TPing and I am there you will get perma droned.
These tactics ruin the zones and I fail to see any fun in them, if I am in the zone when this is going on I will usually swap to the side who is being base TPd, send a few fast PMs and wipe the zone. However I do it in a bad mood and with vitriol as the fun is all gone. -
Fly + SS is awesome, Stalk uses it with great success

To stalkobot, Surely you would keep hide on, drop invis(possibly turn on stealth), AS then run?
[/ QUOTE ]
Yeah you would keep hide on, im tired and sat in DFW international airport so forgive my mix up but still I see no real benefits from this tactic, may get the odd kill but not much more. I am sure some people could make it effective(ish) but its not a dynamic or versatile system, as Xan says its hard enough to get an AS on a decent player without having to get in position and turn off Invis first, picoseconds count in pvp. 2 with invis friend works much better in pvp zones. -
toggling Invs and hide isnt a new strategy for me, rather one that was long ago discounted. It seems very ineffective as would require recharges slotted in hide and/or Invis to be of any use, couple that to losing your pbaoe def that hide gives you and its a receipe of disaster.
Far more effective is a superfast duo with invis friend (like I have) you gain with no negatives, sure you have to reapply after each hit but that really isnt a problem

Storm best secondary for solo PvP...? Nah.
Kin and Rad are far better.
[/ QUOTE ]
probably rad. Doesn't require a to hit check on most powers. Try hitting an Eluded SR scrapper with your kin powers. I don't think you'll be very lucky.
[/ QUOTE ]
Rad is awesome but in a team based PVP scenario or even the zones I dont think Rad is dynamic enough, you see green goo, you or the rest of your team find the rad and smack him silly and the effects are gone. -
8 man team with one rad can take them down easily enough, I got all six (hero) badges on the first night of EU i7 test. Its not hard to totally ignore the villains as there are not many jerks (on test) who disrupt the AV killing (at least not while I am there) actually worst was when we were killing heros and a certain french scrapper ignored the obvious ceasefire so we had to run around planting him every 5 seconds (seriously bad scrapper)
Zone co-operation isnt difficult but there will alway be the rogue element. -
Spyka has tactics and FA running at 50 for RV, it should be invaluable but be aware that FA is a very end hungry power even with 3 end reds in it.
-
Thats why i asked if it was a confirmed bug, I dont see it as overpowering, after all you have to set it off to suffer its effects. I see it as a very fair power in the traps set
-
I seem to remember reading on the US boards that they put a stop to Kronos spawning in the PVP zones, I could be wrong though, its just that i know people who have followed the guide and not spawned him in sirens
-
It doesnt matter if my EM/EA is seen as shes pure speed and doesnt rely on AS in the least, she also works in a duo and both have invis friend so even if people are in the perception cap they cant see us unless we are standing right next to them.
I didnt see it mentioned but it seems that on applying a PVE boost to stalkers it means stalker can AS through all debuffs that dont caus damage, that means hotfeet, mudpots, CE and the like can all be ASd through even if affecting you. Will this make it through to live is the real question. -
I think I7/RV is going to be a really nice balanced zone, with the domination pvp change i may actually reroll a dom and get past lvl 15 without deleting him.
My new stalker Stryka should be lots of fun in RV as she isnt remotely geared towards ASing people and being seen isnt really an issue, BlazeZen will be a silent assassin in the sky and Spyka is ....fun -
Spyka is pretty unique on the EU servers as is "fully optimised", I have been recommending to others to build a toon on the US servers and take advantage of the daily Hami raids, which, though are not nearly as professional as the EU ones due to the abundance of miscreants seemingly intent on screwing it up, are usually sucessful.
Of course this just makes dying all the more embarrassingShes certainly not unkillable but with quills, DP and IH running its a lot of fun taking on large numbers of villains (mostly stalkers) and winning. Just a pity I have no room for hasten pre-30.
As with anything there is always an antithesis and its playing against these that is the most fun. To be honest my initial concept was for a SR but couldnt fit in heal self and regen allows me to miss out the 2 last powers from the regen pool (revive and mog) which I dont feel are needed for my pvp game and pick up other powers, also i feel regen has better survivability in pvp. I just wish that spines/regn wasnt so FOTM as it makes me embarrassed to play her -

I also happen to think that sonic, trick archery, dark defenders should be good there its just there is so few about of some of those powersets. On the villain side add poison and thermal. All other sets are still good and very useful in different ways as it is a pvp zone after all. They are, in the -res department, just not as good or better than rad afaik of the top of my head. My money is on sonic as being king for -res. Dropping the AV resistance is the key i think.
[/ QUOTE ]
I am afraid I disagree on the resistance part, I have fought these AVs on the US and UK server and have beaten them all. I have also spent a LONG time not damaging them with 40+ heros pounding away the health barely drops by 2-5% before the regen fully heals them, even if you are able to lower the resistance to the point where heros/villains are causing double damage it still wont be enough (in my opinion) to overcome the incredible regen rate (you ahve to watch the health bar numbers to beleive it)
-regen is key as far as i can see -
make a /stone brute, can tank better than your Inv any day of the week, with a kinetic you can even kill them all remarkably quickly.
-
Ok after spending a great deal of time in Recluses Victory and fighting the AVs for many hours with up to 50+ heros all on the same AV, I have come to the conclusion that it is impossible to kill them without a Rads debuffs, at least it is that way for the signature villains.
One rad debuff and we can actually damage them and whittle down their health, 2 rads and its nice and easy. SO whether the changes made rads slightly worse isnt relevant anymore, in RV Rad is king and without them we are lostSO please all rads to RV on live day
