Since not everyone ventures down to the general section, I will post here before people start flooding with questions of "When will i18 Mids' be released?"
Check here for the latest announcement. -
-
This will be my last release as a member of Titan and the lead dev for Mids'. Due to personal reasons, I have decided to leave Titan Network. It has been a great honor to work on this project for the last year, and to provide such a valuable tool to the community. I love working on this project, and hate that I have to let it go. I just hope that whoever takes over the reigns can live up to the reputation that the community has come to expect from Mids' Hero/Villain Designer. I want to thank everyone for the kind words and support you have given me over the course of the year. It means a lot to me.
Now, enough about that. Now on to the part everyone is waiting for. As my going away present to the community, I decided to release this version a little early so everyone can get a jump on the big launch on Tuesday.
Thanks everyone for one hell of a ride. See you all in game!!!
Mids' Hero/Villain Designer v1.803
Mids Hero/Villain Designer 1.8 DB v18.01245 August 2010
Game Build
Power database in line with game build 1850.201007290124.4 (Issue 18)
Changes & Updates:
- Added Kinetic Melee to Brute, Scrapper, and Stalker Primary, as well as Tanker Secondary
- Added Electric Control to Controller and Dominator Primary
- Added new APP (Ancillary Power Pool) and PPP (Patron Power Pool) powers to all ATs
- All stealth powers that have a suppressable defense value now display correctly in the View Totals window. The powers now display "In Combat" values
- Fixed issue with Ninja Run replacing Kheldian's first inherent power. This fix causes Ninja Run to be unavailable Kheldians
- Removed the powers obtained by Dual Pistols > Swap Ammo from displaying in the inherent powers section. These powers will no longer display anywhere in Mids' (see "Known Issues for reasoning behind removing these powers"
- Fixed bug causing Mastermind Patron Powers to unlock incorrectly
- Mastermind > Mace Mastery > Power Boost is now a click power
- All power changes introduced with I18
Known Issues- Due to the way the following powers were designed, the powers obtained by Dual Pistols > Swap Ammo, do not apply any effects to Dual Pistol powers.
- While in "Level-Up" mode, users are unable to place slots. In order to place slots, switch to "Dynamic" mode, place slots, then switch back to "Level-Up" mode
- Diminishing Returns for PvP mode have not yet been added, all buffs currently show their full, unmodified values.
- The Power Graphs for the current build do not display effects for pseudo-pet powers like Ice Storm. This does not affect the Powerset Comparison, which is now fully aware of pseudo-pets.
- 60 Month Vet reward button not added. This means taking a Tier 3 travel pool power at level 6 or higher is automatic for everyone. You need to know whether or not you are eligible for this reward or you must take your travel power at level 14 or higher.

Be on the lookout for a very big announcement reguarding Mids'.
-
You will have it......... Soon
Remember, patience is a virtue. -
Also, by pressing the middle mouse button in game it gives you free control of the camera. That may have something to do with your problem, but that is just a guess.
-
I'm taking the 18th off so I can have a four day weekend, I'm already normally off Thursday, Friday, and Saturday.
-
Quote:You only need to "run as admin" if you have UAC turned on. UAC is the cause of the "admin" issue when installing Mids', so blame Microsoft.Dunno. But if I had to guess, I'd say it has to do with the fact that Mids' himself originally coded the program for Windows XP, and in order to bypass the problem, the Titan Mids' Crew would probably have to rebuild it from the ground up.
-
It will be after the maintence window on the 17th. So guess somewhere around noon-2pm EST, barring some major issue with the update.

Quote:So using Demon Summoning, and Dual Pistols BEFORE they officially release with GR isn't a head start? Well damn, guess I better get a refund for my 4 pre-purchases I got since I was obviously cheated and lied to.How about "Get a Head Start on Going Rogue before it Hits The Shelves!!"
Oh wait...... -
-
My main hero will go to the other side to get badges, then back to hero. Same with my main villain. Other than that, all current toons will probably go vig or rogue so I can run them on either side.

Quote:The problem with that statement is not everyone wants to test. All they want is to play with the new shines. Nothing more, nothing less. Those people seem to be the ones that are all in an uproar about not being in CB.It is to test, but it is also a chance for you to play with the new shinies before they are live, and so you know how it will affect you. That is the bonus you get for testing.
Its less than two weeks people, go out and do something. When the 17th hits, enjoy all the new stuff along with everyone else. -
If you all pre-purchased Going Rogue just to get beta access, maybe you should re-evaluate your priorities. Closed Beta is for TESTING and finding bugs, not playing with the new shinies. If that is all you want to do, then CB is definetly not for you.
If you really want to get down to it, the devs could let you in the last day of CB which means you were in fact given CB access. -
More than likely not. There wasn't an Open Beta for CoV, so there is no reason to assume there will be one for GR, especially with only two weeks until launch.
-
Or they could just not be lazy and do a search. I mean that is what the search function is for after all.

Quote:You do not need to uninstall the old version. The only time you need to do that is if you have made changes in your database, otherwise the new isntall will overwrite the old one. There was a bug a while ago with Mid not importing files correctly. Also, you cannot use the updater in Mids since it stills points to the old URL.
Go to the Titan network and download it from there. Completely uninstall the old Mids then install the new one you just downloaded.
Also, when you go to download the new version SAVE IT TO YOUR PC. Do not try to run it from the website. After you download it, right click the file and select "run as administrator." -
Quote:For the record, I wasn't referring to you, just people in general.Note: This is why I phrased my reply as I did, though I figured the inevitable response would follow, and frankly, I have a fairly amazing track record, I'm not arcanaville, whom I'm sure has been in CB since about day 5, but I worked my butt off in every CB I was in...except I passed on i10 because it was all Rikti storyline stuff, and didn't stay closed for more than 2 weeks, and not much was going on.
I'm not surprised to see this post however, it's pretty much required on the CoH forums, ironically, I'm normally the one making it. -
Just because there is a Closed Beta for GR does not mean there will be an Open Beta. CoV did not have an Open Beta. It went from closed straight to live. With less than a month until GR launch, I doubt they plan on having an Open Beta.
Everyone is freaking out about getting into to CB, and that is only because they want to see the new stuff, not actually test. If all you want to do is see the new shinies, then you can wait till launch. CB is for TESTING and BREAKING the stuff, not looking at it so you can say you seen it before it went live.
The way I see it, unless youre a player with a great track record for tracking down bugs and stuff, you don't need to be in CB. If you just want to play with the new shinies, why play with all the new stuff and spoil the "new" factor before the content even goes live? -
My corr only has 1 more day job to get too. I forget how long till I get that one, but I can't wait. Im tired of the damn day jobs. lol
-
St0n3y just got his last day job and day job accolade yesterday, which put him to 767 badges.
Time to start working the damage badges, and got one already today lol -
Quote:I do try to keep an eye on the threads I start since MOST people do post there if they have issues. The problems I have are when multiple new topics are created all over the place with questions that have already been answered or already discussed in the original threads, and new questions end up appearing in the new threads. It may be easier, but I'm with Impish Kat: Not a member of TN, and have no plans of ever joining. I tend to post my tech issues with Mids' into the thread(s) St0n3y makes here when he releases a new version, and hope that he at least sees my post.
I don't mean to sound like an a**, but I have better things to do then fish through every section and multiple topics to find problems. -
Quote:That is exactly it Stalemate. The problem with posting Mids' issues on these forums is people create new topics for their issue and in different sections. It is easier for me to go to the Mids' section on the Titan Forums and look there at the posts when everything i need is right in that one location.I think St0n3y is suggesting that it is much easier for him, as the "go to guy" for Mid's, to field usability question on his home turf, than it is here in the CoH forums.
Mid's is still a third party tool, AFAIK, and in not a Paragon Studios / NC Soft product, so it makes sense to ask questions at the source to get answers from the people actually working on it.
