They're adorable! I'd love to see one of Woot! Plenty of references at the comic.

Lone, the type of character you're referring to is a Guardian/Knight, Jessie has a listing of the ones that are available. (Right now most of them.) They're each coordinate with a planet and some personality traits attributed to said planet. I used this as a guide for picking Saturn for mine:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Planets_in_astrology -
Did a little reading up on things; and I'd like to take Knight of Saturn. From what I read, it governs realism, practically, and sense of duty. My idea is for a very serious girl with a strong sense of duty and responsibility. Sort of the "straight man" as it were, though I imagine sooner or later neither of those words will apply. -_-

Quote:There are definitely guardian characters that are female, this has been explored a whole bunch of times in anime and such. So I wouldn't really have any problem with it.
Sounds good! I saw that your idea was for each planet to guard over a specific zodiac. It seems like this would be something that would lead to a lot of RP between the two respective people. I have a vauge idea in mind for my girl, but before I flesh her out or pick her planet, I'll wait to see if anyone has interest in having her as a guardian. Either way, I should have a little IC blurb about her pre-magic days posted soon, just for something to go off of. -
I really liked the idea of this, and had a thought I wanted to throw out there. In addition to the girls you also mentioned the knights; would you be open to the idea of a guardian/knight that's a female?
My basic idea would involve a girl that's naturally pretty big and strong, made moreso by magic. Not really a frilly skirt wearing type, so even if she has a connection to the girls, she isn't really the sort to be "one" of them.
I also wouldn't be able to really get too involved until after my move; which is taking place over the next two and a half weeks. If those are both okay with you, let me know, and I'd write up something better to get involved. -

The hour was late and the boards were laggy and I was sleepy. ;_;

There was indeed, I just couldn't figure out how to forward it to you before I crashed last night. Z_Z

Thought I'd add to this! I took my lunch break to write out a little story to give some insight to Victoria, and her unique relationship with Aliyah. These two could potentially lead to some fun group roleplay, and we're both looking forward to getting involved with an active, friendly SG.
Good evening, Paragon City, Im Chloe Chase. As always, Im here telling it like it is on Hard Edge. The attractive, glasses-wearing redhead on TV faded out, immediately replaced by fancy graphics and images for the news program. Hard Edge was known for telling things how they were, or so the catchphrase went. Well recognized by many of the civilians, the show took pride in bringing things to the publics attention. As the opening credits ended the attractive redhead returned, walking alongside a city block by the canal in Founders. The camera panned with her, as she spoke in a calm, and relaxed voice.
Founders Falls. A nice neighborhood to raise your kids in. Right? Well, viewers, Founders Might not have ghost ships or Eochai, but within these calm, beautiful city streets one of the most evil women in Paragon makes her home. She came to the front of a mansion, waving a hand towards it as if to show off its glory. This is the mansion of Victoria Lawson. Dont be surprised if you havent heard of her. Shed prefer it that way. After all, the only people that she cares know her name are the criminals she works for.
The scene cut to Ms. Chase walking towards a slowly panning camera, her expression now severe and cold. She talked with disapproval lining her voice, even though she seemed to be walking past Lawsons gates and into her courtyard.
Victoria Lawson is a lawyer; and she takes pride in representing the worst scum in Paragon city. The Council, Arachnos, the Family theyve all been represented by Ms. Lawson in the past, and she succeeds in helping them beat the wrap with a disturbingly good track record. Shes even been called on to represent the Crey Industry in the recent scandal involving mutagenic material in YOUR kids soda.
A long, peaceful shot of the mansion is suddenly dimmed, and a dramatic single note of music implies its ominous nature.
Surprisingly, Ms. Lawson agreed to speak with Hard Edge for a brief interview. Needless to say, I was very curious to see how she could justify helping some of Paragons most evil fiends beat the wrap. People such as Archon Chelluta, a man arrested at a laboratory where he was running inhumane experiments on children. Theres a pause for dramatic effect, before Chloe continues. Archon Chelluta is currently a free man, thanks to Ms. Lawsons adamant defense that his civil rights were violated by the apprehending hero. His whereabouts are currently unknown. Hopefully, your childrens are.
The scene cuts to footage of the interview, showing a shot of the woman in question. She looks stern, with cold eyes framed by wire-thin glasses, and a business suit of finely tailored material. As she listens to Chloe ask her first question she adjusts her tie, and levels her gaze in a menacing fashion.
You consider yourself to be a good lawyer, yes? Chloes first question is simple, and leading. It seemed that Victoria was all too eager to take the bait.
I am the perfect lawyer. Victorias response came without any trace of true ego in her voice; it was spoken with a deadpan matter-of-fact tone, as simply as if she was telling someone the time. In order for proper justice to be served, an unbiased mind and an unemotional mind is required. Many people have neither. I possess both. She adjusted her glasses briefly before continuing. Modern court rooms are a circus. Emotional witness testimonies, visually striking evidence, extensive coverage by the craven swine of the media. Theres a brief shot of Chase looking indignant at that comment. I am what the justice system needs. Uninfluenced. Calculating. Logical.
And you expect the viewers to believe that? Chase was quick to fire back, pointing to the other woman. There are some that would make the argument that youre not biased! Theyd claim quite the opposite, that youre biased towards whoever will pay you the most! Their motives, their true guilt is inconsequential to you!
Im a criminal defense lawyer. Victoria responded simply. It is my duty to make sure my clients receive the fairest treatment possible. When simple minded vigilantes cross boundaries they shouldnt, I step in to protect them. To use the over the top terminology of Paragon Im the hero that protects us from the heroes.
Chase looked truly sickened by the womans words, and she grit her teeth as she forced herself to continue.
And what about this recent Archon? You think the two teeth that Sister Sentry knocked out of his head justify the abominations he made in his l-
The TV turned off with a faint buzz, and Victoria tossed the remote control back to the bed. The show was old; nearly six months by now, but they insisted on running it at least once every two weeks. Chase was an insufferable tattle-tale, boosting her own ego by running to her precious public with the citys dirty laundry. She was the worst type of the citys scum; a sycophant posing as a saint.
Victoria stood up from the bed with a stretch, still garbed in her bathrobe that she had fallen asleep in. It had been a long night of dealing with paperwork, everything from the current case the city was forming against Crey, to the invoice her contractors sent for repairs to the mansion after the Sky Raider incident. She had a good mind for paperwork, but it definitely took a lot out of her from time to time.
Padding to her kitchen, Victoria first went to the coffee pot, and poured herself a warm mug of it. The coffee had already been brewed and was left waiting for her; no doubt the work of Aliyah. A sweet girl. Sweeter than she deserved, no doubt. Not that shed ever admit it. As if to compound that thought, Victoria spotted a note on the kitchen counter, and her eyes drew to the words scrawled on it with interest. It was written in an overly fancy handwriting, and was littered with tiny hearts on it.
Remember the meeting with Portal Corp today at 2:00! Victoria read the note aloud, leaning back against the countertop. One more week and well be in the Shard. Pack your eyeball repellant. Ha ha. No doubt, it was written with much more enthusiasm than she read it. Theres some pancakes staying warm for you in the oven. And remember, you make me so hap-
Victoria grunted and crinkled up the note before she even finished reading it, wrinkling it into a ball.
stupid child. She murmured, and sipped her drink. Still, as the coffee went through her, she couldnt help but feel a small pang of guilt. Wordlessly she pushed the ball of paper against the fridge, smoothing it out with one hand and trying to get the wrinkles out of it. She slid one of the magnets to the top of the note; securing it to the fridge so she could let her eyes drift over it one more time. As she read them, gazing at the hearts, the Xs, and the Os on the paper, she couldnt help but think back to something Chloe had said during their interview so many months ago.
One thing is for certain, Chase ended her broadcast with one firm statement. Ms. Lawson is heartless, ruthless, and should be the most hated woman in Paragon.
As the words echoed in her mind, Victoria tilted her head, and softly ran her fingers down the face of the wrinkled note.
why dont you hate me, too?

Those are very awesome prizes, Ferret! It falls on my pen and paper gaming night otherwise I'd be there. Best of luck with it!

Quote:I think Princess Melody would add an interesting dynamic to your story. She sounds like she fits in well enough with the magical girl thems, and could bring an interesting perspective.Personally, I think it adds an interesting potential angle there, similar to the revelation that Firestorm was a failed fire elemental that was destined to be, until science came in and altered (but did not ultimately prevent) the destiny. Your choice though, doubt I'll make a second magical girl.
I was in a group like this back in the day, when @Anne and her crew ran one. Then again when the Sushi Squad was all over the place. They're rather fun groups; I just don't have the time to put into yet another alt. -
This one took me a while. I ended up rewriting the dialouge a few times after the art was done, which is never a good idea. :x

Quote:If you need someone to keep Catbot in line, *I* would be *very* happy to assist!
I still have plans for Amerikatt to cameo in a Catbot page! It's coming as I establish more of the story, and can be more open with cameos.
Sketched out some Halloween stuff this weekend, but not entirely sure what I want to go ahead and ink. I should have something concrete to jam with soon. Everyone's submissions so far have been awesome! -
What did I miss, everypony?

Doesn't look like I"ll be able to make it tonight after all. Sorry, I wasn't able to get enough drawing done yesterday to accomodate for losing my usual time, and comic comes first.
I'll be there next Thursday though.
Conceptually, we can say Chip's sorting out her legal issues, and isn't really cleared for hero work yet this week. Let me know what level ya'll get to so I can catch up by next Thursday. -
Quote:Chip stood on the sidelines of the fight, watching Moxie Girl, wondering. Didn't that girl kick more last week? It's like her whole style changed. Then it dawned to her.I'll be there. Just rerolled Moxie Girl with Street Justice and got her back to where she was level-wise (8).
"RIKTI IMPOSTER!" -
...wow. >.> Nothing either Dechs or Emberfly said even came close to meriting a response like that. I'm hoping this is a case of someone just having a bad day and overeacting, that happens from time to time.

Quote:I have tons of good luck with Virtue LFG Beta, too.I've found tons of great teams on the Virtue LFG Beta channel -- three of my characters (level 20ish, level 30ish, level 50 -- exemplaring of course) have gone from nothing to an almost-complete task force commander accolade in a week! Timing is definitely an issue, though. Euro evenings (US early afternoons) are definitely a lot more quiet than Euro before-work mornings (US late evenings). There's a lot more activity during weekends as well, obviously.
If you want to run the WST, tuesday/wednesday is probably a good bet for finding groups.
-- Z.
A lot of it is maximizing your options; this is where it erally helps if your main character is a Rogue or Vigilante. No boundaries, no worries. And join as many LFG channels as there are available, and just keep an eye on them for something to pop up.
Starting a team isn't something that everyone's comfortable with, but I've found that having a levelling buddy tends to take some pressure off. That way, even if you're in a terrible team, which really doesn't happen very often at all these days, you have someone there you still enjoy playing with.
The mid levels have always been a grind in CoH. I remember dreading 30-40 on all my characters. Thankfully with super sidekicking some of that pressure is off; but it can still get a little frustrating from time to time. When all else fails, I'd suggest making a solo-friendly alt like an MM or a brute, so you could have something to fall back on when there's nothing to be found teamwise.
