I should've grabbed some pics while dodging flyer debris, we had a heck of a beach party rockin' at Talos Island 6.

I'm always stuck on this one:
"Push the button, Frank." -
Quote:In Super Reflexes, everything is neccessary except Elude. In Fiery Aura, I'd take all the powers for now as well.So as a tanker how many secondary powers can i get while still being an effective endgame tanker? my build ideas were super reflexes/ martial arts and fire aura/martial arts. Id like to have lots of cool attacks to go with my theme but still tank. Thanx Chris
In Martial Arts, I'd recommend talking all the powers when you can while leveling. Once you get a better idea of which powers are handier, then you can always respec and drop whichever ones you don't like. -
Reminder to self: Tighten up the pirate speak before next Monday. Tide Shifter does not disappoint his audience!

I've been putting this together ever since the snipe changes went public. She's one of my surviving three on Virtue with the four-year anniversary badge, my first fifty, and someone I want to reconnect with despite having botched her first build. Recharge is right where I want it, I'm just iffy on her combination of ranged defense and debuffs from Radiation Infection. Spamming Irradiate is going to hurt the blue bar too, but Power Sink should cover that, right?

'Oh, you want good guy points? Then disobey your superior officer and discard any notions of security procedure any time anyone gets curious as to why John Rambo is poking around their neighborhood.'
ADDED: 'And the mole you've been suspecting since you first showed up in camp? Yeah, that's almost everyone on your 'team.' You know, the people who stood around and barely interacted with you while you ran all over saving the planet. I'm sure you'll have a huge emotional moment over their sudden and inevitable betrayal.'
ALSO ADDED: 'Oh, and that camp bully, the one who threatened you when you were going to report him to the authorities? Yeah, you'll get an email later on how he was dragged off to the stockade. I hope you weren't thinking of him actually ambushing you at some point, I mean, actions having serious consquences? Who needs that when actions can have nothing but loot, good guy / bad guy points, and a feel good email.'
... I think I'll stop now. -

In before potential threadlock.
Quote:The 800 pound gorilla isn't on top just because they were the first. Before that was EQ and before that UO. What they were the first to put out a quality product a cut above everyone else to that point, and then continued to keep the quality up over the years. And despite what everyone says, WoW isn't on top because it's the best game. It's on top because it's the first game to get enough right to hook people in. There are better games out there, but the 10 million or so subscribers have investment and friends in WoW, so WoW is where they stay.
Golden Girl made a crack at TOR earlier in the thread, but WoW has had even less content than than in the same timeframe. It's ridiculous, but Blizzard has those folks hooked.
TORtanic, on the other hand, is how you spend nine figures on a game that would have been truly state of the art for 2004, only now its 2012 and players expect a hell of a lot more for that initial $60 plus and the $15 a month. Not to mention that the whole experience was pretty much the home PC version of the Buzz Lightyear ride at Disneyland. -
I finally gave in and created a new AR/Dev. I hope the devs are happy!

Quote:Well, there's your problem. 'When required' is not always 'when available'. As I've been trying to say, support and inspirations are not always there when you need them. That's not the point - they have the option of hitting 90% resists when required, Scrappers and Stalkers do not even though their damage caps are similar.
Quote:Brutes have extra health and an extra 15% resists, why?
Quote:My comments are based on the fact that Brutes in actual gameplay (in my experience) outdamage Scrappers and Stalkers in many circumstance. -
On one hand, I can re-roll my BM into BM/Nature and finally import my all-singing all-dancing not-Exalted not-Disney princess the way she was meant to be.
On the other, Nature Affinity before Bio Armor? Scanners are indicating an Incoming Forum Meltdown! Red Alert! Shields up! Number One! ... Hold me. -
Quote:Matching the text to the pictures, it looks like the villains get to punch Penny Yin inside her Praetorian counterpart's mind. How's that 'for the greater good', eh?Edited to Add: Here's hoping those new villain schemes are fun; nice to see redside getting some content love! Maybe now I can finally stop saying 'for the greater good!'
... dammit. *drinks*
... damn. *driinks* -
So much for my Thursday evening plans... -
Let me phrase it this way then: How often do you actually see anyone chugging through insps to keep their brutes at the cap?
-
-
Quote:Rare is the team that will have all the buffs on the brute all the time.On a team the Brute can hit the same resistance cap as the Tank while dealing considerably more damage, leaving only the HP difference.
Quote:The Tank with the same buffs would deal far less damage due to the lower damage cap.
Quote:Even solo the Brute will outperform the Tank simply by using inspirations.
Using the Brute ATO proc it's possible to achieve between 80% - 100% fury, easily out damaging the Tank.
Quote:The shortfall in survivability can be made up using inspiration, allowing the Brute to again cap resistance/defence.
Due to the higher rate of defeating mobs, the Brute will have greater access to inspirations and thus survivability based around these.
a.) Said brute is fumbling with right-clicking on their insp window which means they're not killing anything.
b.) Said brute already has macros at the ready, at which point you've already entered Hardcoreville or its farming villages and nobody's balancing our ATs around that.
Quote:The Tank will also haver access to inspiarations but wil find his damage restricted by the low damage cap.
Quote:IMO there needs to be an adjustment in the damage and resistance caps to prevent this from happening. -
I've made over 10 billion over the past three months just through casual flipping across three alts. Its a nice and profitable side game, if you're more aggressive you could definitely make more faster.

Action figures of my heroes?
Today's pretty amazing as it is. Technology's going at light speed, the future comes a lot sooner than all of us think. -
... I really should look into the merits of creating an Ill/Time controller.
"Look, up in the sky! Its a bird! Its a plane! Its... an upside down clock?"
"Fear not citizens, Dali Man is here to surreal the day!" -
I'm proud to announce that just today T-34 dinged 50, my first tank to ever make Hero of the City. Now I'll be ready for anything when y'all hit Virtue in a couple weeks.
-
Quote:I like teams small, large, and raiding, and I find actual tanking to be fun when its possible, but, yeah, pretty much this.I like the low level game. I like soloing. I like small teams. I don't like raiding. I like watching hoards of enemies throw themselves at me and bounce off. I'm happy to defend weaker allies if they need it, but that's not my reason for existing. I like Tankers, but I'm indifferent to tanking.
My Elec/TW just dinged 50. The rest of his auction bids fill out and its party time. -
