Really, the only ones I'm amazed I got on Virtue:
Opposite Force
Opposite Reaction
Maybe because of the lack of grav love, who knows.
I'd say I was amazed to get T-34, but I've had that name for years, and I grabbed Temp Staff as fast as the set was out on beta, so not that amazed there. -
Oh hey a thread on the Summer Event....
*eight pages later*
Oh lawd.
I don't know about the rest of you, but this guy's ready for the actual event itself. The heist sounds downright fun, and that's not even getting to the RP potential. And gladiator battles? Tank 'n spank away, as long as I can stand atop of the last boss and shout 'ARE YOU NOT ENTERTAINED!?' -
Casting necro on my own thread, but I've been tinkering with the build some more. I sadly had to discard Titan Sweep and drop some HPs, I'll just have to put TS on a second build for whenever I exemp below 35. On the other hand, recharge is up, I'm just a little under a point away from melee softcap with one hit of DS, accuracy is OK for +3s, and with the ATO proc I can still hit awesome levels of resists. I think I'll be happy with him when all is said and done.

Quote:Star Wars? AD&D?That's why the expansion so greatly resembles a Star Wars empire/rebellion type story crudely welded onto a superhero game. Paragon wanted to tap into the Star Wars fan market.
Possibly that's also why the incarnate system so greatly resembles the upper levels of AD&D, where players become like gods. Paragon wanted to tap into the AD&D type audience.

That goes for me as well. I slotted the Theft of Essence proc, the Miracle proc, and a Performance Shifter proc as soon as I could get the A-merits for them, and my claws/dark's been rolling ever since. Admittedly, that still means using IOs, but I'd be hesitant to not grab end mod procs first chance I had if I was rolling an Inv or SD too.
-
My favorite brute is a claws/dark. Heck, he's pretty close to my favorite melee man. I also have a DB/DA scrapper I've been toying with to see how the synergies work there, I've been thinking of re-rolling my old FA brute demon into a TW/DA, aaaaaaaaaand at some point I really want to try a DA stalker for giggles.
-
Who shot first?
Oota oota, Manticore? -
Quote:One alignment merit gets you the Performance Shifter proc. Two gets you the Miracle proc and another two the Numina's. Now you're ready to rock.I am going to try and spend 50 million to get a +END IO that might fix that for me.
I've been building up a claws/dark brute and with just those procs and the Body powers, he only occasionally needs a blue skittle or two tearing through at +0x5. It'll be even better once I get his accolades, the Eradication IOs and incarnate powers will be icing on the cake. -
Quote:Dark Regen. Slap a Theft of Essence proc in there, slot for Acc/Rech/EndRed, and make sure you have plenty of bodies around you when you hit the button. Take a KB protecton proc or two, start slotting for defense, and while its a bit more of an active defense than Invulnerability, you're still stupid tough.Even then, you still end up sucking endurance like no ones business. Sure, IOs and Alpha slot might help alleviate some of that, but given that Dark has seemingly lower resistances than other sets, no inherent KB resistance and relies on 'gimmick' toggles that are incredibly end heavy...
Oh, and don't take the high tier endurance / HP eater auras unless you really need them. Maybe for scrappers for stalkers. -
Quote:Start here. But after looking it over again with Mid's I still don't see any builds that make me say "Wow, that might be fun to play".

Just watched the Make Some Noise video on MTV2. MCA was a mad genius, in all the right ways.

Mostly I just have a Spotify list for each character and I'm pretty sure there'll be repeats from my other lists, but my favorites:
Motley Crue - Kickstart My Heart
Guyz Nite - Die Hard
Skid Row - Youth Gone Wild
Celldweller - Disposable War Pigs
Immediate - Serenata Immortale
Lalo Schifrin - Opening Theme from Enter The Dragon
I play a pirate so:
Captain Dan and the Scurvy Crew - From The Seas To The Streets
And of course:
John Williams - Opening Theme from Superman -
Hmm. How evil can I be?
* Every Malta, Knives, Talon, Roman, and IDF lieutenant on up now grants Vengeance on death. I'll be kind and make an exception for titans, cyclops, and minotaurs.
* You have to get Penny, Glacia, and Infernia to the mission door, otherwise the TF fails. Go back to start, do not pass Go, do not collect 200 reward merits. -
The first invasion I fought off in Kings Row took us a bit, but I did end up with a nice chunk of 20 Fake Nemesisisisis in my defeat list.
I don't think I saw any Fakes or Warhulks in the second attack in Skyway. We were, however, fighting right on top of Synapse's pedestal so I'm thinking a good chunk of the spawn was falling off or spawning down and out of AOE range. I'll keep that in mind for the next fight there. -
Quote:Its apples to apples because you're comparing straight-up costume sets to costume sets plus. The straight-up costume sets get you the baseline. And this would be apples to apples because there wasn't else anything offered in the Super Packs.
...right?
And it would be apples to apples because no-one was unhappy with the random nature of the Packs as opposed to the one-and-done nature of everything else.
...right?
And if Paragon based any of their sales decisions on the basis of 100% customer satisfaction or bust, then there wouldn't be a Paragon Studios.
Some players didn't like the Super Packs. Some players loathed them. They still sold 600,000 of them. -
Quote:Or they could compare the sales of Super Packs to other Freedom costume sets like Barbarian or Imperial Dynasty.By offering the costume elements both ways, the Dev team could have gauged one against the other, which might have given them a better idea of how well random rewards would go over in general.
Quote:Either the Super Packs would have sold well without the exclusive items - in which case, why make them exclusive? - or they wouldn't have - which would suggest that people didn't like the way they were structured, and further Super Pack-exclusive content will continue to be unpopular. -

"We put his statue where he was most often found: Onboard the Longbow ship.
Where's the ship? Uh, you see, it was a really big statue..." -

Not a lot of new info... EXCEPT THIS:
"Sure! For the 8th Anniversary we gave away the Statesman Salute rewards to pay homage to a great hero, there will also be a new invasion involving the Nemesis (its a Nemesis Plot!) who will take over Paragon City and the Rogue Isles."
A Nemesis invasion???? Snipers everywhere, swarms of Jaegers in AP? I like!
"Villains, already established in the Rogue Isles, are growing a little restless under the thumb of Arachnos and so theyre starting to rebel to form their own group and if I were a name-dropping type, I might mention Captain Castillo and Odysseus actually working with you."
Captain Castillo confirmed for SSA #2? BEST SSA EVER. -
/em checks to see if OP has returned to post
Of course he hasn't. I am Jack's utter lack of surprise. -
Quote:OK, that part I can understand. Admittedly, part of the benefit I get for my $15 a month is incarnate goodness, so I think we crossed that bridge a while back. But I can see where you're coming from.I think that selling something that performs better than anything crafted in the game is something that is not good. I don't want to give the wrong impression of what I mean in the classic pay to win debate deal. It may not be but it bloody stinks to high heaven for them to sell them and they operate differently than the same named crafted counterpart in the game.
-
The best item in today's offerings: The VIP starter kit. One month of free VIP time for freems for just 99 cents.

Again, having played a few true pay2win games here and there, I could post a Condescending Wonka but I'll be nice.
pay2buynao, sure. I've done that with the Kinetic Combat sale. pay4moredps, maybe, but reaching for that level of performance in the game isn't even neccessary. pay2win? There's nothing to win here, outside of what we want to get out of the game. Calling SBE procs pay2in is just disingenuous.
