  1. Rowr - that was what I was thinking too - Andy Warhol style
  2. very Lichtenstein... nice!

Hmmm I can see a rash of pop art for TA, ROWR and the rest in the near future....
  3. As a fellow photoshop fanatic, nice job. I think the only thing that I would change is her pony tail, because that the moment it looks like she has a bit too much hairspray in it. With her head angled down, the hair should be dropping on the back of her neck.

But just a personal thing. :: nice job
  4. Is Pirate Hollis a CoX character and if she is how did she get those sleeves? And the sash?

Or is that artist interpretation? I guess I'm bias for the pirates, but Hollis is my favorite piece. I love the background and the shading on the piece is great!

My second favorite piece is Mika - I'm still trying to decide of her outfit is metal or just shiny tights. I find the coloring to be awesome.

Oh geez, next up is TA's dog, TA's goldfish... can we stop before you draw TA's baby pics

    [/ QUOTE ]

Probably best not to give them any ideas........
  6. LJ that looks fantastic!!! I mean they all do but I really like the look of PirateRose!
  7. No matter how hard I work to dream up unique costumes I'm always amazed how people come up with the most wicked combinations like this one.

::grovels::: I'm not worthy, I'm not worthy::

OMG! I love this pic and the style! Reminds me of Amy Brown Fairy Divas art and ornaments, which is probably why I love it so much.

If there was a style I would love to have my superheros drawn in, it would be this!

    Thumbs way up LJ!

Then practice I shall! and my names Brian....

Please tell me he's joking and he actually gets the reference, because if Brian doesn't, I'm going to feel really old.....
  10. All of you with digital school pieces are making me feel old! I did not even hear about Photoshop until my senior year of college.

I'll have to go to the back of my closet and see if there are any thing I can dig up worthy of scanning.
  11. The thumb had been bothering me too, but Graver had beaten me to it. But I wanted to say in the revised version it's much approved!

    Cuppa_Bubble,

I really like that, is it Illustrator? I've been trying my hand a that program lately too (I have a pic of my daughter that has gotten wickedly complicated).

The pen tool is crazy hard to use, so my advice is to practice it a lot to get smoother lines (I'm thinking about the nose outlines in particular). But the eyes look fantastic!

The only thing you might consider when you put the glasses on is how it might effect the hair that is draping over the eye.

But I really like it! THumbs way up!
  13. Woohoo! for the drama crowd!

<---- was in Guys & Dolls, Grease, Annie and Bridgadoon back in HS.

    I assume that's a screenshot..... nice..

I wonder how long it wil take before someone does a rendering based on this.
  15. Thanks Cuppa_Bubble for the feedback!
    Glad someone liked it!
  16. Is this a post a RP thead or a story.... I have a group of girls that will fit right in....

I don't quite remember Maestro looking so offensively flaming.

    [/ QUOTE ]

I don't know about that, but PirateRose is drooling and wondering if she needs to go evil in order to gets some of those cool costume pieces (or at least take down some villians and nab their costumes!) She wants that sash. (which is what I originally wanted for her if anyone remembers my ren fest pic by in the" do you look like your character" thread.)

We only have CoH but both hubby and I have been drooling over some of the villian options.

I did request to have my rating re-evaluated, but was turned down.

From what I have seen on that website, I think they must be seeing your art are as not developed enough versus a valid finished style. Which is pretty sad and probably why I would not post on a site like that. It's one thing to give advice and critique, but it's almost like a competition over there.

I enjoy your style as it is! Keep at it!
  19. SpookieKid

    Bummed!

Quick, everyone whip up art of TA's characters and post them so he has to wait a whole week to see them!

Just kidding.... couldn't resist. Pats the big guy in the shoulder...

    madkap

Nice and clean! Can't wait to see what he looks like with he head on!
  21. Ok, all of you have inspired me to dust off my old pre-family sketchbook and pencils and start trying again.

This is my first attempt at one of my superheros, PirateRose. It's far from done (obviously she has no face). I've also restrained myself from shading I normally have had a habit of doing and tried to stick to lines like a comic book style. So here's....

    PirateRose

I know the gloves are lousy, so I'll just point that out myself.

Also to give you some points of reference here is a piece pulled from the sketchbook that I did pre-family. And digital art I did for another character of mine more recently

All critiques welcomed, that's why I posted them!

Her hand, however, bothers me a bit. It looks more like she's gabbing her cheek as opposed to smackin' dat which she would be doing if she was telling ya to come get some. You might want to splay the fingers a bit more and straiten them out so the hand is less grabby and more smacky.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Actually I would bring the four fingers together - not splay them out more and arch the fingers back slightly. But that's just my opinion on how I would handle it.

A wonderful piece overall though and quite a departure from most of the poses we see.

I like the first one, my only concern with it is the arms looking too short. Though it might be possible that will be remedied with the coloring.

    Great job as always though!
  24. ooh ooh someone just got new faerie screen saver art!! Woohoo!

Seriously though it looks like you and your wife are a good collabrative team. You with the intial pose and her adding the detail. I actually would not have thought that the two are the some piece since some of the elements are different to the point that she had to redraw things (like the shoulder now peek out above the leaves).

What program did your wife use? It really looks like Illustrator to me and you did mention vector art. I'm just curious because I've been trying to advance my Illustrator skills so I can do this kind of art.

But I really like it! Thanks for posting.
  25. I have a character that might fit the hospital/asylum story.. Freeze Flame being a little split personality and all.

The aftermath story I'd really have to think which of my characters would work for this one - SweetRevenge would be the obvious choice...

But thumbs up to either of these.
