  1. Just found one of Jas's old posts, and I now wanna make a butterfly/dragon/wilderbeast mix! Tell me how, and I'll give you all the e-cookies you could ever want!
  2. In terms of the build, I'd say keep it as is. If it can solo an MoITF, it doesn't need modifying in any way. I'm tempted to steal it as well, and convert it for my BS/WP scrapper. I think it'd work well on him, and all the power selections would fit in exactly the same way as with a Katana scrapper.
  3. I was just about to comment on how good the build you made was, but then read Fury Flechette's post and clicked on the link he gave. I've now got only one word that I can use to reply to this... BUSTED!
  4. My BS/WP is currently at lvl 44, and I've loved playing him so far. Can't wait for him to hit 50, so I can make him the IO'd beast he deserves to be. Just because a powerset isn't all the rage right now, doesn't mean it's no good anymore. BS is still great, and I personally love mine.

  7. At the time of making the build, I completely forgot about Stealth's Def lowering when you are seen. Silly me!

    Ta da, soft capped Smashing/Lethal Def! Not so sure about the order of the powers though.

  8. Come on people! Together we can make a Dark/Fire build that's so amazing, everyone will want a Dark/Fire Scrapper!
  9. You can get a /regen soft capped for Smashing/Lethal Def if you're willing to spend plenty of money on IOs, and are also willing to have Tough, Weave, Maneuvers, and maybe even Stealth in your build.
  10. I'm with everyone else about Focus being a great Claws scrapper power. Its animation time is quick, its recharge time can be quick if you slot it properly, and it doesn't force a redraw. The main thing I love about it is it's ability to knock down bosses (not knock them back). Knocking down a harder enemy when you're on the brink of death can be a life saver, and Focus is the power that does exactly that. Hit Focus, pop a green, and be back in the fight! Hooray for Focus, the power every Claws should without a doubt pick for their build!

  12. So yeah, I've just made myself a Dark Melee/Fiery Aura scrapper. I've never seen one on the Union server, but I don't know why. The thought of having two self heal, two +End, and two +Dmg powers really appeals to me. I was wondering though, what should I be aiming for when I hit lvl 50 and want to slot the build for set bonuses? Should I be trying to get Def soft capped, or should I be aiming more for regen, recovery, and recharge? I suppose I should try and get all of them up a bit, but what are the priorities for a DM/FA scrapper?

What I'd suggest for a character that is levelling up on a budget but wants to get the most out of their character from 1-47 (I say 1-47, because when you reach 47 you can start respecing for lvl 50 IOs and set bonuses that you want) is Frankenslotting. Frankenslotting involves mixing up some IOs to get the same effect as SOs while using less slots to do so. The general rule of Frankenslotting is to buy the cheaper IOs, and not worry so much about set bonuses. Whatever bonuses you get at the lower and middle levels are just that, an added bonus. You're probably best starting this process in your mid-twenties.

    Solo'ing at lvl 50 with DOs? What are you going to be tanking, hellions in Atlas Park? If you save as much as you can from 1-50, you will probably have enough to fund the build Computer made you. You may even be able to exchange one or two of the Smashing Haymaker sets with Kinetic Combat sets if you're lucky enough to earn that much on your way to 50.

    Yep. Eye of the Magus won't be up perminently, and has a long recharge. Turn it off, and everything in terms of resistance drops.
  23. I'd be happy to join in Hami Raids more often. The last one held was my first, and I liked how everyone came together and worked as a huge team. Great fun, and I'm sure this next raid will be just as fun as the last.

    My first (or maybe second) ever lvl 50 is a invuln/stone tanker, and now that he's fully slotted he's amazing. If you want the build, I can post it for you. Call Me Awesome actually helped me get the build where it is now, and I'm still grateful for his help.

    Spines/Fire

    Gotta agree with Fireheart completely. Spines/Fire toons are rolled as offensive characters, and are not intended to be defensive. They rely on quick kills using burst and dot damage, and also on their resistance and healing. You can try all you like to soft cap their defense, but you'll be very lucky to do so. You'll also have to sacrifice some of what makes them what they are to get them to anywhere near soft capped on defense. Don't waste your time on their defense. Do what Fireheart said, and work on HP, recharge, regen and damage buffing.

    Here's an example of a build that has about as much smashing/lethal defense as you're going to get. It isn't a great build, because it's not meant to be. It's just an example of how wrong you can go with spines/fire if you aim for a defensive build. Please don't criticise it, as I already know how bad it is lol.
