Very slick work, Imperial. I saw the Hellcat logo a while back and was trying to figure out how to do something similar for some of my heroes. I'd be tickled if any of my characters inspired a logo or marquee. Feel free to pick through them
The Red Minstrel
Statuette
Queen Nefaria
Sparrowhawk
Hour Woman
Doll Face
Thanks -

No. Noooo no. When I join a PUG for a mayhem mission, this is the first sign that the leader hasn't been part of a comprehensive mission. The team should stick together - always - building extra time and completing the side missions (the kidnapping mission can be skipped). By the time the bank mission is completed a good group witll have 15-20 mins left over. -
I'm a bit of a costume junkie. Here are most of mine, sans my tanker and mastermind, which I'll add later

Flagstaff and Catseye coming soon! -
Oh wow. Your new site is amazing, Mr. and Mrs. Kindred (
). I am in love with the piece that your did for me in the way-back (still pondering putting it on a T), and happy to see that you're rolling in well deserved success. I'm sure your collaboration with Graver with be amazing and these boards will be gushing for a long time to come.
I really, really, want to win that costume contest. Now...which character to bring. -
Yup yup. Add Ascendant, for that nice rounded, full-figured look to your piece. And Light-Speed and Pillbug! And put some women in the foreground, buster. Not just flitting around like pretty little flying ponies in the background
But seriously, it's a lovely idea. It's completely subjective, but I dig the spirit of it. Good luck. -
Those are adorable Star. But I gotta say, something about their stylized 'hands' creep me out. Chibi amputees? ::shudders::
Anyway, ignore me. Keep it up -
Starchasm, your art is ridulously charming. I can't wait to more of your cameos and those wonderful aquarium pictures.
-
Uh...a work safe warning would be nice. Here I was, looking at a nice collage, and I glance to the left. I think that's just body paint and nothing else, MsBrazil
-
Holy moly! Golly gosh!
Um..if I were family would you draw something like that for me? Got any single brothers? -
This discussion has strayed from a discussion of break frees, but I'd like to make a small suggestion:
Have break frees dramatically lower accuracy. Their primary function should be for escaping overwhelming situations, not for plowing through holds and beating the neutered Dom/Controller down. Make break frees the escape inspiration, not the the attack with impunity inspiration. -
Eh, I dunno. Ugly, but far more interesting than most villain looks. Any villain who goes beyond black, red and gray is a virtual visionary.
-
Yay! Congratulations and confetti! It's always nice to be first. Those were some exciting screenshots: I never thought I'd get a thrill from seeing the Phallanx in battle.
Also, that's a lot of ice and corruptors. I hope this doesn't discourage other villains from trying a mix of different builds. -
Does anyone have screenshots of the Soul Mastery powers available to brutes? I intend to choose my PPPs based on thematic compliment rather than hard numbers (which seem to be unimpressive across all PPPs anyway) - so I'd like to know what looks best.
Thanks. -

So heres my challenge:
(1) Explain exactly WHY an AT with so many melee powers in all their different secondaries should not be effective in melee.
(2) Explain exactly WHY it is bad for a brutes secondary powers to be ineffective in PvP, but its OK for blasters secondaries to be made ineffective.
[/ QUOTE ]
Perhaps you should look to the Defender and Dominator boards for a more comprehensive appreciation of what it means to have 'useless' secondary powers. Even if Blaster secondaries had 0% chance of toggle drops, they're still arguably the most useful damage-based secondaries in the game.
Not that I agree with the new toggle drop numbers -they're a bit too low- but I think a little blapper humility will be good for the game. ((Don't hurt me Bayani!))

Neat video -thank you Devs- but every single one of those heroes standing in place would have been ASed or TP'ed. Where are the jumping beans, the crazy flyers....and the requisite stormers huddling around the gun turrets? And I only saw about 25% of combatants with energy melee: 65% is more reasonable. And why is a trick/arch defender like Manticore shooting at melee range? And why hasn't Numina put a clear mind on Miss Liberty before she got up on that platform, huh? That's not nearly enough Longbow agents to protect her from a moderately competent stalker. Tisk tisk.
Oh, and those costume designs were horrid! Serge must be rolling in his oxygenated hyperbaric chamber-bed.
I kid, I kid. Kinda. -
...
No Chum Spray? What the heck? Of course it's campy - that's its strongest selling point. This game is based upon superheroes, the poster children of camp culture. All signs pointed to a community embrace of Chum Spray...and so it's neutered. Camp is fun. Cool is boring, especially a game designer's notion of it.
Viva la Chum Spray
- Yeah, I know this isn't exactly constructive, but, well....Chum Spray! -
Xenophon's explanation is wonderful, but I see a more simple application. It's a term of endearment among [censored]. It's supposed to be funny.
"You look amazing. I hate you"
"Your boyfriend's a hottie. I hate you"
"You're going to Amsterdam? I...totally hate you"
Personally, I appreciate people who can be kind, funny, disarming and a little facetiously cruel all in one phrase. 'I hate you' has a lot of mileage in the right hands. -
Did you know that the tram network originally did not have a location menu? You had to stop at each station between your origin and desitination. Fun.

((Yay! I'm loving this thread, and kicking myself that I didn't jump on the bandwagon sooner. Please, keep posting, especially you Lady Sadako. That's some good descriptive writing, that is.))

Castle - thank you for all your attention and diligence.
The defender community is pretty upset, and some house cleaning obviously needs to be done, but I hope you never become disheartened. You have done the game and the players a great service. Viva la revolution -
Neat. Thank you Castle, for investing your time into these issues and preparing concise explanations.
But I'm a little irked by the comment that controllers naturally benefit from the control aspects of these sets moreso than defenders. I understand the reasoning (controllers control, defenders debuff/buff) but doesn't this guarantee a much greater synergy between controller primaries and secondaries than anything defenders could possibly gain from their blast sets?
* Of all the controller secondary powers, how many have control aspects?
* Of the all defender secondary powers, how many have buff/debuff aspects?
I imagine that the controller's implicit control advantage is more generously seeded in their secondary powers than the defender's advantage are in their's. The ATs certainly play that way.
Anyone know? -
No trenchcoats! Middle American fashion is still reeling from the double impact of Vampire the Masquerade and the Matrix.
I can imagine Paragon City now, from a birds-eye view: a sea of black trenchcoats and glowing energy melee fists. Gah!

Nightcraft looks wonderful, like velvety chocolate tar...but in a good way.
Great work again, Gill. -
Beautiful, as always Gill - especially Thor's Assassin. Who knew that the Nordic gods were so Byzantine as to need hired killers.
You sure he's a hero? -
Hmm. The attention to SR is nice, but I have to agree with the majority here: adding an emergency resistance system doesn't make much sense. It's a bland, patchwork mechanic for set that's supposed to have swift Kung Fu dynamic. Helpful? Yes. Boring? Definitely.
Developers - as long as you're willing to introduce unique systems to shore up an ailing set, how about this:
Add an active dodge element to Super Reflexes by increasing defense vs. our current selected target. The enemy we're actively fighting is the enemy we're actively dodging. Keep our numbers the same for all other enemies, but allow us to put the focus in 'Focused Senses'. This might also help lesson some of the PvP aim and accuracy frustration. If we see the build up coming, we can target the sniper and increase our chances of a successful dodge.
Does this make sense? Is this even doable?
