  1. I ran it this morning. We started with 8. One of our Dark/Dark defenders left just before Lord Recluce.

We started with 2 Dark/Dark Defenders, 1 Dark/Psy Defender, 1 Kin/Rad Defender, 1 MA/Reflex Scrapper, 1 Invuln/SS Tanker and an Ill/Emp Controller. I was leading and playing my Dark/Dark. We were all level 50 so death is meaningless.

We blew through all of the missions until the end with relative ease. Total time was around 2 & 1/2 hours. The AV's all came on the first pull making a reseting of aggro and regrouping necessary. The second pull was amazing. Black Scorpion, Mako and Scirocco all came. The only person who freaked was me. MY team concentrated on Black Scorpion and took him down. Then we went for Mako and defeated him quickly (3 sets of Tactics make a huge difference!). After that Scirrocco was toast. Ghost Widow would have been simple, but we still had pets. She does heal off of pets. Once the pets were gone she went down swiftly.

The Arachanos Flier went down quickly after that.

I wanted to see what happened if you didn't do the green tower first. The answer is that it goes a lot slower. Do the green tower first. Trust me. However, starting with blue just meant that the end came slower for Lord R, not that it wasn't any less inevitable. Our Tanker and Controller Kept Lord R busy while the rest of us took the towers out one by one. The first tower caused the most party deaths as we learned and got our stride. The last two went very smoothly, and Lord Recluce was almost an afterthought.

I have to give a big shout out to a terrific end team XianXi, who I knew already and is a top notch scrapper, Theta Chi, Dark/Psy Defender supreme, BurningAnger, excellent blaster, Stellar Agent, A good Tank, he knew what to do and when, Spextra (Spelling?) an amazing controller, and Hawksley our very skilled kineticist. I had teamed with only one of them before. This was very much a pick up group. But they all knew what to do and did it, even the ones that were new to the Task Force!
  2. Just finished my first STF. I was leader.

We had a Inv Tank, Ice Blaster, Mind/Kin Controller, Spines/Inv Scrapper, and 4 count em 4 KIn defenders (including me). The troller died for vengeance purposes a lot. I died through stupidity a lot. Everyone else stayed healthy, more or less . It took us slightly under 3 hours, including a 15 minute break before the final mission. All of it except for Aeon and the last mission were dead easy.

Aeon took a while, but we got him in the end. We dropped the Flier twice. Despite getting Scirroco and Black Scorpion at the same time in the same pull, we managed. Lord Recluce was the major cause of party death. But once we had two of the towers down, things went a lot smoother.

It really helps to have veterans on your team to let you know what to expect!
  3. As someone who has a 50 dk/dk, when is the next Hami raid on Test? I'm fairly itching to get me some Howling Slick.

  4. I'm very much looking forward to trying the new, revamped Hami raid. IMHO, any new or redone upper level content is very much welcome. I just wish there were more of it.

    This mission is in Faultline.

There are two parts to this mission A) find Doc Delilah and B) defeat Captain Castillo. The Problem with this mission is that currently you may not take Doc Delilah up the lift, for you both enter, but only you come out. and you lose the Doc. So to get around this you need,

    The Fix

Jump up the side of the building using the windows and ledges as landings. Delilah will follow. It will take her some time getting up but up she will get there.

That is all that I have for this guide. It was a pain for me to figure out in the first place and searching the forums to no avail to find a way to complete said mission.

This is also my first guide so go easy on me.

Corrected the spelling and a little of the grammar.
  6. Mad props on the corrections. Misspellings may seem kewl to some, but in posts that are meant to be useful they mostly come off as annoyances.

FYI, Firefox 2 has an inherent spell checker!
  7. I thought using parenthesises meant that they person suing them had , ummm, well, 'large tracts of land'.

And to think all this time they were just breaking character.

  9. Some interesting points!

I rarely carry more than 2 heal inspirations. I do tend to vary my inspiration load if I have the opportunity according to the intended opponent and my team composition. Break frees are a must for a Dark Defender. At level 50, I rarely have enough. Unless Sappers are involved, I rarely need more than a couple of blues.

    Good set of thoughts!

You have a slightly larger than paperback book-sized box containing the rules to Traveller.

Your first experience with modding a game involved using BASIC.

You remember when TSR put out Boot Hill. (Anyone can remember D&D; IT was popular.)

I still have my first edition copies of traveller, boot hill and Dungeons & dragons.

I remember when TSR was a hobbyist wargaming company in an industry dominated by Avalon Hill and SPI.
  11. Generational moment: I have a clear and distinct memory of my mother weeping. When I asked why she told me that President Kennedy had been shot.

The first computer game I ever played: Colossal Cave Adventure on my college's mainframe.

The first computer game I ever owned: The Ancient Art of War at Sea

The first computer game I owned on a computer I owned: Leather Goddesses of Phobos.

Make of that what you will

  12. That's a heap of words.

Great guide, you crystallized a lot of the thoughts I've been having about group formation and team dynamics.

    Stars for you!
  13. The main problem with l33t is that because of it, the world is facing a potential shortage of '3's. With the overuse of numbers in regular words, we may even run out of '1's and '4's.
  14. As the proud owner of a level 40 Merc/DM Mastermind, I applaud your excellent guide!
  15. Do Mooks have Consiglieres and Underbosses, or just bosses?
  16. /Thirded

Carnies, psychic clockworks, devouring earth, crey, or rikti would all be nice. Freakshow would be awesome!
  17. As an experiment, I think people who have defenders ought to make up all Defender teams consisting solely of their powerset. I've been on all Rad/* and Dark/* teams. I have friend that have done kin/* and storm/* teams as well. The universal reaction is astonishment at how effective the teams are.

I've been on all blaster teams. When well led and with appropriate strategy, all blaster teams are amazingly efficient.

I'm not advocating any particular team composition, but it can pay to think outside the box.

Incidentally Rad/* and Dark/* play very well with each other.

Well after 4 BORING days of killing family--- the Slot machine will not speak to me. Yet more outleveled content

    [/ QUOTE ]

Family bosses do not unlock the slot machine.

Marcone capos and consiglieres will grant you the gangbuster badge, which unlocks the machine.
  20. I just unlocked it at 34. Funny contact, funny missions.
