Those who bought CoV, and don't have access to CoH, may STILL wan't to play a ranged damage dealer class, that's why they may want to skip shields / rez and focus on trying to deal damage instead. I think it's hard to say if this is right or wrong... again, those people do NOT have access to a pure range damage class such as blasters.
One thing I do agree on... if you DO take a shield/rez/heal, then why not use it? -

Well, I DID (not DO) PvP. ONCE! Ok, so perhaps twice. I tried it with that corruptor of mine before, and I wasn't one bit happy with PvP. So I decided to put it off, and from that moment on I only entered PvP zones to do some missions, nothing else. As I said, I might get back once the lvl cap is raised. -

The cone immobilize is really good in PvE though.
And I'd REALLY like to know if the cone spells have finally been fixed in PvP... last time (and it was some time ago, mind you) I tried my darkie in a fight against a hero, I could not land a SINGLE cone spell... no fear (that's from the secondary dark set), no tentacles, no Night Fall... -

Well... in some crazy twisted way I can understand him.
When I created my corruptor, I was convinced by the class decription, that I would be a "damage dealer", and in no way a support class. How wrong I was.
But than again, if he'd thought like that, then why'd he pick up shields anyway? -

IMHO a stalker in PvE is already VERY slow. At least when I compare him to my corruptor.
I do not have a problem when doing solo missions. I do them on the lowest difficulty, thus I never face more than one liutaenant. As you said, they do not have those auras on before an attack, so it's possible to take 'em down.
My grudge is when I team up with someone. One more person in a team means I will need to face bosses. And it's not possible to "scrape" a boss when he's at 100% HP. Heck, I have trouble finishing them off when they're after an AS. But what's worse, is that those aura using enemies show up in twos of threes. Placate doesn't work really... as mobs tend to see right through hide and keep on shooting... and even though my stalker's hard to hit, they DO hit me... being quite a lot of them.
I don't know... perhaps I'm doing something wrong. But even here, on the forums, people stated that a stalker in a team can only hide, AS, run and repeat. And this get's even harder with those auras. Sometimes in a team I feel completely, utterly useless.
Well, at least please fix the healing/endurance recovery crystals in CoT missions...I'd really like to see an explenation how THOSE prevent me from doing an AS.

Great, you obviously didn't read the thread, as I clearly stated that I'm NOT talking 'bout PvP.
Also, one more thing... I'm not really sure about that, but I think that even auras that need to pass an accuracy check and fail it will interrupt a power. Hard to spot it though, but I'm quite sure some knockback auras would not knock me back, but would prevent AS. -

Anyway, Character Builder report Smoke Flash activation time to be 1,83 seconds. I do not know if it's more or less, but unless you are comparing various issues (in which case I have no idea), I do not think it has been changed overnight. -

I'll try to explain again.
Let's compare a damage dealing single target spell that also casts a debuff, and an aura that JUST casts a debuff. The spell, if it hits me, will interrupt an AS, sniper shot, or any other interruptable power. But after that, you are free to recast the AS, sniper shot, etc.; the debuff already affecting you won't stop you from doing that (although it might make you miss, deal less damage, etc.).
The same however, cannot be said for an aura that deals NO damage. You get a debuff, but even though you're already affected by it, you still can't cast that interruptable spell. -

If you're looking to PvP I'd definitely take dark. AR has huge animation times, does smash/lethal damage and most of the damage it does deal is DoT, which isn't that hot for PvP.

But most of the dark/* damage is also a DoT.
And it's damage output is small. While it IS possible to PvP with a dark/* set, you will need a team. Those attacks will provide -acc debuffs and some other effects. Just don't expect to deal damage.
PS. Did they fix cone AoE spells in PvP? Or do they still miss like crazy? -

A stalker already HAS weaknesses. A stalkers AS is about the only thing he's got, apart from hide (which ends on any attack or damage). A mere miss on an AS, and things can turn VERY ugly.

If an aura deals autohit damage, then I'm fine with it. I take damage, I get taken out of hide, I get interrupted. It's the status effects such as -acc that do NOT deal damage, but interrupt; that's what I'm complaining about.
It would seem to me, that the current system works like this: interrupt a spell cast (ANY spell cast, not just AS... same goes for s sniper shot for example) on ANY non-friendly status effect added. This includes positive effects, such as the healing effect I mentioned previously.
Finally, those auras seem to reset the status effect every moment (stop the effect, and start it again). So, even if I've already got a -acc on me, but I'm still hidden, I STILL can't AS.
As a comparison: let's say an enemy shoots me with something that does a debuff of some sort. I placate him, and I can AS him, even though the debuff's still there.
Now, if you want to argue about PvP here (I've read that auras are one way to defend against stalkers), then don't.I'm talking 'bout PvE!

I've noticed this in PvE (didn't try PvP yet with my stalker), and I'm sure you did too. Certain enemies cast PBAoE auras that interrupt your AS.
Now, if that aura deals damage, and I take it, it's OK. If that aura knocks me back, then I'm fine with it. But if that aura needs to do an accuracy check to see if I take damage or get knocked back, and FAILS that accuracy check (I don't get damaged or knocked back, the aura missed, like any normal attack), then why does it interrupt my AS?
Also, I THINK auras that cast a -acc debuff also interrupt AS. Finally (and this one's very silly), those green (blue) healing (end recovery) crystals you sometimes see in CoT missions... they ALSO interrupt AS (or any other interruptable spell for that matter).
Now, my question: WAI or a bug?
(If this is WAI, then I think I'll start looking for another MMORPG with devs who have a bit more sense) -

Well, the only END drain power I saw in PvP were, what you'd call it, the big ones. It left me a no endurance. Quite imbalanced, if you ask me, but that's for another topic.

Sorry, I did not know hero planner won't allow +def enhancements, that's why I asked. I use Character Builder myself.
EDIT: Wait, end reduction in Combat Jumping? I know it doesn't give a big def bonus, so enhancing it doesn't give a lot, but I'd still say it's better than end reduction, since this power is very cheap already (0.074 end/sec according to Character Builder). -
No enhancements on hide? Hmmm... It DOES give some +def, I'd put something into it.

Uhm... nope. Count 'em again.
You can get 20 powers total before you reach lvl 40.
Let's see: 8 powers from pirmary set, 6 powers from secondary, travel: 2 powers, stealth (1 power), fitness (3 powers). 8 + 6 + 2 + 1 + 3 = 20
Also, about the Divine Avalanche... Well, I don't know it's duration. From the look of it (description), it looks weak, especially that the above set doesn't have that many attack powers, so getting rid of one more to take this... If anything, it could be changed with Gamblers Cut. Besides, it's only good against meele.

It's not the only reason but I think the chance is actually pretty good, at least looks that way for a dom viewpoint. But there's basically a great synergy between the ATs. You have heaps of damage and weak defenses, the dominator has weak damage but can protect you, while you can protect the dom by killing things before their control runs out.

Hmm... I must be doing something wrong then. My "great" damage so far comes from AS. Anything after that is weak. True, I don't have SOs yet, but still, the damage after the firt enemy goes down is rather poor.
Also: what kind of difficulty setting do you think I could go for to gain as much exp as possible out of those defeat/steal missions (when doing them solo)? -
You mean the chance to crit held enemies? I've noticed that. The chance however seems rather small, if that's the only reason.

Well, yeah, but it get's repetitive, and isn't all that fast.
Also, it's a real pain when trying to do some story missions, and it turns out it's NOT a steal/kill mission... Bah!
And people say stalkers are overpowered in PvP. They should try playing one first in PvE.
