    Sat Com A
    Sat Com B
    Nexus Guard

Hey! Keep it simple! Those are bots!

Feta cheese? I LOOOOOVE Feta cheese!!!

Starts chasing TG for the Feta cheese of DOOOOOOOOM!

[Looks at the chase... sighs, and runs off to the store]

Now aint this a lot easier?
  3. [ QUOTE ]
Hope the one shot kills don't get 'looked at' too heavily for PvE. It's hard enough to cope with large groups of mobs as it is.

    [/ QUOTE ]
I believe the "one shot kills" in PvE are only for mobs killing you, not the other way round. (That is, they can't kill you like that, but you can kill them)
  4. While I agree that the regen bonus from Health is small (even when 3 slotted), I found it useful to reduce downtime. It's not really "for the fight", it's more for "in between fights".

And Combat Jumping should NOT be 3 slotted. There's no question there.

Slotting stealth is also not recommended. A single def or end reduction enhancement should be enough.

Oh, and I recently had a fight with some CoT with my lvl 15 */EA stalker... and I didn't had Power Shield. Very quickly it turned out that it was a big mistake. That shield is needed for such enemies.

    griefing

This whole good/wrong debate... does petitioning anyone actually work? If someone repeatedly throws a hold on you and TPs you into mobs so you get debt and you petition them... will this change anything?

I have a bad bad feeling it won't.
  6. Good idea about the recall friend!

I actually wanted to take both recall friend and teleport foe.
  7. Well, CoV ATs are more general... so corruptors get to deal damage and (de)buff. Multiply the number of corruptors, and you get more damage, and more (de)buffs. It's what you get when you make a more "overall" class.

I think similar things would happen if you got a team of MMs. Although that could work either way, due to lag / low FPS due to mass ammount of pets / bad pet control.
  8. Why, WHY are people reffering to them as "fluffy"?

PS. I hate nukes... take way too long to recharge.
  9. So.. it's still alive, even though the original posters are long gone and we're more or less of topic now?
  10. I wanted to give my new MM the ability to teleport, as it seems fast and "fits", in his case. However, I know Teleport is an edurance hog, and I'm not going to pick stamina. So I'll need to slot teleport, I know.

The question is, won't it be a pain to use in such a case?

    DONT RUN AWAY

    [ QUOTE ]
Get a ninjitsu stalker with caltrops, TP-foe + a Travel power with vertical movement.

Stack caltrops on the warwall above the hero base.

TP-foe -> placate -> AS. Scrap the rest if needed.

A 1 hit kill button actually, but its prolly also griefing.

Ps. Works best with nrg cause they have energy transfer.

    [/ QUOTE ]
I'd actually like to try that... just for all the people who say that keeping villains in bus stops using hurricane is OK.

    DONT RUN AWAY

    [ QUOTE ]

Or looks at health plummet to near zero... realises Defiance is almost maxed out... and knocks you down, hits Buildup, Energy Punches you, then knocks you back, then shoots you...

Most Stalkers don't make it as far as getting shot if the first knockdown hits.

I love it when people forget that blasters can hit hard in melee, especially when they have just taken a pounding...

    [/ QUOTE ]
    Wasn't it about scrappers?

    Warburg

    [ QUOTE ]
At this moment in time reputation is not a fair nor an accurate way of assessing peoples abilities in PvP.

    [/ QUOTE ]
    And it probably never will...

Actually, I think even the ranks in WoW don't really show if someone's good or not; it just shows how much free time they have.
  14. SoulWarden

    DONT RUN AWAY

I always run if things get nasty... I'm no tank, I can't take on too many hits, and the defense ain't that great. Anyone who wants me to stay will have to MAKE me stay. Otherwise I'm out of there to hide and try another approach.

I don't get it... do people EXPECT stalkers, who are one hit wonders, to stay and fight?

    Regen Stalker?

I think regen is good for a PvE stalker. My EM/regen does (in PvE at least) much better than my ninja/ninja did at the same levels.

It might not be as good in PvP when compared to other sets, or might be inferior to a regen scrapper, but it's still a good set.

EDIT: Than again, defense is to get a boost in PvE, so who knows...
  16. Are you sure? I'm almost certain I can't keep it permanently, and I got it 3 slotted with SOs.

(Quickly runs off and logs as the */ninjitsu AT to time it.)

EDIT: My apologies, you are right. I'll edit it now.
  17. I decided to make a quick overview of the pros and cons of various sets that I've played as well as some generic advice. This is for any new characters that wish to create a stalker.

Also, since I haven't played ALL the sets, some are missing. It would be great if someone could post some info about the missing sets in a similar manner in this thread, and I'll add them in (if I can still edit the post that is ).

OK, here it goes. Wish me luck!

    Primary set

    Energy Meele
    Pros:
    - high single target damage
    - chance to disorient enemies
    - does energy damage, which is less resisted than lethal and smashing damage. AS does pure energy damage, which means it's a lot easier to take down enemies in PvE.
    - has a stun power (good for PvP)
    Cons:
    - the only AoE power in the set is the final power, and that leaves the player disoriented.
Well, I can't think of any more cons to the set, apart from the fact that it doesn't have some of the pros of other sets.

    Ninja Blade
    Pros:
    - a small accuracy boost to all ninja blade attacks
    - lowers the defense of targets
    - has a few AoE powers, but all must be in meele range
    Cons:
    - deals lethal damage, which gets resisted quite a lot
    - the accuracy bonus is rather small, and the defense debuff doesn't really give that much of an advantage
    - if you don't have the blade in your hand, you will need to wait a small bit for the "pull out sword" animation; this can be quite annoying when using powers from different power pools (those hide the sword)

    Spines
    Pros:
    - deals toxic and lethal damage. Toxic is very rarely resisted.
    - it's one of two sets that have a ranged ability (Impale, whcih also can immobilize enemies, good for PvP)
    - quite a few AoE powers
    - attacks can slow down enemies (-speed, -recharge)
    Cons:
    - some of the damage is "damage over time"
    - because of the ammount of AoE powers, it doesn't have as many strong, single target powers
    - AS deals lethal damage, so it's not as effective as EN in PvE

Missing sets: Martial Arts and Claws.

    Secondary set

    Energy Aura
    Pros:
    - it's shields are "damage" based. This is both good and bad. It helps to play early in the game, as the first shield will protect against the most common damage types: lethal and smashing. It's bad, because they offer no protection to psionics at all, and don't really offer more defense than other sets.
    - Entropy shield protects against TP Foe in PvP.
    Cons:
    - shields are "damage" based (see above)
    - Entropy shield is a toggle, which means it can be "knocked" off
    - Overload offers no protection against psionics

    Ninjitsu
    Pros:
    - a very "general" power set, offering a little bit of everything (has defense, a heal, and a few more extra things)
    - defense is "positional", which means that it can defend against ANY damage type
    - mez protection can't be "knocked" off, and protects against fear and confuse
    - Danger Sense offers a small boost to perception; you can easily spot stealth using enemies in PvP
    Cons:
    - Caltrops don't have -fly; enemies can fly off
    - mez protection doesn't protect against knockback

    Regeneration
    Pros:
    - offers quite a boost to health (well, it's what it's supposed to do, right? )
    - besides allowing for a quick HP gain (Dull Pain, Reconstrution), it also allows for faster HP regeneration (almost every other power)
    - unlike other sets, doesn't require as many toggles
    Cons:
    - MoG is kind of a strange power to be in this set
    - doesn't offer any defense apart from the defense in Hide

    Super Reflexes
    Pros:
    - positinal defense, and quite a lot of it in the end (highest defense from all the sets)
    - Quickness provides a fair +recharge boost
    Cons:
    - Elude can't be used to attack
    - to get the highest defense, almost all powers are needed

    General Stalker guidelines:
    - get the core stalker powers ASAP: Assasin Strike, Build Up and Placate
    - get the "core" of your secondary set; be it defense or regeneration. The most important skills are usually at the very beginning. Those will almost always need to be slotted well.
    - get mez protection ASAP; every set has such a power
    - IMHO the stalker gets fun after lvl 24, when you have all the core skills, stamina, and a travel power. That's the moment when a stalker becomes complete for PvE. So if you find it a drag, try to "get through" to lvl 20+. (Again, this is only my opinion)
    - While Hide doesn't work like expected in PvE (if you attack a mob and enter Hide, he'll still see you), it can still be used to your advantage: run away and wait behind a corner. When the enemy comes, you can hit him for double damage.
    - Do Not Be Afraid To Run! Even in teams!

OK, that's about it. Feel free to comment, and it'd be great if someone could post some info on the missing sets.

This post is not intended for veteran stalkers; they most likely know what they're doing. This is for new players, to get the most out of their new charaters.
  18. After I saw the heroes today in Sirenes, I decided to make yet ANOTHER stalker, with an even more dedicated PvP build.

The place was full of flying trollers with repel-like powers.

(Than again, I had my 27 lvl stalker who is COMPLETELY not built for PvE ATM and is still awaiting his 32 and a respec. But the number of those trollers was almost sad.)
  19. [ QUOTE ]
Its the cornerstone of my specific PVP build thats why end draining toggles have been dropped, its also vital on my storm troller killing runs to get out of line of sight when impaling. As I said before my build is quite unusual and specialised As has been said I wouldnt recommend it for a PVE build

as for ASing flying foes, I guess Im experienced with it now as if they in the air they going down

    [/ QUOTE ]
With regard to end drain... AFAIR from my corruptor, Fly is VERY end hungry, toggles or not. I found that any attempt to fight in the air (with fly instead of hover turned on) ended quickly with me running for end (PvE wise, I don't PvP with that corruptor).
  20. [ QUOTE ]
UK : Turn up in jeans and T-shirt for any game running, Go to peace at the drop of a flag; Drink;Game;Drink;Game; Collapse; Wake; Drink Coffee; Repeat, Treat Dice like Missile Weapons.

    [/ QUOTE ]
I GOTTA play a game with some people from the UK.

I assume you have hover (for AS-ing flying enemies). How fast is Hover with SS?

    [/ QUOTE ]

Nope fly as well, hover sucks as SS doesnt affect it, the 3D escape route is v useful at times too

    [/ QUOTE ]
Well, that's odd. It must make AS-ing flying foes difficult, due to fly's inertia, and also quite an end-drain.
  22. [ QUOTE ]
In PVP TP is a great get out of jail free card, though I personally dont like it.

I use Fly and SS combined on my PVP build and it rules

    [/ QUOTE ]
I assume you have hover (for AS-ing flying enemies). How fast is Hover with SS?
  23. [ QUOTE ]
its a pity, but I couldnt agree more with you there. When stalkers stay and fight, I just put brawl on auto to detoggle their mez protection

    [/ QUOTE ]
Ahh, I knew */ninjitsu stalkers had something more after all! You won't knock their mez protection, as it's a clicky, not a toggle.
  24. [ QUOTE ]
Depends what level, but EM or spines are probably the two best PvP sets since they deal the least resisted/defended against damage.

    [/ QUOTE ]
I would actually say they're best because one has a ranged slow/immobilize ability that also deals a lot of damage, and the other has the best single target damage and a stun.
  25. I watched that ad, laughed a bit, but then I realized... why not?

No one's getting hurt, they're having fun, so what's the big deal again?

OK, so they might not get along with more hardcore roleplayers (who like everything to be a bit more detailed and fitting), but who cares?

PS. I myself am sick and tired of all the typical fantasy scenarios in all the games (dungeon, dragons, warriors, mages, demons... BAH! Boooring!). So I for one would probably enjoy such a game; making fun at all the damn stereotypes.
