No fair! You are SO gonna get Cold Warrior before the rest of us!
-
You might want to run CoHHelper and post the results. Latency shouldn't be THAT bad.
Or are you meaning framerate?
Either way, something's still broke. -
We now have the ability to turn email OFF for anyone not on your Friend list or in your SG.
Which means now the spammers will attempt to wheedle their way into your good graces before spamming. -
I have used dialup when DSL was not available, not yet installed, or down. I expect I will need to use it again as a fallback.
Currently, I do not use it, but I can have it set up and working within about a minute of my VDSL dropping out. This has happened several times due to weather - Texas likes to have electrical storms apparently, who knew? -
Quote:Yah I'm in the same boat. Voicechat would disrupt the household.Well, it goes beyond that. I don't think my wife wants to listen to CoH conversations all night long and I don't think it's fair to isolate myself from my family by wearing headphones (and I'd be talking anyway). Basically, for several reasons, the whole voice thing is kind of a non-starter for me.
It's cool. It's just like if everyone decided the best time to play was 2am-6am or something. My own situation doesn't fit with what everyone else is doing. No big deal.
Edit: I'll still be on 606 (no reason not to be) so if anyone is chattering there, you'll have an audience... heh -
Oooh! You still taking requests?
I'd love to expose this lot to Supreme Beings of Leisure - I'm thinking "Mirror" would be awesome. -
Yep! My Deviations inbox is getting spammed! but it's all GOOD, damnit!

I have five level 50's.
1) My main, SoulTrain, a Kinetics/Energy/Psychic def, started as my third character back in 2005, and sllloooowly leveled up through two supergroups and a LOT of soloing. This is odd because she absolutely rocks on large teams... altho' my "Aim - Team Teleport - Fulcrum Shift - Nova" combo tactic tends to make a lot of teammates go WTFJH?? I tend to want to be holding the star when I do that, lest I be summarily kicked.Still, no one's ever faceplanted as a direct result of that maneuver.
2) Feral Tigress, the 'token catgirl' that turned into my main 'teamed' character. She's a Claw/SR/Weapons Scrapper build, that I LOVE taking on ITF and LGTF runs, as well as ship raids.
3) Dame Demolition - Robotics/Traps/Mu MM - One of my first villains, started to 'give MM's a try' in CoV Beta, and then rerolled when CoV went live. I tend to use her to farm IO's, now, and I've got her set up as a 'wrecking crew' with both builds and macros to make robot control very precise and flexible.
4) Mistress Ohm - Elec/Elec/Elec "Blapper" - another early character, my first serious RP character. Build is short on long-range attacks and heavy on high-burst-damage, lockdown, and sapper powers. She's got three holds (two ranged, one melee) that together can chain-hold a boss without help.
5: Daisy Chain - Martial Arts/Ninjutsu/Soul Mastery Stalker - My second villain 50 and my very first villain character. Much like the scrapper, she's fast and deadly, albeit a bit more fragile. -

Hey, good luck on the exam! -
The Master Boot Record is a file in a specific location on the drive (so that the BIOS can find it). If it gets corrupted, the disk is still usable to store data, but you can't use it as a boot device.
The MBR in turn will point to where the actual OS "startup" files are located - when you put the Windows DVD in, the MBR on there is what's getting you going - you just then tell the system that no, you really would prefer loading the OS from the hard drive, not the DVD.
If the MBR fix does not work, the alternative is to purchase another hard drive and reinstall the OS onto it. Hook your existing drive up as a secondary (data) drive. You will probably have to reinstall any apps you use, but their data files will still be intact. -
Quote:She can do sweet and innocent.Great art...!
I've got darkvanessa on my dA watch - even her tamest pieces are quite saucyNot that that's a bad thing.... Been tempted to jump on one of her commission deals myself but I'm a bit afraid of what she'd do to my poor sweet innocent Fenian....
It'll just look yummy.

I would do this:
Copy the linework to a new layer, and then use it to mask off the areas you're coloring (flatting). Then when you've got the flats done, move the linework layer above the color layer, and change the blending mode of that layer (can't recall which one makes white transparent and black opaque, but that's the one you want).
You should end up with crisp lines delineating your flats.
You can then work on doing shading and highlights on other layers atop the flats, and depending on the way you want the art to appear, put them below or above the linework.
Also, if you're getting a lot of dithering along your lines, try changing your Anti-Aliasing setting to OFF or Hard Edge. If it's set to On, or in a Soften Edges mode, it'll smooth out the transitions between lines and colors, which isn't what you want. -
Then yours must be the only copy.
And yes, now that I'm thinking straight (getting old sucks!) it was the B McKinney piece I put up, not yours. I DID remember seeing it in the gallery tho'. -
INF files are commonly used to specify settings or installation options.
Not having one that is requested by the installer = you need to re-download the install package, or get another one cos the one you grabbed is incomplete. -
The Nazi Party were fascist in nature, as was Mussolini's army/state.
I believe the Council is loosely based on Mussolini, brought forward.
Arachnos was originally an organized crime/terrorism group, that once it seized control of the Etoiles, became an actual nation. There's parallels to this all over, from various dictatorships in South America and Africa, to (some would say) the Republic of Texas in the original incarnation. -
OOh yes! One of my faves too. Was wondering if you were still around, and drawing!
And yes, I think I tossed it into the Adversaries group or whatever it's called. Feel free to submit the original, and we can pull my copy, no? -
I wish I could find the sound file for that portion of the St Martial map.
I'd sub in Creature Feature's "Greatest Show Unearthed". -

On Widow's Chain (redside) if anyone's on throwing out invites.
Whups. Guess not. Needed elsewhere tonight. We'll hook up this weekend, yes?
-
OK.
Most of my characters (including my main and all of my other 50's red and blue) are on Virtue.
But i did move the following:
Senorita Noche --> Guardian Redside
Cosmic Ringmistress --> Pinnacle Blueside
Annular Eclipse --> Victory Blueside
Raven Windtalker --> Justice Blueside -
Did you clean the old drivers completely off with driver cleaner, reboot to standard Windows VGA drivers, THEN install the new ones?
If not, you may be still using older driver DLL's, which will receive instructions on how to render stuff, but the code may or may not work.
The OTHER thing to check... is inside the case. Specifically, airflow and dust. You need lots of the former and as little of the latter as you can manage. Otherwise your GPU may be getting close to overheat failure. -

DEVO wasn't THAT nerdy.
That honor would probably go to Haircut One Hundred.
But yes, combining funk/pop with DEVO would result in some possibly catastrophic musical mutations. Altho' they did do a reasonably decent job with "Workin' in a Coal Mine".... -
Not sure how nic teaming would do much other than iron out latency as far a speeding things up is concerned. Optimally you want both connections to go through different switches/routers, possibly as part of a vlan or vpls setup, that way, no matter where the 'lag' is, the other 'route' can compensate. If you have a link in common with the teamed cards, it becomes a single point of failure for both.
We use NIC teaming on our servers for an entirely different reason: redundancy and automatic failover. If a nic goes bad, a cable comes loose, or a switch goes down, the other NIC will assume the IP of the "team", the router upstream of it will immediately advertise a new failover route, and the network traffic is never interrupted. We can then fix the problem 'hot' while the server is up, or, we have time to truly fail services over to another box before taking the affected machine out of service for repair (if the card is an onboard NIC instead of an expansion card NIC, for example.)
