maybe they didnt say it directly but this feels like it was a direct gift to our demographic. -
got my computer situation taken care of, are we still on for Dec. 5th?

Quote:the debuffs drop as soon as the toggle drops, its not like hurricane. the debuffs apply as soon as the animation finishes. Also, happen to know if the Rad toggle effects linger for a few seconds after they drop, or do debuffs drop immediately after toggles drop?
And do the toggled debuffs take effect right at animation or is there a delay for them to take effect?
one tactic ive seen good rads use is toggle the debuff they dont really need 1st to get you to mez them then they toggle the more useful one so that it lasts the whole supression period. -
Quote:the thread ended here guys, silit created pvp. also she has a temp account backing her up so it must be true.
I've been PvPing since i4 beta.

thanks thats reassuring, i might pull the trigger tomorrow if i dont see any better cyber monday deals.
outside of custom builds i dont usually see any better graphics cards in laptops under $1.5-2k and i dont want a custom built computer unless i am the one building it. -
will this$650sony@bestbuy run the games decently? im looking for something cheap to replace my busted winxp desktop that was running an ancient p4+1.5gb ram and a newish radeon 4650(agp, lol).
if i cant get something around this price i'll likely just tear down my desktop and rebuild it. what do you think, will the GR updates run fine on that or should i look elsewhere?
things i liked about it:
its sexy
screen resolution+gpu for the price
keyboard
hdmi if i ever want to move onto the living room tv
win7 installed
priced cheaply
things i wish it had:
bluray
slot load drive
backlit keyboard
i have no idea what the recommendations are for GR, so if this isnt a good build please let me know what you think i should look for. also if it matters i was planning on trying aion someday if it maintains popularity for a couple more months and would like a system that can run that on whatever medium settings they have over there, if anyone knows.
thanks

i just broke my computer today somehow. hopefully, i will have a replacement by the time of the reschedule.

co sent me an email for free reactivation this weekend, too bad i already threw away the dvd.

ime, from the average 2-3 hour zone pvp session 1 person might shout over broadcast they got a recipe the entire time across the entire zone. i have gotten maybe 5 or 6 since they went live and all i do is pvp. the one nice thing about the rarity is that if i do get lucky enough to have one drop on me i can io an entire pvp toon on the proceeds. the way it is now, people who come to pvp for the loot are going to be disappointed 99% of the time.
here is proof of the sillyness of random dropping. i was happily pvping on my thermal corruptor for hours until my team decided to switch to heroes because the zone was villain heavy and this happens w/o me even being near the kill or firing a shot(on my earth/emp, lol):
-
i used to have a rad/rad/power defender that flew and had tp. i used to tpfoe mms out of bg and 2 shot with cosmic burst and total focus.
this was a looooong time ago though, like i7-8 when rv zone farmers were usually mms. -
Quote:doms might get fiery embrace but blasters get defiance. if you run a typical attack chain of fire/ vs /fire assault or ice/ vs /ice assault the blaster will always do more damage.BLASTER ice bolt = 96.9 cold dmg
Dominator Flares = 105.5 fire dmg
BLASTER ice blast = 145.3 cold dmg
Dominator fire blast = 140. 7 fire dmg
BLASTER Bitter Ice Blast = 125.3 cold dmg
Dominator Blaze = 164.4 Fire dmg
Now keep in mind thats the blaster primary and thats the dominator secondary. Dom still does more dmg. And yes i agree that blaster's get BU+Aim. But Fire doms also get fire embrace that is 80% dmg buff that last 30 seconds. Aim + Bu last 10 and up about as much as fire embrace. Like i said blaster's got wrecked. ESPECIALLY ice.
to the OP: i personally hate masterminds because its too close to gladiators and bodyguard is cheating. -
what if i dropped levitate altogether for TK and move the extra slots into Lstorm and/or O2? the only downside i see is gale having lesser range, but its aoe so it might catch 2 people or something. i thought tk was crap for all but defenders anymore tbh, i havent much played with toons that have it lately though.
i rarely slot my travels too much anymore but i guess hurricane would probably benefit from that. still its a tight build so far, at most i'd be able to slot ss with 1 more.
maybe i'll switch out the numinas from hibernate for the regens in O2 also, to get better values where its more noticeable. -
so i have this mind/storm from the free 50s days lying around and the other day i get a decent pvpo drop and now have about a half billion inf so i want to build it for some team action. i came up with this having only played a fire/storm corr before and only up to mid 30s/sirens.
is it a waste of time or do you think it could have some use as disruption? i slotted gale instead of levitate because ive seen it break through 41 -kb before. will i miss not having tornado or Lstorm super slotted? any storm pvp experience is appreciated.
keep in mind my budget was a deciding factor for some of the enhancement/power choices. i tried to avoid using zephyrs and lotg -rech because of cost, but i already had the fitness uniques saved in my base from an older pve toon i gutted. if this is a bad idea i also have a sd/ss tank i could build too, i have zero experience on tanks though and only a support emp troller so theyre both relatively new to me.

no its not immediate, it decreases over time. still sucks though...
if a match goes to sudden death most people just say gg and accept the match results as a draw. theres nothing wrong with a tie once in a while. -
I would drop anguishing cry and take soul storm just for the kb included from the animation, just be careful timing when to use it depending on your team composition. also, i'd slot a kismet into stealth since you will most likely be running it always.
Quote:slot Aim with 2 rech IO's and put the +perc proc in the 3rd slot Quote:Blaze does more base dmg but the real problem is the short range of it not to mention it has a higher base recharge.
edit: oh just noticed no enforce morale, skip soul storm and just get that. -
as the sudden death timer ticks, everyones max hp decreases. by the time its almost up a 1600hp toon is down around 200 or so but thats an estimate since i am usually freaking out too much by the time i get around 300 to keep watching my #s.
and yes i agree, its sucks that we cant turn it off. -
Quote:kinda ironic that earth/ea was originally touted as good because of it being able to debuff defense and hit reliably when noone takes the debuff patches and the hold negates the real reason people paired earth with energy, power push.
my relatively odd concoction. i added earthquake over veng just to try out something. quicksand though, might have been the better choice, but the build gets overly tight then.
the main issue on my earth/ea dom is actually hitting stuff. i've been a bit more careful with my acc here, but it's still a very very tight build. while i liked con's, i think the hp was a bit low on it. -
you could probably go super cheapo and drop the pvpios and a couple zephyrs if you slotted 4 kin crash+HOs in the energy blasts.
Quote:i had an earth/ea for about a week then i rerolled fire/ea because of stupid [fossilize]. worst. power. ever. One of the worst things about stone is how your hold and immobile mess up the sweet sexiness of /ea's kb. -
the system is kinda tricky in a way, +damage and +res are tied together somehow but there is no way to enhance -damage or -resistance, outside of -resistance io procs.
-
while on the subject of the "exploit"(im using quotes sarcastically here, not poking fun at you), you can also slot your ally shields with just 2 centrioles and get ED max resistance enhancement. i used to do this when i pvp'd on my sonic defender and thermal corruptor.
to fix this "exploit" the devs would have to do alot of work and considering how busy they are all the time with the next issue etc etc.. i doubt it will get looked into before you get tired of the toon, unless youre a 1 toon person or something.
the cost was negligible to me because my server is the best raiding server, justice. -
how important is kuji-in rin these days? if squishies can get by with just acro in todays pvp shouldnt stalkers be ok? maybe use cons build but drop rin for stamina?
my only stalker was ma/nin but i havent played it in like 8 issues.
