Quote:Aye, Shivans and Nukes would be wicked helpful.Love it when a SF runs smoothly. We went through all the missions and mobs fast and easy. We had also tried to see if we could run it in Master mode but that didn't happen. :P
The Recluse SF is up next on our hit list (*shudders*). From previous experience and joining in on Kidengineer's speed runs, we'll definitely need more support ATs. If you can, try to read through the Paragon Wiki's Recluse SF page. Way at the bottom there are strategies and tips. I don't mind if the SF takes a bit of time, but it'd be nice to complete it on the same day. xP
See you all Sunday!

Laters, Demon. SF Sundays won't be the same without you, but you can read all about it on the forums.

Quote:If you're opening Kid's Jedi Academy for the Advancement of Hamidon Smack-Down, how many human sacrifices do you require for an entry fee?...Hell, if someone would just like to lead at some point down the line, I'd be more than happy to train them to become a raid leader...
Seriously, though, if you're offering, I'm accepting. Have toon, will travel. Drop me a PM, or in-game @Sokyoku. -
Quote:How's come I didn't rate a place in this, our finest screenie, yet?? <sniff, sniff> Guess I'll have to commit seppuku and get my own special screenie.Signing up for the ITF. My global is @Petal Mist
Cya tomorrow.
I took a "group pic" inside the mission. -
Quote:Meh, it is my Wu-Tang Style that you fear. The later. I'll make a topic in a couple of days explaining in detail.
The short version is I'll be back when Rogue launches.
I'm in for ITF this Sunday, and I'd be glad to help you out with leveling, Gothess. I need to get Tripp up a few levels, anyway. I'm thinking Thurs-Friday-ish, possibly Saturday-afternoon-ish. Vague enough? -
I will add one thing: T has the patience of a saint. At least, that's what I've surmised from my few chance encounters w/ him.
-
Sounds like I missed a firestorm of a show....I'm not sure if I should be disappointed or pleased that I did. :/

Quote:Respect. Pretty clever, Rasta.Thought this up while at work.
Now this is a story all about how
My server got picked, and I've been here till now
Now I'd like to take a minute, so just sit right there
And I'll tell you how I came to reside on Protect-air
In West Pennsylvania, born and raised
On the internets, is where I spend most of my days.
Tweetin' and Tube'n and acting a fool
Just doing my best to fake being cool
When a buddy of mine, showed me this game
It really got the juices flowing in my brain
I rolled one little defender and my Life got changed
A copy of my own I just had to arrange.
I raced into the store, and when the clerk came near
He had a nametag on his shirt, and he smelled like beer.
If anything I thought this guy was a zero
But I said, ah forget, Yo Homes gimme City of Heroes!
I, In, Stalled the game around seven or eight
and said to myself, this game will be great.
I made my account, and I was finally there
To rock Radiation, on the server Protect-air.
Yes I get bored at work. -
Quote:My roommate calls these scheduled forrays into CoV "playdates" (kills me every time he says it), and I think this "playdate" is my favorite.Good job everyone! We completed two SFs today. The first one went pretty smoothly, while the second one at the end took a little longer than expected. Still, all in all it was fun as usual.
I'll see you all next week and REMEMBER that our scheduled time has changed to one hour earlier. We start at 4pm PST/ 6pm CST/ 7pm EST! (Looks at Dorn.)I'll be there w/ Tripp, again.
Have you sent in your application to MENSA, yet? I think they might have an opening for someone w/ your deductive reasoning skills.
Quote:A simple edit to the first post stating the current schedule should suffice.
Edit: And I like this picture. -
Quote:Don't listen to 'em, Astral. "They" said that my Martial Arts/Ninjitsu Stalker would suck, too, but he gets the job done. Like Grey said, "(which usually denotes the player is looking for a challenge)... ", and he was right.Starlight Blade is my main-Brute villain: Dual blades and Super Reflexes? (I think it's called, the Agility one) and pool of Super Speed atm. It's fun, but everyone says not terribly powerful, but it's just fine for me
-
I'll be there for both w/ Tripp Breaker. See ya then.

Sorry, fellas, something came up and I'm not gonna be able to make it, but I'll take a rain check if you're gonna do something like this again in the near future.
Just post a thread or contact me in-game @Sokyoku.
-
I'd be up for it, too. The only problem is my one and only hero is only lvl 34. So, I guess what I'm saying is that I'll take part as long as my toon permits me....as I sit here and think about it, lvl is irrelevant, isn't it?
Guess I was thinking about SF/TF's. Disregard my last, I'll be there.

Quote:Ok, so it looks like I'm back. Had to get a new wifi pci adapter thing-a-ma-bob. So far, so good.
I'll see you guys next Sunday. I think we can repeat it if no one else minds. Let me know.
But, seriously, I don't have a problem with running it again. Like Demon, it's quickly becoming one of my favorite SF's. Besides, I have to make up for last run's two floor-inspecting bouts. Still trying to determine how much is too much w/ Tripp, and I'm still a little shaky on the whole bruting thing. Practice makes perfect, right? -
Quote:We won.
Something bugged up when I was trying to take a screenshot, so Lora Claws took this. Sorry, I don't have everyone's names.
Edit: Assuming you figure out what went wrong, we could do this SF again next weekend so you can get the badge.
Or rather, you guys could do it again next week. I won't be here next weekend.Quote:Sad face. I wasn't able to make it. I was hoping that I could get back from LA in time, but no dice =/
Id be up to do this again (err.. once) since I missed this. but I can also move on to the next SF if people want to move on.) sometime this week? I'd be interested in helping out. Just give me a time/day to be there.
-
Quote:We'll let this one slide, but the next involves thumbscrews.Sorry. I just moved and had my stuff shipped. It should be arriving around Thursdays of this week and if nothing broke on the way to the new place I should be around for this coming weekend's SFS.
I forgot I said I'd let you guys know if I would be able to attend or not. Doh! I can't wait to get my computer back!
Quote:Hrmmm. What is everyone bringing?
My computer is waiting at the post office. Will be picking it up tomorrow. So, this Sunday is a go if all goes well.) Or, I've got a dom that fits the bill if we get a little melee-heavy.

Quote:That's the first thing I do to almost everyone I meet. Partly, to see if what's being said matches the number of months on the badge. Mostly, because vets w/ sixty-something months under their belt don't seem to be interested in talking to strangers. (I know mother told you not to talk to strangers, but I promise, I don't bite.....at least not without offering aneseptic spray afterwords.People check vet badges the minute they see a stranger, it's a fact (and don't let me hear someone even try to say they don't - you're FOS and everyone knows it, whoever you may be).
) Or, if they do deem you worthy of conversation, it's to say something less than eloquent/helpful. EX: During my first month of play, I was sent to G-ville for insps on a lvl 15 toon. My first toon, btw. I was told the best insps in the game can be found by the black heli on the other side of the Isle. I was less than pleased with what I found. That curbed my enthusiasm for talking to anyone above my vet level for a while. Luckily, I have a great sense of humor (albeit dry) and recovered from that quickly enough.
I've only been playing for year, almost exclusively on Protector. Any/all Alts on other servers have long since disappeared. I'm one of the rarities (at least, that I know about) who has a stable full of villians, and one Hero, that I only play when I get specific requests from the few friends I have made. (as I've come to understand it, the blueside pop is much higher than redside) As such, it's been difficult finding anyone to teach me anything without a "you really didn't know that?" undertone. It wasn't until I started frequenting events posted on the forums that I have made greater strides in that area, without the undertone. Even still, I find myself feeling like an outsider on my home server. This isn't a complaint, as I don't take rejection hard.Everything I've said speaks to my opinion of how close-knit this server is. It's been like the hazing I had to endure during my USMC days: fun, a little embarrassing, and a sign that they care.
Just a suggestion to the "old-timers", be more friendly, or at least curtious. You didn't start with an encyclopedia of knowledge at your disposal, either. -

I can't believe I forgot one of my favorite scenes in Pulp Fiction:
Vincent: Want some bacon?
Jules: Naw, man, I don't eat pork.
Vincent: Are you Jewish?
Jules: No, I ain't Jewish, I just don't dig on swine, that's all.
Vincent: Why not?
Jules: Pigs are filthy animals. I don't eat filthy animals.
Vincent: Yeah, but bacon tastes good. Pork chops taste good.
Jules: Hey, sewer rat may taste like pumpkin pie, but I'd never know, 'cause i wouldn't eat the filthy mother******. Pigs sleep and root in s***. That's a filthy animal. I ain't eatin' nothin' ain't got sense enough to disregard it's own feces.
Vincent: How 'bout a dog? A dog eats his own feces.
Jules: I don't eat dog, either.
Vincent: Yeah, but do you consider a dog to be a filthy animal?
Jules: I wouldn't go so far as to call a dog filthy, but they're definately dirty. But, a dogs got personality. Personality goes a long way.
Vincent: Ah, so by that rationale, if a pig had a better personality, he'd cease to be a filthy animal? Is that true?
Jules: Well, we'd have to be talking about one charming mother****in' pig. I mean he'd have to be ten times more chaming than that Arnold on Green Acres. You know what I'm sayin'?
What a great movie. -
Quote:This, this, and more of this. My favorite boss fights were from this game. The Ruby and Emerald Weapons were so freakin' sweet. And who doesn't want a chest full of materia? Or a nine foot ostrich-chicken hybrid that you ride through the trippiest hallway I've ever seen?? I defy you to say you don't. It's like saying you don't have a secret desire to own a monkey.... but I guess I keep comparing them to FF VII. Nothing's been as good. They've been good... just not AS good.
-
Quote:Agreed. The equipment/villa upgrades are awesome, adding a little more depth to the game, IMO.Actually... I ended up picking up Assassin's Creed 2. It's a gorgeous game.. just beautiful. I'm enjoying it a lot.
Quote:Playing Dante's Inferno since it arrived. This is one crazy *** game. It's like someone's psychotic nightmare. I can't even put on these boards what goes on in that game without getting banned.
Put me down for a double "squeeeeeeeee!"
I've played them all except for XI (took me several years to come around to the MMO craze), and have yet to be disappointed. Even X2 was fun, for what it was. Seems like only yesterday I popped FF in my NES, after blowing in the bottom of the cartridge, of course. All of you old enough to remember actually playing NES will know what I'm talking about.

Nexus has a good point. I put ME1 back in after my first playthrough on ME2, and the combat system was much clumsier in the first. Tapping 'A' to get behind cover is waaaay better than trying to run against a wall to do the same. The heat clips were annoying at first, but all it made me do was ration my ammo a little better, instead of spraying areas w/ suppressive fire while I waited for my teammates to find cover. Usually resulting in their deaths. After a while, I didn't even care if my teammates survived or not, as I was doing all the killing anyway. In ME2, the team actually puts forth an effort not to get killed and help out, not to mention the stackable biotic attacks that detonate.
As for the planet scanning, it was neat at first, but it got old real fast. The only thing that livened it up was the discoverable landing sites.
Don't get me wrong, Gemini, if it's not your cup o' tea, it's not your cup o' tea. I'm not trying to convince you of anything. That's what I love about the States: you're free to make up your own mind.
