I know that there are a couple of people that were mentioning that they were getting it. I am curious to get your impressions of it. So far I've spent a few hours on it going real slow, and I like it so far for the most part.

That they changed how Biotics works is a little disappointing, and kind of kills my Adept Shepard. It took me a little while to get used to the changes in combat. The new squad mates are very interesting.

What do you guys/gals think?

I am enjoying it a lot.

I played a soldier my first time through, so I don't know how biotics worked before (I went Vanguard with her this time, so I'm getting more biotic usage).

I'm very anxious to see how pursuing a romance on this ME will affect your romance from ME1 since I do understand they will be back for the third installment.

I will say, however, that it has not caught my interest the way the first one did. I was engaged by the story almost immediately, and, while I AM enjoying it, I'm just not as lost in it as I was with the first.

I'm having a lot of fun.

I stuck with my Engineer role from the first game, and I'm enjoying the changes to those abilities a lot. The Drone is very useful, and Incinerate and Cryowhatever are badass.

After seeing what happens with Ashley/Kaiden (sp?) last night, I haven't decided if I'm going to try to maintain my relationship with Liara or move on to Tali or Miranda. We'll see, I s'pose.

And Jacob is super hot. Unfortunately, it seems that in the future, only women can be gay. :/

Tali is a romance option..... really?

.... well, that's interesting.

...and, ya... Jacob is hawt. *fans self*

The problem with Biotics is that they are largely ineffective until you drop a target's shields. Also the global cool downs are a drag.

My Sentinel is having a blast, but the story is not as engaging as the first so far. I love that the Mako has gone away, but scanning is tedious as best.

Not too many enemies have shields or barriers, though. Only about 1 in 5 or so from experience so far, though I know from directing Jacob and Jack that biotics are lulz until they're down. I usually have myself (yay engineers!) and either Miranda, Mordin or Garrus remove shields and barriers first, then have the biotic users attack.

I know that must suck for biotics players, but for me it adds a little more strategy.

Scanning gets better when you update your ships scanner, but still is a little slow. But the new upgrade/inventory system that it comes with is so so so much better than the annoying assloads of ammo, armor and amps inventory junk in the first one. If I had to pick the most annoying part of the first game, it would have been the annoying inventory managing I had to do before, during, and after every mission.

For me it would be that unbelivably annoying jingly music that would play while you ran all over the Citadel trying to talk to people...

...but inventory would be a very close second.

Jeez I hated that. I Omi-gelled my Thorian grenades once accidentally, while trying to make room to take them.

I do miss my Spectre Super gear and the weapons that I picked up on Pinnacle station. Tonight, I'm going to visit the Normandy crash site and see what this other download that I have is.

Quick advice - and very very minor spoiler - at the normandy crash site you're looking to retrieve 20 dog tags. They are all there... I just had to run around the site 3 three times before I found them. Just keep scanning, and you'll find them. You'll get frustrated.. but you'll find them.

I'm sooo jealous. I live so far in the woods, they have to pipeline the sunshine in, which prevented me from getting "into town" to preorder. It's been sold out since it came out, being as I live "near" a USMC base, and marines seem to have more money than when I was in. The clerk told me it was gonna be 2 weeks before another order comes in, so I guess I'll have to wait to join in on the fun.

I thought about getting the first one when it came out...didnt' though. I would probably want to run through the first one before I tried this one though. Oh and near a USMC base eh? I'm guessing Camp LeJune? And yeah I think they blow their money and all alot more. They have gotten a few raises since I was in, but then again I got out like 10/11 years ago. Holy crap! It's been that long? 1999....sheesh....I'm old.

Good guess. Yes, you should play through the first, but it's not neccessary. The Dev's designed it so as you can pick up the second w/o playing the first, but it is a trilogy.

Ok... I'm liking ME2 more as I play it. Initially, it appeared that very few of my choices were going to matter... but...

---I'm striving to not drop any real spoilers here, guys ---

I was DELIGHTED when I happened across a reference to the Rachni queen, and there's been more. Oh.. now I really wish I'd finished that "fan" story in ME1. I bet that'd pop up, too.

It does. Right down the hall from the encounter with the Asari that you are describing.

So far, my biggest gripe (other than planet scanning) is the stupid mission end screen. What the heck is up with that? Also if you have multiple missions on the same planet, you have to do one, fly back, dock, choose team, do next, fly back, dock, choose team, do next rinse and repeat. I really liked that in ME1, the ship stayed docked unless I told it to lift off. In case you are wondering, I had to recruit the Assassin, recruit the Justicar, and Miranda's Loyalty mission all on the same planet, and for each one I had to land the ship when it shouldn't have taken off in the first place.

Damn You Joker and EDI!

Ya.. I'm there now. Just finished Miranda's mission, going after Thane.

My favorite dialogue so far:

NPC: Cerberus lets you ***** around in that outfit?
Jack: I like her. Are we still recruiting?

Who do you think your kidding? Your just in it for the guys.

I have decided that "scanning" is my least favorite thing in the game. Slow, boring, and frustrating.

other than that, beautiful, awesome, amazing.

Fly to the Local Cluster, and Scan and try to mine a few time on the planet Uranus. EDI is hilarious.

Finished all loyalty missions. Missing one crew member and poof, my HD dies. I should be back up running tonight, but damn.
