Quote:Which purpose went out the window with the badge counter.I guess if there's a badge for healing, a badge for doing damage, a badge for exploring, a badge for taking damage, a badge for arresting X mob type, a badge for selling, a badge for buying, a badge for--
Etc.
Makes sense to have a a badge for badges, I guess?
That one change eliminated the need for the badge collected series. Up until that point, you could say that you had at least X number of badges quickly.Quote:A count of the total number of badges a character has is now displayed in the Personal Info Menu Item.

or
http://www.badge-hunter.com/
Edit:
Like Lothic, Beef Cake, and many others here I will be earning the 500 badge when Issue 17 rolls out. I'll likely have the 750 badge quickly thereafter. As of tomorrow, my main badge collector will have 685 badges. -
Quote:No, it stays with the original group. If someone earned the SG healing badges (1 or more of them) in one Super-group, then joins a different Super-Group (that didn't have those badges already), does their progress transfer over?
1) No.Quote:Does the SQS automatically gain the first two SG healing badges, and have two million points of healing to go? Or do they still have none of the SG healing badges? Or it is somewhere in between?
2) Still have none of the SG Healing badges.
3) There is no in-between. The new group will only have the progress they had before the character joined the group. -
Quote:Well, I'm not going to "fight their introduction to the death", I just don't see the need for the badge count series (new or old) with the badge counter.Well, I say bring any badge you want to the game. whether or not people feel its necessary or not, I welcome them. Regardless of how easy or hard they are to get.
I've been here for nearly 5 years now and I think it is wonderful that there are people that have been around since the game's start. -
Quote:Apparently Castle didn't get the memo either:Wake up and read the Market forums. Everyone but you has known about that since Issue 9 went live.
We now have a developer on record saying that something is horribly broken.Quote:Inflation is rampant. Things going for more than the market cap is obviously a problem, considering the market cap is supposed to be the individual wealth cap. Obviously, something is quite horribly broken there.Quote:*Edit* also, is it a concern that these IOs are going for more than the market cap and are now being traded outside the market?
Check and mate. -
Quote:There are a couple of marketers that I owe the following to:
In-Game E-mail: You can now use in-game e-mails to send Influence/Infamy to your own characters or to other players' characters via in-game e-mails. (You still cannot send Influence, Infamy, or items from a Hero to a Villain or vice versa.)

I like the animated tails, and I've posted my opinions of the badges in the badge section of the forums. -
Grinding does not equal growth.
As said above, the developers will not give you more slots for your powers, more powers, or more pools. Find other ways to improve. Inventions, try some obscure power set combination, try to defeat an AV solo, Get badges. or learn to PVP.Quote:When you got every thing slotted the way you want it, from my point of view, there is nothing left, no growth, nothing earned.
Can I laugh at the hypocrisy of this sentence? -
Quote:You're going to have to explain the connection. Given the circumstances are completely different, your analogy either fails completely or disregards the fact that there is an infinite supply of widgets. The change in prices in the 1960s were cents a gallon, about the same as today. Only cents per gallon differences meant more in 1960 than it does today. The gas wars of the 1960s. An example of a system which provided all the information which was not a good thing.
Even if it were remotely connected, there is the problem that you are dealing with a group that controlled production of the commodity in question. This is completely unconnected to the production reality in the game where the random number generator controls what is made and when.
So are you trying to prove the reason we should be given more information about the markets? -
Quote:Might I suggest using a 4 GB to 8 GB USB memory stick?I've gone through 3 DVD recordable drives in less than a year and some of the discs that were burned, while they SEEMED to be just fine at the time, are now unreadable on the replacement drives. It seems that the old drives could read what they were burning just fine (until they died), but since they were apparently on their last leg, they were burning in such a way that other drives could not read the information.

This. While I applaud the idea of more exploration being rewarded, I don't want to have to get 100+ new badges just to have beacons to existing zones.
The new badge count badges: Meh. Did we really need epic badge count badges? Not really, we have a nice friendly badge count at the top of the badge info tab.
I hope the following have been added:
- Separate badges for components of the Vandal Badge. (+4 Villains)
- Separate badges for each of the invention crafting badges that require two different levels of crafts. (+36 to both sides.)
- Separate badges for each AV in the game (minus the ones who already has one). This should solve the Dimensional Warder issue for good. (This should be fairly equal to both sides.)
- Separate badges for fires and the hellions in the Steel Canyon Event (+3 Heroes.)
This list could add nearly 100 badges. -
Quote:This is correct. Or make a back up of your game directory to DVD or other portable media (it can fit on a memory stick, for instance).Just out of curiosity; is an updated install disk really necessary for existing players? I was under the impression that even in a worse case scenario (computer reformat and misplaced install disk) I would still be able to log into my NCSoft account and download any current client and corresponding program?

Quote:If you think the box will be available in April: Stop, do not pass go, and head back to the Original post. The box will be available in July, not April. That's my question. I'm also wondering what will end up in the little bonus pack that those buying the box in April will get.
Ok, this is my annoyance with the original post: Going Rogue and Issue 17 are two separate things. Issue 17 will have Ultra Mode free of any extra charge beyond the regular monthly fee. -
Quote:It should be a change in day/night cycle every 15 minutes. And the daylight is 15 of those 'hours', and nighttime a mere 9
Thats 18.75/30 mins daylight and 11.25 mins nightime.
I would be against extending the in-game 'day'. As if you have a task that needs one or the other at least you have at most 18.75 mins to wait.
Doubling that would make it more frustrating
13 Minutes day.
2 Minutes transition.
13 Minutes night.
2 Minutes transition. -
I still use my first level 50 four years after getting there. My other 50s still get use.

Quote:Yes, I know this is a quality of life request. However teleport does have an option to disable the prompt. Standard code rant aside, given the number of disable prompts that already exist in the game, there shouldn't be too much of a problem to add one for this.I just wrote keybinds that let me press Y and N to accept/reject dialogue boxes. That makes 'em go away in half a second, with no slow mouse moving to hit the button... multi-purpose, too; if someone's trying to teleport me and I'm almost done killing something it makes it easier there too.

Please give us the option to always allow or always reject the Mystic Fortunes. It is kind of annoying to get in the middle of a fight or any other time when a mouse click is needed, just like the teleport prompt.

Quote:Official Giant Monster Guides.Whats the criteria or 'respawn' timer on this guy? Its getting to the point where I want to -tear- my hair out.

Quote:And a third one via Lt. Chalmers. As mentioned, they were put in the zones where lacking vertical travel makes things more difficult. They were not put there as a convenience for level 1s.
Besides, you can zip through to level 5 in no time, get your newspaper, and have a jet pack free for doing your safeguard/mayhem. Villainside, you can even get a second one via Marshall Brass. -
No, I've taken characters below level 10 into the RWZ. I've not checked Monster Island so that might not be level restricted anymore.
-
Quote:Nit-picky, but hey.
Monster Island and stuff are not level locked. We did a SG Monster hunt, and checked. They were not locked (thankfully
we unloaded awesome on them all)The Hive -IS- level locked to 45+. I just checked with several characters.Quote:Hmm. I was sure that the Hive/Abyss were kept level locked. Oh well, it isn't as if anyone under level 45 stands a chance of living for very long in either zone.
Edit:
Same goes for the Abyss. -
Quote:You get mentoring credit because of the new super side kicking feature automatically sidekicks the team while outside missions, and to the mission hold while inside missions. So, yep, things have changed while you were not looking.WOW I'VE NEVER EVER SEEN THOSE BADGES BEFORE EVER IN MY ENTIRE LIFE!!!
OK mister literal genie, I'll be more exact for you. How about badges specifically for time spent being a team leader, regardless of whatever level they happen to be?
Or did something else get changed while I wasn't looking? 'Cause then I'd say that it seems silly to get time earned for that if everyone on your team is at the same level. -
An account can only be kicked from a channel if they are on and connected to the channel. It doesn't matter if they are hidden or not. It is harder to kick a hidden account, but the channel moderator has to know the global account name.
Or:Quote:2- if someone did this and he's not a GM then he hacked the system using some exploit and the rules regarding that are clear
- They are removed by a bona-fide moderator of the channel.
- The user accidentally or intentionally leaves the channel. (User error.)
- Another possibility exists where the global server accidentally removes an account.
The game shows a list based on a set of criteria (that I've not bothered to check into).Quote:3- why a "default" channel has to be closed? I'd close any other channel but the default ones
[edit]
There was likely someone that made a case to the GMs that the channel was full at one point and got it closed. You could probably /petition to get the channel re-opened as it is one of the defaults. However you'd likely have a ton of inactive accounts and the GMs will not deal with those.
[/edit]
And I've already explained why this cannot happen: The channel moderators cannot kick any account that isn't online. The GMs will NOT remove any inactive accounts from a global channel. The developers have said for the players to make a new channel in this instance.Quote:4- if and only if, for any technical reason, the channel cap has to be 2500 and there is no other mean to fix the problem (I will never believe this) then: this year I'd keep every active account on Virtue TFs and move the inactives to Virtue TFs 2009, next year move inactives to Virtue TFs 2010 so to keep inactives out of the default channel, and so on. Virtue TFs would always hold active accounts, inactives would be on Virtue TFs YYYY.
Players (even channel operators) cannot rename global channels, likely to prevent griefing. GMs will likely not rename global channels for the same reason. My best advice? Join the new channel, stick with it and it will likely soon change to show higher on the list. Or talk to a community rep to see if the newer channels can be made "default", but I wouldn't hold much hope that you'll get satisfaction on the issue. -
Quote:While I'm not (or ever was) on Virtue TFs, I think I can tell you from experience with Triumph Watch (Triumph's main badge channel) what is happening there. Of the 1637 accounts signed onto the channel 1619 are likely inactive. Those 18 that you see on? They're likely to be the channel moderators that help those that come back to migrate to the new, active channel and those in the process of transition to the new channel. How many active people were on Virtue TFs 2010? Likely many more than 18.(pointing at the responsible)
You did it! You forced the hand and KICKED me out of a global channel (Virtue TFs) even if it was not possible eh? and I am an ACTIVE player, at the moment.
I guess it is You that set it to be a private channel so I can't rejoin it, unfortunately it is still appearing like a "default" channel for the user logged on that server..shame on you!

channel closed? I can see there are players online..this is ridiculous.
From what I can see, you are experiencing a version of Brockian Ultra Criket's rule three:
So you what you are complaining about is not being able to get onto closed channels because there might be someone that didn't move that might not have moved? If they didn't move they likely forgot that they've subscribed to the channel.Quote:Rule Three: Put your team and the opposing team in a large field and build a high wall around them. The reason for this is that, though the game is a major spectator sport, the frustration experienced by the audience at not actually being able to see whats going on leads them to imagine that its a lot more exciting than it really is. A crowd that has just watched a rather humdrum game experiences far less life affirmation than a crowd that believes it has just missed the most dramatic event in sporting history.
A channel search of "Virtue" should show all the channels and which has the most active people. Just join that.
