Actually he can't be SSK'd to level 1 and even keep the majority of his pets. They automatically die if you exempt (I think for about 3 levels you are safe though). You don't have any control over it. Once they die, you can't summon them again because you are too low to summon them. At the most you'd be allowed 2 of the lowest minions.

Quote:Yes, you have to be the team leader for street hunting (no active missions) or the mission holder to gain credit.I have a question about the mentoring badges. With the advent of Super Sidekicking, does this mean that you have to be the Team Leader (or at least the one everyone is sidekicking to) in order to get the mentoring badges now?
Pretty much, but note that exemplars are reduced to the team leader's level (no active missions) or mission holder's level so you actually still have to have someone that is lower level to get credit (at least to my limited testing). -
You've been bitten by a long-standing and well-known bug. All anyone here can suggest is to send an in-game /petition (NOT /bug). A GM will look into it and correct the problem (it usually takes less than a few hours for this). To prevent this from happening in the future, place at least one item that requires upkeep like a storage rack.

Quote:Sorry, confused salvage and components. Yes, 20 per salvage, 99 per component. It has been a long day.im pretty sure that was just for event salvage (like the hamidon halloween costume), cause i remember back in the day when base salvage was actually needed, i could only hold up to 20 of a certain base salvage
-
Quote:Edit:i dont think there was a limit on how much base salvage you could hold (i think it was just a limit on each item in the base salvage, like you could hold unlimited total items, but no more than 20 copies of a single salvage)
20 pieces of any one type of base salvage or 99 pieces of any one type of component.
So 20 Amulets, 20 Charms, 20 echips, 20 energy sources, etc. and 99 Mystic Elements, 99 Mystic Foci, 99 Tech Power, 99 Tech Materials, etc. -
Sounds like a good idea, but likely impossible with the badge system.
On the other hand the Tool Tips could be used for this. -
I hope you have had (and will continue to have) a great birthday, Beef.

Quote:I was intending on doing that. I'm about 160 million away from the goal. Given that I'm not exactly a killing machine with an Illusion/Empath, I'll take what I can get this weekend.Double XP weekend. No excuse to not hammer out Leader.
I think of all the badges, that was by far the most painful getting twice (once per side).

Quote:It wouldn't matter. Vanden wasn't the only one to catch this fact. Go back to Lemur Lad's second post...I didn't mean to infer that an analysis was taking place, just that one was necessary to resolve the differing points of view. The special interest groups will always jump on something that they perceive as affecting them, especially if the suggestion is made without any apparent consideration of their perspective, and a proper discussion of the proposed change's impacts is one way to potentially disarm them.
Actually, given my experience with these forums, the status-quo tries to reign supreme. Only when a suggestion has no downsides at all does the suggestion get a "pass" or even a bit of discussion.Quote:I don't mean to be picking on you about this, it's more of a general problem (in my opinion) with the way that people present their suggestions in this forum, and this just happened to be the thread that I posted in.
It is reasonably apt though.Quote:I really think the people against this idea are just, at their core, falling into the trap explained in this video. -
Quote:Every single time I've mentioned it in this thread, it has been a rebuttal. If you are willing to discuss the suggestion without telling me to use the market, then we might get somewhere. Otherwise, you've stated your opinion and can move on. Given that this is my suggestion, I'll stay around to develop it further.
This is subjective feedback and you are more than welcome to your opinion. However it is only a subjective point of view and there isn't anything with that I can discuss.Quote:there are several other ways of getting the salvage you need. and i think being able to be specific enough down to 6 pieces of salvage on random rolls is good enough.
If you (collectively) have got nothing more than opinion then, unlike what Redoubtable has inferred, the discussion hasn't even touched on a cost/benefit analysis. Instead it is a bunch of opinions that seek to drown the suggestion in a lot of noise. At that point there is no discussion. -
About the Master of the 5th, yeah. I've been trying lately. That, Empath (before the reduction), and Leader are the reasons that my day jobs have been pushed back a bit. The day jobs are why I've been putting off getting the damage taken badges.
-
Yeah, and then I just have to get some of the remaining few badges that I'm missing.
-
Quote:And I've put forward why I feel that the suggestion is a net positive effect:So what's your basis for believing that this should be introduced into the game despite others' objections? That your preferences are more important than theirs?
If you're going to make a suggestion then you need to be prepared to advocate for it in the face of possible opposition. One way to do that is to show that your proposed change will have a net positive effect on the game. If this forum was just supposed to house suggestions without comment or analysis then every thread would be locked after the first post.
- It is consistent with uncommon and rare AE ticket purchases.
- Allows those that don't want to deal with the market to do so.
- It doesn't penalize players in either time or tickets who are looking for specific salvage to finish their recipes.
- Provides a price stabilization for common salvage on the market.
However the first half of the thread was full of long-winded "/jrangers". Rather than discussing the suggestion, I was told to do other things equally grindy.
Being told to "use the market" isn't discussion. -
Grats to all those who got all the day job badges. I'm 15 days away from that goal with my badge collector.

Quote:This section is for suggestions. That you want to do a cost/benefit analysis is besides the point.Need may not be a factor, but any change requires a cost/benefit analysis. If this were a need rather than a want then the benefit side of the equation would be a lot stronger.
This section's descriptions doesn't mention anything about cost/benefit analysis.Quote:Suggestions and Ideas Have an idea or suggestion? Talk about them here!
As to why I've suggested this, I saw a discrepancy with how salvage was bought with AE Tickets. -
Quote:Given that we -had- a red name responsible for bases and that red name is no longer red...Thanks CapnGeist and Snow Globe, I did not find those threads in my search. I noticed that the there has not been any posts in the base construction thread since last year. Hopefully this thread will draw new and fresh ideas to other threads. I want to combine these threads all into one so feel free to post any others you find, thanks.
As to why that thread hasn't any posts in the last year is because while players want to see changes to bases, they've been on the back burner for so long that a lot of the base builders have moved on (some issues have persisted since Issue 6). There are two threads dedicated to requests for in-game existing items for decorating use for pity's sake. Or like one of the base designers in my group told me recently: "as long as players can have access to the basics (TPs, Workshops, Medical, Ouroborus pillars) then they don't care about anything else."
I suspect the reason the developers don't have interactive ideas like these is that it would further isolate people, making the city zones appear even less populated.Quote:Great ideas guys, I have heard a lot of these requests from fellow players in game, hopefully if there is enough demand they will be implemented in a future issue. I love the interactive ideas like AE contact, Wentworths Rep, SG Registrar (could be a in-base secretary), level trainers and a respec contact, store contacts that sell enhancements or inspirations, etc.
Red Name (pohsyb) post. Or you can look at the Issue 17 overview.Quote:I heard some talk of being able to send influence and possibly recipes, enhancements or salvage through in game email in a future update. I cannot confirm this, it is just what I have heard. When I find official info I will post it here. This should lower some of the need for global storage that is connected to transferring money or recipes to other characters on your account.
Recipes were specifically banned from storage due to market concerns. While I don't agree with those concerns, being able to email recipes will somewhat change the need for this. -

Quote:I petitioned again in January and only got the same old generic email response. Repeated that process at the beginning of February and again over this past weekend, but still to no avail. Well, now that I've had a chance to rant, any suggestions? Or consoling words? Both of you should go to the NCsoft support, not the ingame /petition system:Quote:Yes, they have owed me 63 and 66 month Vet rewards for quite awhile. In-game bug petitions have done nothing. I will try account management.

Quote:No. While I might not like the name policy, level 5 was set so that it had minimal impact on returning players. I can see the wisdom of it, if only for the people in the armed services. For non-Trial accounts make it scale with the length of time inactive, maybe for every 6 months increase it by 10 levels (so 6-months inactive level 10 or lower, 1 year level 20 or lower, 2.5years and all of your characters are at risk).
Level 50s should never have to fear losing their names. -
Quote:Actually I quite like the Champions naming convention. I also see it as a means of moving away from the current dedicated servers to a (I won't say server merge) more instanced global server like CO. This way any of my characters can team with any of my friend's characters whenever we like. Instead of servers, we could choose which instance to go to.The attachment of your global to your hero name, so that it would be impossible to have duplicate names outside of your own characters, and so that you could name your hero whatever you wanted. It wouldn't matter even if you transferred servers.
I don't think appending the global name is ugly and in CO you can display the global names of other players or not as you choose. This is entirely sensible.
I agree.

Though Master of the 5th will be a bit of a nuisance.
