Quote:That I could get behind.Maybe we could have an Epic Accolade, but instead of using the Epic Badges use the Epic meaning from Epic ATs. Doing all the missions and TF/SFs to stop the Coming Storm and having it grant an accolade would be an Epic Accolade. That would certainly be an epic adventure.

Quote:Where, exactly, is the compromise there? #2 negates #1.Ok, how about a compromise.
1) The Vet reward badges stay as a reward for every three months of paid subsciption, just like now.
2) The powers, costumes and such from the rewards opened up as obtainable options for the rest of the playerbase.
The Veteran Rewards system is equally fair to everyone. The system was explained clearly before it started. If you want a particular reward, play the game and look forward to it. Failing to do so will get you labelled as a Plantar Wart aka Veruca Salt singing "I want it NOW!":
Notice any similarities between the requests for having the vet rewards outside the program and this song? Good. Class dismissed.Quote:Veruca Salt:
Gooses! Geeses!
I want my geese to lay gold eggs for Easter
Mr. Salt:
It will, sweetheart
Veruca:
At least a hundred a day
Mr.Salt:
Anything you say
Veruca:
And by the way
Mr. Salt:
What?
Veruca:
I want a feast.
Mr. Salt:
You ate before you came to the factory
Veruca:
I want a bean feast!
Mr. Salt:
Oh, one of those
Veruca:
Cream buns and doughnuts and fruitcake with no nuts
So good you could go nuts
Mr. Salt:
You can have all those things when you get home
Veruca:
No, now!!
I want a ball
I want a party
Pink macaroons and a million balloons
And performing baboons and ...
Give it to me
Rrhh rhhh
Now!
I want the world
I want the whole world
I want to lock it all up in my pocket
It's my bar of chocolate
Give it to me
Now!
I want today
I want tomorrow
I want to wear 'em like braids in my hair
And I don't want to share 'em
I want a party with room fulls of laughter
Ten thousand tons of ice cream
And if I don't get the things I am after
I'm going to scream!
I want the works
I want the whole works
Presents and prizes and sweets and surprises
Of all shapes and sizes
And now
Don't care how
I want it now
Don't care how
I want it now
Oompa Loompas:
Oompa Loompa doompadee doo
I've got another puzzle for you
Oompa Loompa doompadah dee
If you are wise you will listen to me
Who do you blame when your kid is a brat
Pampered and spoiled like a Siamese cat?
Blaming the kids is a lion of shame
You know exactly who's to blame:
The mother and the father!
Oompa Loompa doompadee dah
If you're not spoiled then you will go far
You will live in happiness too
Like the Oompa Loompa doompadee do -
So if it isn't retroactive, 6 months from next week we should be seeing this command actually do its thing. If anyone has objections, you have 6 months & a week to make them.

Quote:The problem is that you are not proposing a new stand alone badge. You suggested a badge for wildly diverse goals.Hi,
I also got an accolade called Pocket D VIP Gold member pass and I got three independant accolades. one each for doing one respec trial. Not all accolades are tied to a series.
The ones I listed are a series of "Epics" which tenuous as set they might be, but still more of a series than say the other Accolade, VIP, for buying the DVD version of the game.
You might as well ask for the developers to strip the last badge in each epic series and have the removed badge replaced with an accolade for that series.
Edit:
You know, that doesn't make any sense either.
So if you got all 6 damage taken badges but Immortal you'd get Immortal as an accolade. If you got all the healing badges but Empath, Empath would be the accolade for having the other 5. -
-
Quote:After 5 years of play, my Ill/Emp controller earned Empath after they reduced the requirements to 10 million. Given the original value was 1 billion, this should show just how far off the mark was...I recall reading in Issue 5 that the original goal for the Epic badges was that they'd be earnable by most characters after five years of play.
Edit:
I ground the reduced requirement for Leader during 2x XP weekends and ITF. The last 2x XP weekend I repeated the ITF so often on one character that I got next to no merits for one of the runs. -

Quote:A reasonable compromise might be to allow, say, a thirty-month veteran to pay for thirty more months and immediately get the rewards for 33-60 months, but not the loyalty badges. What you are asking for completely defeats the purpose of the system in question.Quote:
Veteran Rewards Program
This program rewards our fans for their time spent supporting and playing City of Heroes® and City of Villains®!
Veteran Rewards FAQ:
This information was available before launch of the program, and is still accessible from the main website.Quote:Q: Can I pay for a certain number of months into the future in order to receive my rewards now? A: No. The rewards are for the number of months with an active paying account and this only applies to past time, not future time.

Quote:Already there. You have to do the "There's a Sucker Born Every Minute" flashback to get the mission.OK Devs, you have shown us that you do remember that you can add stuff to Ouro. How about adding the Villain stuff like
Like Paragon of Vice

Already there, in the 25-29 flashback range.Quote:

I agree, and all the Safeguards should be added too. -
Actually without farming I would play the game more. I'd be more interactive with my friends, and I'd team more. Which is the whole point of a massively multiplayer online role playing game.
An MMO shouldn't focus on the solo farmer, it should find more ways for people to interact. -
Quote:Ok, let me put it to you another way: I highly doubt that the fix would be assign the badge according to creation date when the fix they told players they were looking at was to award the anniversary badges globally. You're right of course, but I know the devs and they like to get stuff perfect before it rolls out. They'll have another whole year to deal with anniversary badges after this after all.
Since then they made the AE global badges, so they now have the tech. They just haven't got either the will or time to change the anniversary badges to global badges. Or they forgot. Any way you go about it though, for a game that has an emphasis on creating alts, making WORK out of what is supposed to be a fun event is counterproductive.
Edit:
Even if at this point they cannot use the AE Tech to globally award the previous badges yet, that is no reason why they had to persist using the old tech to award the new Anniversary badges. At a later point, they can go back and adjust the old anniversary badges. -
I've put forth the argument that Vet Rewards should have an end point. However I've been told there is badge art to 99 months (over two years from now), and they could add more slack into the system at any time.

Quote:Kora fruit does the following:Never heard of Kora fruit before, sounds delicious. But I'm all about having anything new added to redside. Lets' do it!
As you can see the Kora fruit was great as tier 3s, and still good as tier 2s.Quote:Kora Fruit missions come in 3 cave sizes - Small, Medium and Large.
Small caves have 5 glowies
Medium caves have 10 glowies
Large caves have 15 glowies
The cave contains one of the following in the mission description, which identifies the type of inspiration the glowies will give you
Red Kora - Gives a Focused Rage inspiration from each glowie
Yellow Kora - Gives a Keen Insight inspiration from each glowie
Green Kora - Gives a Dramatic Improvement inspiration from each glowie
Blue Kora - Gives a Catch a Breath inspiration from each glowie
Purple Kora - Gives a Good Luck inspiration from each glowie
Mixed Kora -Gives 1, 2 or 3 of each of the above inspirations in total, depending on the number of glowies. -
Incorrect. The stated reason was the ability to store Kora fruit in bases.

Quote:This matches my opinion of the anniversary badges.I would like it if they were global. If you get the badge on one character, it flags your account - YOU were there for the anniversary, which is what counts, doesn't it?
Besides, I have over a hundred characters at this point and logging most of them in for the anni badge is TEDIOUS AS HELL.
Edit:
I'd be in favor of an alternate means of getting the 5th column gladiator though. Perhaps any 2 Anniversary badges? Seems easy enough to track.
I wouldn't mind a way for people to get the missing badges though. -
A couple of friends and myself are trying to help her get the badge. I'm using the one character that already has the badge just to make sure there is another decent healer (as well as stealth/tp combo) on the team.

Quote:Characters don't need to have a badge to show when they are created. Put a line in the bio, and you'll have the exact date. Besides which, you can tell when a character was created often by the powersets that character has. You can reorder your characters by date on the loading screen if your are that bugged by which was created first.Disagreed here. It's nice to have something to distinguish my 5 year old characters from the ones just made last week. I like having the anniversary badges as something you had to be there to get. Also don't mind logging my whole stable in once per year; I need to do that to get them their day job badge too anyway now.
There's plenty of badges that represent how long the player has been in the game. All the veteran badges for instance show you were there for those years as a player. But characters who have been around and active for years on end deserve to be special by having the anniversary badges.
Even without a badge, I can remember the exact date that each of the characters in my sig were created:
Snow Globe & White Succubus were created Feb 12, 2005.
Strobe was created December 12th, 2005.
Shi Otomi was created December 25th, 2005.
The killing point is that logging in to so many alts feels like a JOB, therefore NOT FUN.
Passport was a clear mistake, it was originally intended for server transfers (something that got shelved while they found the time to do it), and only available to EU servers, not the entire population.Quote:I'd agree. There are badges elsewhere in the game that have the stipulation of "If you weren't there, you can't have it." (Passport.) This is nothing egregious.
12 severs times 12 characters is 144 logins in a short period of time for just one full account. Times that by the number of subscribers and you have the equal of a Denial of Service attack on the login servers. The potential of a single account having three times as many characters and it quickly becomes unmanageable. -

Quote:I would literally quit the game the instant it happened if the requirements are the same as they exist today. Enough of a "not a snowballs chance in heck" of getting my support for this idea for you?Hello all,
wanted to run this past the "Badging community" before either posting in the Suggestions forum or burning it
For this exercise I identify the "Epic" badges as:
Immortal
Exalted
Empath
Jailed
Leader
Paradigm
Fabricator
Power Seller
Ouroboros Mender
(Any thoughts on the list welcomed)
What would you think of an Accolade for holding all the above? Tracked the same as the "Defeat AV's".
Again, not a chance of support from me.Quote:Or if not an Accolade, any other recognition, such as a fancy title or some such thing (a Souped up version of a Vet reward say)
Effort? How about a wet napkin? I find it curious that you post this, when a lot of people are trying to celebrate Earth Day, and you want to encourage people to leave their computers on for weeks and months to get an electronic shiny. I speak from experience that would be the result in order to get this suggestion.Quote:If you are an "Aye", then what would you consider a suitable reward for achieving that Accolade? Something special that would reflect the effort (lol or stupidity and/or shear Bloody mindedness) required to get them. And what name could such a special Accolade have?
1. Whatever.Quote:If you are a "Nay" could you give your thoughts as to why. I have considered these by way of trying to judge the merits of my thoughts,
1. Holding these badges is enough reward anyway
2. Should we be encouraging badge farming
3. Would it be just another "Look what I got" posing trophy.
2. The developers and the players should by no means encourage badge farming. In fact it would be hypocritical for the developers to do so seeing that they've gone out of their way to (a) remove badges that were blatantly farmed in the AE and (b) all the nerfs to discourage farming in other aspects of the game.
3.Yes. -

Quote:Haven't you gotten enough complaints for this over the last 5 years to know this is a BAD IDEA? Seriously?6 Year Anniversary Badge
Just a reminder - this badge will be awarded per character, not per account, so be sure to log those characters
One of the comments made by Positron before the official lead change was that you (Paragon Studios) were looking into awarding the anniversary badges on a global basis to eliminate the need for players to log onto each and every alt they have in order to get the anniversary badges. You have the tech to award badges globally now thanks in part to the Architect. So it isn't even a tech issue. -
-
Quote:Yes because I know quite a few people that are looking forward to getting the 60 month reward, but are patient enough to wait for it. Your suggestion would force them to pay real money for something they will eventually get for free. The only people who should feel anything...are those currently non-60 Month vets.
That's where my suggestion fails.
This is a bad idea.
