Which guides in guide section are still valid?
Unfortunately, it's not that easy. Depends on what the guide's about. Different powersets/powers/archetypes were changed at different times.

Plus, some of us have updated our guides with newer information. One thing to look at is whether the Original Poster/Guide Author has posted in the thread recently.
LOCAL MAN! The most famous hero of all. There are more newspaper stories about me than anyone else. "Local Man wins Medal of Honor." "Local Man opens Animal Shelter." "Local Man Charged with..." (Um, forget about that one.)

posted dates, edited dates, and I think zombie likes to throw in issue number tags in his Guide to Guides.

And some, of course, don't deal with powersets or whatnot at all. (FatherXmas's computer parts guide keeps getting updated, for instance, or BillZBubba's guide to moving COH, or my own Kheld lore guide... ok, most of mine.)
Now, if you see a Grav controller guide advocating the usefulness of Fold Space, that might be a little outdated.
Keep in mind that an old guide may still have very good info in it as well. Dont discount it because its not updated to Issue 16.
The hard things I can do--- The impossible just take a little bit longer.

I can tell you that most information in guides for controller builds written after Issue 6 should still be more or less relevant as long as you're not looking for information about IO enhancements.
Anything pre Issue 6 is probably totally junk (for any guide that deals with build advice) due to a change in how enhancement bonuses were calculated around that time.

Also I forget the poster but the guide to SMASH for brutes was very useful too.
Thanks for the info, everyone. That helps!
Most of the guides on this forum are helpfully labelled with the Issue to which they apply. Many of the guides are very old, however. How old can a guide be before the information contained therein becomes outdated? Can I assume that, say, anything I12 or newer is still valid? Thanks!
